Mysterious Assistant of the Washed-Up Queen

Chapter 197: Rapidly Expanding Studio

"Thank you..."

At this moment, Chu Tian didn't know what to say. He had thought that buying flowers and picking up Xu Qingqiu early in the morning was already very considerate. He felt somewhat proud. But when he found out what Xu Qingqiu had done for him, Chu Tian suddenly realized that any words seemed pale. It felt as if nothing could express his gratitude and affection; he could only manage to squeeze out those two words.

"Hmm? What did you say?"

"Nothing, let's go in."

Chu Tian suppressed the urge to embrace her right then, silently telling himself that he had to try harder and couldn't slack off. He wanted the person he loved to be at the pinnacle of her dreams, to let her enjoy the happiness she deserved, and... to help clear the obstacles along her path!

On the way, Chu Tian drove slowly, and, having been apart for so long, they naturally had endless things to talk about. They also spent some tender moments in the car, so it was no surprise that Li Chunhua and the others had already returned.

"Sister Hua, where is my suitcase?!"

Seeing her dear Qingqiu so eager for her suitcase the moment they met, Li Chunhua couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy, despite respecting her feelings.

"I've brought it for you; it's in the office, you ungrateful kid."

"Hehe, thanks, Sister Hua! I brought back a gift for Chu Tian. Come on, let's go get it!"

So that was it. No wonder Sister Hua seemed a bit sour.

Chu Tian followed behind with a helpless smile, giving Sister Hua an apologetic look, and hurried after Xu Qingqiu.

"Hold on, Chu Tian. Come see me later; I have something to tell you."

"Me? Okay."

Although he didn't know what it was about, since it wasn't urgent, it probably wasn't a big deal.

Xu Qingqiu's office remained as usual, as if the expansion of the studio hadn't affected it one bit. Apart from the significant changes in the outer office area, the arrangement here was as usual.

"Your studio has expanded; haven't you thought about getting yourself a bigger office?"

Her office was only about a dozen square meters, enough for two desks and a sofa near the entrance, and that was it.

"Why would I need a bigger office? I hardly handle studio work anymore. I'm not a big boss like you; having it would be a waste."

He was just about to ask how that could be considered a waste.

Then he reconsidered. Xu Qingqiu's main job was still as a star, definitely not managing the business side of things, so a larger office was indeed unnecessary. Previously, with no work and no staff, she had no choice but to personally step up and manage things. Now, after regaining popularity, she was incredibly busy with work. The studio also had enough money, so she didn't need to be on the front lines. Even if she had a larger office, it would basically just collect dust; it was definitely unnecessary.

Of course, the key was that she didn't have much money to spare; she was just reluctant to spend it.

"Here! Your gift. I went to Yunnan Province this time. The scenery there is so beautiful, and there are many interesting local specialties. The local culture is also very intriguing."

Chu Tian held the small gifts Xu Qingqiu had brought for him, listening with a smile as she recounted her experiences. The atmosphere in the office was warm and pleasant.

The two, reunited after their separation, talked endlessly, as if trying to fit a lifetime of conversation into that moment; once they started, they couldn't stop.

After finally taking a break, Chu Tian remembered that Sister Hua had mentioned she needed to see him. After letting Xu Qingqiu know, he quickly went to Li Chunhua's office. When he entered, four people were already sitting inside.

Three men and one woman. They look like artists, perhaps? He wasn't too sure.

"Chu Tian, you finally came."

"Sister Hua, what did you need from me?"

"Let me introduce you. These two are from a singer group called Feng-Lin Group. This is Chen Feng, and this is Yang Lin."

Chu Tian wasn't sure what was going on but greeted them anyway. The two from Feng-Lin Group, who looked to be in their twenties or thirties, sat there somewhat awkwardly, smiling at Chu Tian with a hint of embarrassment.

Just then, Li Chunhua introduced the other two people.

"This is Wu Ya. He's been in the industry for almost ten years, focusing primarily on love songs."

Wu Ya was a somewhat gloomy-looking young man with medium-length hair and a light, deliberately groomed stubble on his face. He was slightly thin and pale, and when he looked at Chu Tian, he exuded a very faint and reserved aura.

"Finally, this is Sun Jian, a folk singer."

As soon as Sister Hua finished speaking, the man named Sun Jian proactively reached out to shake Chu Tian's hand and then casually sat back down. He had a buzz cut and held a guitar. He appeared somewhat nonchalant, yet full of spirit, exuding an air of freedom and unrestraint.

Each of these people had distinct characteristics. The duo seemed somewhat raw and inexperienced, clearly new to the industry, exuding nervousness.

The one who sang love songs, Wu Ya, seemed a bit more relaxed, but he noticeably exuded an air of distance and a hint of insecurity.

If Wu Ya hadn't been behaving relatively normally, Chu Tian might have suspected he was either depressed or extremely introverted.

As for the last one, Sun Jian, he seemed like a bit of a maverick. He was very polite, though, just exceptionally casual rather than arrogant or disdainful.

After introducing these individuals, Sister Hua gestured towards Chu Tian and said to them, "This is our studio's music arranger. Of course, he has other roles too, which you'll learn about in time."
