"Ding, ding, ding..." In Moses Village, the sound of iron striking came from the blacksmith's shop.
Luo Chao walked into the shop and saw a burly Russian man, about two meters tall, with a bear-like back, striking iron.
"Excuse me, are you Mr. Ivan?" Luo Chao asked.
Ivan turned around and saw an unfamiliar Asian man. He asked warily, "Who are you? What do you want with me?"
Finding it amusing, Luo Chao replied, "I want to ask you to make a machete. Do you have time?"
"I have time. For locals, it's twenty US dollars to make a machete. For foreigners... two hundred US dollars. Do you want it or not? If not, forget it," Ivan answered.
"Yes, yes, yes, and could you please make 36 daggers for me as well? I'll pay 200 US dollars each for those too," Luo Chao said with a smile.
Ivan noticed that this Asian lad was indeed generous, so he continued, "That'll be a total of 7,400 US dollars. Cash only, no checks. Pay first, then I'll do it."
Luo Chao took out 7,500 US dollars and gave it to Ivan, "Keep the change. The sooner, the better."
"Come pick it up tomorrow morning. I guarantee it'll be sharp and handy," Ivan promised, patting his chest.
"By the way, the 36 daggers only need the blades, no handles. Can you speed it up?" Luo Chao asked.
Ivan thought for a moment, "No handles? How will you hold them? Are you sure you don't need handles?"
"Not needed," Luo Chao shrugged.
"If it's just the blades, I can finish them tonight," Ivan replied.
"Alright, I'll just wait here in your shop," Luo Chao said and found a chair to sit down by himself.
Thinking about how he had overcharged Luo Chao, Ivan didn't say much and ran to the storeroom. He took out a large piece of iron and threw it into the furnace.
Luo Chao saw Ivan directly put his hands on the furnace, ignoring the high temperature!
Soon, the iron melted into molten metal.
Ivan turned back and asked, "Sir, how long do you want the machete to be?"
"A total length of 80 cm, with a 50 cm blade, and it should have a blood groove," Luo Chao said.
"And the daggers? What style do you want?" Ivan asked.
"Blades about ten centimeters long, don't worry about how I'll hold them, the body should be streamlined, and they must be double-edged," Luo Chao replied.
"Ding ding ding..." Ivan began crafting according to Luo Chao's specifications.
Watching Ivan's busy back, Luo Chao roughly gauged his capability.
The reason why Ivan's craftsmanship was so superior was partly due to his skills and experience, and partly due to his ability to control temperature precisely.
This Ivan's ability seems to have a great deal to do with temperature!
...
"Ha! Ha!" Standing in the snow, Luo Chao practiced the basic knife techniques perfectly—horizontal cuts, upward slashes, swinging chops, and continuous slashes... The blade cutting through the air made whistling sounds.
"Good blade!"
Standing at the door of the blacksmith shop, Ivan watched Luo Chao in the snow, practicing textbook-style basic knife techniques with each move.
Sometimes Luo Chao slashed in place, sometimes he ran swiftly, dodging, retreating, and slashing with the machete Ivan made, the moves were very fluid.
"Sir, swinging the machete like that, you won't be going to cut someone, will you?" Ivan couldn't help but ask.
Hearing Ivan's question, Luo Chao stopped what he was doing and smiled, "Yes, I'm indeed going to cut someone."
"If you're planning to use the machete I made to hurt innocent people, then no matter how much money you offer, I won't sell it to you today!" Ivan said angrily.
"I'm not going to harm innocent people; I'm only targeting those who are evil," Luo Chao said, and as soon as he spoke, he used his mind to command, and the 36 streamlined double-edged daggers made by Ivan instantly flew up, shooting out of the blacksmith shop towards Luo Chao outside.
The daggers danced around Luo Chao's body. With a wave of his hand, the 36 double-edged daggers connected with his imagination, forming a circular scimitar!
Luo Chao swung this massive scimitar, slashing down at a large tree in the snow.
The sharp blade sliced through the waist of the tree, and before the sound of wood breaking could be heard, the tree was already cut in half, collapsing into the snow.
The cut surface was smooth as a mirror, showing just how incredibly sharp the blade was!
"Hahaha, what a good blade, good daggers!" Luo Chao shouted joyfully.
"This is... mind control! You, you're a Superpower User!" Ivan exclaimed, "In the world today, only the Night Blade in the news is known to have such powerful mind control abilities. You're the Night Blade?"
"Yes! I am the Night Blade, Ivan, I've come on behalf of Mr. Uri Geller to see you. Would you be willing to join me, Night Blade, in doing great things?" Luo Chao smiled.
"Willing! How could I not be? Befriending a hero like the Night Blade is my pleasure, let alone following the Night Blade to uphold justice!" Ivan agreed decisively.
"However, I'm Night Blade, and I don't take on the talentless. Ivan, show me your ability, use all your strength," Luo Chao knew that for a passionate man like Ivan, only excitement could ignite his passionate fighting spirit.
"No, no, no, you need to use your strength. Mr. Night Blade, you can attack me with all your might so I can show you what I've got!" Ivan shouted.
"Oh?" Luo Chao was puzzled, "My full-power slash has a force of 60 tons. Are you really confident you can block it?"
"A force of 60 tons!? Mr. Night Blade truly is a hero among men, with an amazing strength. But I'm not a pushover either. Go ahead and try, I can handle it!" Ivan, though praised, was unyielding.
"Haha, you're quite the hero. If I hold back, it'd be disrespectful to you. Ivan, you ready yourself and watch the blade!" Luo Chao said, exerting all his might, his entire skeletal and muscular system crackling, as he struck down with the machete towards Ivan with unstoppable momentum.
Ivan aligned himself in a horse stance, focused his energy, and spread his strong arms, palms open, to meet Luo Chao's full-force attack.
"Woosh!" The swift blade brought up a gust of wind, lifting countless snowflakes from the ground, and in an instant, struck Ivan's palms.
At the collision of blade and palm, Ivan let out a muffled grunt, then firmly braced against the advancing blade aura of Luo Chao.
And there, the once unparalleled sharp blade seemed stuck like a tiger in a quagmire, no matter how powerful it was, it could not escape the mire's grasp!
