The Ultimate Versatile Soldier King

Chapter 445 Understand the Heart

The young wolf saw his mighty brother Luo being humbled in front of his future sister-in-law and said nothing. He just took big bites of his bread and watched with a schadenfreude smile.

His behavior earned him a sharp glare from Luo Chao, who said, "Hey, Little Wolf, how's school treating you? Got any confidence to snag first place in the next exam?"

At these words, Little Wolf's face drooped like a wilted eggplant, "Brother Luo, do you really have to be so serious?"

He only went to school out of boredom, not because he genuinely wanted to get into college. What's the use of studying so hard, anyway?

Tang Yan, unaware of their true identities, assumed Little Wolf was just school-averse and advised, "You need to study hard, don't slack off, and if there's anything you don't understand, you can ask me."

Now it was Luo Chao's turn to be happy, grinning slyly, "Did you hear that? It's rare for your Sister Yanyan to care about you so much, you can't let her down!"

"Alright! I'll try," Little Wolf said with a pained expression.

"By the way, let's bring Little Wolf to the concert tonight! He'd be bored staying home alone," Tang Yan suggested.

Luo Chao nodded nonchalantly, confident that Xin Xing'Er would give him this little face.

"Concert? Whose concert?" Little Wolf asked, puzzled.

"Xin Xing'Er! Do you like her?"

"Oh!" Little Wolf replied listlessly upon hearing it. He, like Luo Chao, had never heard of this person.

Tang Yan, seeing his expression, burst into laughter: "You two really are brothers."

After breakfast, Luo Chao drove Little Wolf first, then he and Tang Yan headed to Huaxia University. Once inside the classroom, he was so sleepy he plopped down on the desk and didn't want to move.

He found school increasingly boring. Apart from chatting and joking with a few brothers or checking out beautiful women, nothing else held any interest for him. Even trampling people felt like bullying kids, with no thrill at all.

The university's management was lax; whether students attended lectures was up to them, and professors generally didn't interfere. Even if you skipped class, as long as you didn't fail the exams, it was fine.

So Luo Chao spent the whole day playing on his phone without being disturbed. Du Xin and the others didn't show up today, and no one knew where they had gone, leaving Luo Chao even more bored.

Finally, after class ended, Luo Chao took Tang Yan and ran off to pick up Little Wolf, speeding off to Liuhai Stadium. Xin Xing'Er's concert was held there.

As they neared the venue, Luo Chao realized how foolish they'd been to start out only now - it was too late. The surrounding streets were jam-packed by fans, with cars lining every avenue.

Using his extraordinary driving skills, Luo Chao managed to grab a parking spot against heavy competition. Protecting Tang Yan behind him, with Little Wolf trailing, they barrelled through to the entrance.

Even with Luo Chao's stamina, he was sweating buckets.

"Damn, these fans are just insane, pushing and shoving without fear."

Thanks to Luo Chao clearing the way, Tang Yan had no trouble getting through and said with a laugh, "Now you see how popular Xing is!"

Luo Chao didn't respond, as he was already on the phone with Dong Jie. Shortly after, Dong Jie emerged from the VIP passage accompanied by several burly men, scanned the crowd, and spotted the pair at once, waving them over.

Upon seeing Dong Jie, they had no choice but to make their way in that direction. However, the resistance was noticeably stronger this time. Fans thought they were trying to cut in line, stubbornly holding their ground against them.

Frustrated, Luo Chao picked up Tang Yan horizontally and leapt over obstacles, bounding across with several agile jumps, while the small-bodied Little Wolf squeezed through narrow gaps.

The three reunited with Dong Jie and snuck backstage. Some who saw this tried to imitate them, but the bodyguards weren't just for show, standing firm as iron towers, blocking everyone else.

Inside the stadium, Luo Chao set down Tang Yan and wiped his forehead. He had already decided, there would be no more damned concerts for him; the whole endeavor was more tiring than a battle.

The show hadn't started yet; they took seats in the front row's VIP section, a place not just anyone could sit - reserved for the wealthy and influential.

Relaxing against the chair, he said, "Teacher, why are you here so early? Didn't you go to class today?"

"I took the day off, since you youngsters weren't up for listening anyway," Dong Jie said casually, "Besides, outside of school, don't call me 'teacher' - it's awkward, call me Sister Jie instead."

"Sister Jie," Luo Chao mumbled, "That seems even more awkward than 'teacher.'"

"Just call me as I tell you, why all this nonsense," Dong Jie glared.

Startled, he shrunk his neck, not daring to grumble further. The audience was gradually filling in, the lights came up, and Xin Xing'Er appeared onstage in a white evening gown.

Her hair was styled up, shoulders bare and glowing, her face adorned with a gentle smile, making her look exceptionally beautiful. Luo Chao could swear Xin Xing'Er ranked among the top three most gorgeous women he had ever seen. She was just as impressive as that so-called most beautiful woman in Yanjing he had previously encountered.

This wasn't to say Tang Yan, Chen Ziqi, and the others were any less beautiful, just their temperaments differed distinctly. Xin Xing'Er, blessed with millions of fans, exuded an aura of control over people's emotions, an edge none of the other women had. That most beautiful woman in Yanjing had the same charisma.

Today's Dong's attire was worlds apart from the casual, playful look seen at the night market before.

The pristine, form-fitting evening gown lent her an air of solemn majesty, while the faint smile on her face bridged any distance between her and the audience. If she donned a crown and wielded a scepter, she'd be a Queen come to life.

"Such a beautiful sister," Little Wolf said involuntarily, transfixed.

In truth, it wasn't just him; most men in the hall were enraptured by Xin Xing'Er at that moment, losing themselves completely. Even some women were not immune.

To this, Luo Chao could only lament that this woman was simply an alluring Elf, enchanting all around.

"Good evening everyone, first of all, thank you all for supporting me so much. I'm truly grateful. The only way I can repay you is with my songs, so here's 'Understanding Heart' for everyone."

The audience erupted into cheers and screams. 'Understanding Heart' was the very song that made Xin Xing'Er famous across Huaxia, and it's also her most beloved track.
