The Tathāgata Must Fail

Chapter 452: The Humanoid Venerable

Millions of kilometers away in the Chaos Realm, an ominous red glow arose, forming a terrifying continuum of space.

This space gradually opened, and despite the vast distance, it still made Sun Wukong's hair stand on end.

"He's about to awaken."

He heard the fearful voice of Zhulong.

Sun Wukong turned around, Zhulong had been struck by a powerful blow from the Jingu Bang, yet bore few scars on his body.

But at this moment, Zhulong had no joy.

Far from joy, upon seeing the red light, Zhulong turned and charged towards the Three Realms like mad!

Those still unfully incubated Three Realms were his last glimmer of hope for survival.

Without hesitation, Sun Wukong flew towards the Three Realms even faster.

Millions of kilometers away, the red light of the terrifying space grew more intense, revealing a humanoid creature.

That creature was like a Giant from within Chaos, looking over at them.

"Slay the aberration."

His voice sounded.

A terrifying fluctuation emanated from the Giant, surging towards the two of them.

It was an incomparably vast force that, seen from the side, was like a transparent tide sweeping across Chaos.

Wherever the tide went, Chaos boiled, the Star River reversed flow, meteors turned to ash, all matter disintegrated within the tide, creating a horrifying scene.

Chaos seemed to be torn apart.

Sun Wukong and Zhulong flew side by side towards the Three Realms, as fast as lightning.

But the tide arrived in an instant.

"No, no!"

Zhulong felt the rapidly approaching presence behind him and cried out in fear.

Sun Wukong also felt chills, as the pressing presence behind made all his Immortal Law and Heavenly Dao within disobey his commands.

With a "boom," the tide passed through Sun Wukong, stripping his Divine Soul away.

Zhulong next to him let out a miserable scream as its body collided with Sun Wukong's.

In that moment, it was as if the stars were reversing, the will of Sun Wukong entangling with the thoughts of Zhulong.

His gaze pierced through billions of years of time, seeing the first light of the Chaos Realm.

It was the only beam of light in the heavens and earth, bright and splendid.

The source of this light was a humanoid Venerable, with countless creatures following behind him, enveloped in the radiance.

Sun Wukong saw a group of Zhu Rong within that endless brilliance.

Before he could see clearly, time and space began to change.

The brilliant light, unknown when, turned into a shade of crimson, and angry storms and lightning tore through Chaos.

Countless small worlds collided in the storm, innumerable races obliterated in an instant.

After the storm passed, the blood and limbs of thousands of Zhu Rong drifted in the void, a severely wounded little Zhulong survived, wailing beside countless corpses.

Sun Wukong understood.

These were the memories of Zhulong.

He quietly watched as the little Zhulong devoured an entire small world and set off on its journey alone.

"I hate!"

Zhulong's thoughts roamed the void: "I must kill him, I will definitely kill him!"

Endless rage enveloped Sun Wukong, he sighed and took a step, his will returning to his own body.

Opening his eyes, he saw Zhulong's giant body encircling him, blocking the tide for him.

"Why?"

Sun Wukong asked.

Zhulong coiled its body, its huge eyes looking down at him, more accurately — looking at the Heavenly Book shining inside of Sun Wukong.

In its eyes, Sun Wukong saw madness.

In this instant, more of the tide surged forth.

In a roaring sound, Zhulong's body shattered, yet it laughed heartily.

"You turn out to be his natural enemy!"

As its body fragmented, the madness in the eyes of Zhulong shone even more brightly.

It protected Sun Wukong, taking him towards the direction of the Three Realms.

"Sun Wukong, you cannot die yet."

Zhulong laughed loudly: "One day, you will take him down for me!"

It burned its own power, resisting the vast tide, turning its body into a torch, rushing with Sun Wukong towards the Three Realms.

Sun Wukong slightly frowned, feeling it necessary to clarify.

"Actually, you don't need to…"

Before he could finish, a earth-shattering explosion suddenly occurred.

Zhulong's body exploded like a comet, its shattered light illuminating the sky.

Sun Wukong fell into thought, tossed by the blast waves towards the Three Realms.

"Accept my gift, Sun Wukong!"

Zhulong's final words echoed in Sun Wukong's ears, accompanied by countless fragments of thought scattered in the explosion.

Sun Wukong came back to his senses, earnestly collecting these fragments.

His eyes once again crossed time, returning to the era of brilliant light, seeing the Venerable's face clearly.

It was a familiar face, looking with gentle compassion at the small worlds within Chaos.

Those twinkling small worlds, like glass beads, lay vulnerable before him.

He removed the Buddha Beads from his neck, countless beads flying into the Chaos, standing guard near each small world.

"With this, you all may incubate in peace."

The Venerable wore a smile, leading the myriad creatures on their journey.

"...How could it be."

Sun Wukong was taken aback.

This answer was not what he expected.

Before his body fell into the Three Realms, Sun Wukong's last gaze went towards the terrifying space millions of kilometers away.

In that space, sat a gigantic figure identical to the one before.

Sun Wukong's Eyes of Golden Flame crossed the space, seeing the true nature of the Venerable.
