The Tathāgata Must Fail

Chapter 362: Heavenly Dao Library

The deep seabed shimmers like stars with the city lights.

That is the newly built Dragon Palace City.

Sun Wukong floats in the water, gazing down at the massive and bustling city, feeling quite amazed.

"Dragon Palace City is located in the deep sea where light is scarce, so the lights must always be kept on."

Immortal Zhenyuan sits within a colorful bubble, introducing Dragon Palace City to Sun Wukong.

The architectural style of this Dragon Palace City has shadows of Wanling Country, but its design is grander.

Sun Wukong passes through the barrier into the city.

The city's streets are paved with jade stones, and white-walled pavilions, towers, and pagodas decorated with coral and crystal can be seen everywhere.

At the city center is Ao Luan's palace, with a roof inlaid with colored glaze and amber, its luxuriousness even surpasses that of the Virtue Palace.

"Did you design this palace?"

Sun Wukong asks Immortal Zhenyuan.

"The Dragon Clan has countless treasures."

Immortal Zhenyuan chuckles: "I've been very conservative."

If not for Ao Luan's intervention, he could have built a palace entirely out of crystals and jewels.

"This Spirits Magic Map of yours is indeed a fine thing."

Immortal Zhenyuan looks up at the Spirits Magic Map that hangs quietly above Dragon Palace City.

Within the range of the Spirits Magic Map, people can easily create and cast Spirits Magic, greatly accelerating the construction efficiency of Dragon Palace City.

"Is this Spirits Magic Map made of something that will disappear?"

Immortal Zhenyuan asks.

"No."

Sun Wukong answers: "It is formless and intangible, just my reflection here, clear to see but impossible to touch. As long as I am fine, it will not disappear."

Immortal Zhenyuan grows curious: "What spell is this?"

Sun Wukong shakes his head: "Instinct."

After achieving the Heavenly Dao, he instinctively learned to release reflections, expanding the influence of the Heavenly Dao.

After seeing Dragon Palace City, Immortal Zhenyuan walks with Sun Wukong through a transparent ascending corridor.

"This Spirits Corridor leads to Huaguo Mountain."

Immortal Zhenyuan says: "Before long, the Dragon Car will pass through here, becoming a transit hub between the land and the seafloor."

"Mm."

Sun Wukong's attention is drawn to the workers laboring in the corridor.

There are demons and humans, old and young, lighting lamps and tirelessly working, the line stretching to the unseen distance.

Sun Wukong enjoys this scene.

He always believed that as long as you are good at harnessing the power of all spirits, you can create any miracle.

Sun Wukong and Immortal Zhenyuan follow the corridor up to the shallow sea, where countless fish of various colors and coral reefs appear outside the corridor, a magnificent sight.

Seven little ones wrapped in colorful bubbles play among the coral reefs, but upon seeing the two of them, they quickly scatter away.

Sun Wukong can't help but feel a bit puzzled.

"Did we scare them?"

"Not us."

Immortal Zhenyuan answers: "It was me."

Sun Wukong gives him a look: "What did you do?"

"Daji persuaded them to steal my ginsengfruits again, and I caught them, gave them a lesson," Immortal Zhenyuan says.

Sun Wukong grows even more curious: "How did you teach them a lesson?"

"I gave them an extra ginsengfruit."

Immortal Zhenyuan says: "Ensuring they won't grow up for tens of thousands of years."

Sun Wukong is somewhat amused yet sympathizes.

Poor little ones.

"Great King."

At this moment, the humpbacked monkey who had been following Sun Wukong like a guard speaks up: "It's time."

"Mm."

Sun Wukong nods.

"What time?"

Immortal Zhen Yuan inquired.

The elder monkey promptly explained, "The Kingdom of Aolai wishes to submit to the Wanling Country, and the handover ceremony has begun."

"Oh."

Immortal Zhen Yuan understood, "Are you worried about unexpected incidents, brother?"

"Not worried."

Sun Wukong shook his head, "It's inevitable."

He bid farewell to Immortal Zhen Yuan, rose up, and flew away from the sea towards the Kingdom of Aolai.

The Kingdom of Aolai is the state nearest to the Huaguo Mountain; after much contemplation, Sun Wukong finally decided to incorporate it.

In the Kingdom of Aolai, the King, along with civil and military officials, stood atop the Heavenly Altar.

The handover ceremony was underway; Sun Wukong, invisible, stood amongst the clouds, watching the King pass the Jade Seal, the symbol of power, to Ao Luan.

This scene had never occurred even in the minor world.

And from now on, the Kingdom of Aolai would become a part of the Wanling Country.

The King had completely surrendered his power.

"He always surprises me."

Sun Wukong thought to himself; the good deed he once did for Aolai had brought such a return.

The ceremony smoothly passed the critical moment; the earthbound guards seemed to relax a bit.

However, at that moment, several streaks of black light suddenly flew out from among the officials.

"How audacious!"

Fortunately, the Wanling Country had also made preparations in advance. The group around Ao Luan suddenly took flight, intercepting the black lights, and fought them into a cluster.

Sun Wukong watched this scene with a cool eye.

It did not take long for the assassins to be captured.

After tranquility was restored, the ceremony began again.

But soon after, another mishap occurred as the King fainted on the ground without warning.

"Is it really as expected?"

Sun Wukong thought, flicking his finger, and a golden light descended from the sky, landing on the King and locking up his soul.

In the Lingshan Hell, the Judge's Book of Life and Death suddenly caught fire.

"Ah! Ahhh!"

The Judge extinguished the flames in fright, and upon a closer look, his face turned pale with shock,

"What's wrong?"

King Taishan asked.

"His, his name is gone."

The Judge replied.

King Taishan's face grew cold, "It must have been detected by that Sun Wukong."

They had taken away the Book of Life and Death, containing the names of some individuals from the Eastern Divine Continents, intending to intimidate Huaguo Mountain, but evidently, Sun Wukong had anticipated this.

Back in the Kingdom of Aolai, the weakened King stood up with the help of his guards.

"Your Majesty, what happened to you?"

The crowd asked.

"I don't know. At that moment just now, it was as if someone was tugging at my soul..."

The King began, then suddenly coming to his senses, looked up to see the sky gradually enveloped by the Auspicious Cloud.

"Thank you, my master."

The King knelt down and kowtowed towards the sky.

"The Heavenly Emperor."

Others also knelt down.

Sun Wukong manifested in human form amidst the Auspicious Cloud.

With radiant light and colorful glow surrounding him, the people of the Kingdom of Aolai, seeing this, all stopped their work and knelt on the ground.

"From now on, as my subjects, you shall no longer be controlled by the Immortals."

Sun Wukong spoke, "In my Wanling Country, man can triumph over fate; even mortals can create wonders, and I shall grant everyone opportunity."

Sun Wukong extended his hand, and plants flew from it, rapidly expanding and forming into a grand library.

Without support, the library naturally floated in midair, connected to the ground only by a staircase made of twenty vines.

"This is the Heavenly Dao Library."

Sun Wukong declared: "All people from the Four Great Continents may enter to study the Wanling Heavenly Dao on their own."
