Apocalypse: Last Traveler

Chapter 192: One Plus One Is Greater Than Two

The woman was tall, even half a head taller than Yao Wei, which Lu Xi'an and Yao Wei could see from afar.

Unlike Lu Xi'an and Yao Wei who were always cautious, she easily stepped into the rain as if commanding the Neo-Human named Chang to completely kill Luo Ping was more important than avoiding the rain.

She was undoubtedly the Type C Neo-Human Yang Guan that Luo Ping mentioned.

Lu Xi'an didn't hesitate for a second and immediately took action, shooting two short needles downwards with astounding speed.

Moreover, how could Yang Guan possibly notice the thin and short needles made from bicycle wheel spokes?

She continued to direct Chang, though Chang suddenly heard a sharp whistling through the air and was startled.

Chang turned his head in a hurry, following the sound to see the needles splash through the rain, leaving him no time to mind Luo Ping. He immediately loosened his grip, sprinting towards Yang Guan in two steps and delivered a kick.

"Ugh!"

Yang Guan was about to say something more, but before the words left her mouth, a kick sent her flying backward.

This jerk's kick was so hard!

Yang Guan felt like her ribs were going to break, rolled her eyes before regaining her strength, and spat curses: "You lunatic, are you crazy?!"

She intended to further scold "What the hell, kicking me for what," but then she saw Chang rolling on the ground twice before charging at her again.

The man's face showed a ferocious yet panicked expression, and for some reason, blood was gushing from his leg, getting washed by the rain, making his movements less balanced and nimble, but propelled by sheer force, he gritted his teeth and lunged.

Yang Guan realized something was wrong and shut her mouth abruptly.

She was then tackled by Chang, feeling as though she'd been hit by steel, causing intense pain.

"Boom!"

Yang Guan was slammed into the wall's door, almost unable to catch her breath, and involuntarily rolled her eyes again.

"What are you doing?!"

She saw Chang also lunging in, infuriated, she asked.

Blood was pouring from Chang's leg and shoulder, as if a blood groove had been opened diagonally.

He glared at Yang Guan, saying, "What am I doing? You see my injuries, don't you? You'd be dead if it weren't for me! Hurry up, ease my pain, and make me excited!"

Yang Guan calmed down and realized the urgency, promptly shut her mouth, wiped her face, and stimulated her sweat glands.

"Hoo—"

Chang smelled the sweat, exhaled deeply.

The sweat's effect seemed to numb even the pain in his leg and shoulder, his eyes turning crimson, as he rushed out fiercely.

Outside, the rain continued, and Luo Ping had already revived where he stood.

Previously, Chang had punched him, Luo Ping felt his head shaking, his neck almost breaking, and had trouble swallowing corn kernels down his throat.

But fortunately, as a Type B Neo-Human, he had unique capabilities, and eventually managed to swallow and recover.

The rain's scent overpowered everything else, yet he vaguely caught a whiff of sweat.

This is bad!

Luo Ping knew Yang Guan was making a move, his heart skipped a beat, fearing Yang Guan might make his emotions uncontrollable. If Chang attacked again and he became exceedingly passive, even not wanting to eat, then he would be doomed.

—Previously Yang Guan had used this method on him, nearly killing him.

In the end, he relied on his extraordinary willpower to survive it. But he wasn't sure if he could handle it again.

Unexpectedly, even smelling the sweat amidst the downpour, he wasn't affected at all.

It was as though the sweat was merely sweat, and not directed at him.

The next moment, he saw a shadow dash "zoom" out from the door that Chang and Yang Guan had crashed through, its speed lightning fast.

The shadow reached the downpour, abruptly turned, and charged upwards, hugging the wall. The explosive movement scattered the rain above that shadow, drenching Luo Ping significantly.

This shadow was Chang, moving so swiftly even he couldn't catch up with himself!

He was empowered by Yang Guan's abilities, heading towards Lu Xi'an and Yao Wei!

Luo Ping understood and glanced at the door from which Chang had just stormed out but dared not go there.

He wished he could go and strangle Yang Guan inside, but was also aware that with Yang Guan's abilities, it was impossible for him to get close, hence the stalemate.

Now that Shu had space to act, the goal was achieved, only hoping Lu Xi'an and Yao Wei would be okay facing Chang.

Leaping to the top of the wall, Chang was already exchanging blows with Lu Xi'an.

Lu Xi'an confirmed that a Type A Neo-Human catalyzed by a Type C Neo-Human was far superior to himself.

This high wall, Lu Xi'an could never climb, yet this person managed to leap right up.

Even when Lu Xi'an shot two more short needles at him, he could push off the wall with his foot, dart to the other side, and dodge the "hidden weapons."

So that's why he rushed up along the wall like that!

Lu Xi'an thought he had learned something, then saw Chang reach the other side of the wall, twist his body, lift a foot, and kick again. His entire body turned at a sharp angle in the air, heading toward the top of the wall, and in the blink of an eye, he was in front of Lu Xi'an.

His eyes were bloodshot, steam emanating from all over his body, muscles taut with bulging veins, and his skin appeared a bit red. Clearly, under the stimulation of the Type C Neo-Human abilities, his blood was rushing rapidly, filling his entire being, on the brink of rampage.

No wonder he could be so fierce, relying purely on strength to leap from below to such a height.

Seeing a few short needles were futile, Lu Xi'an stepped back half a step, directly scattering a handful of short needles, a "Shotgun" attack at Chang, without intending to face him head-on.

Chang was in the air with seemingly nothing to leverage against, about to be hit by a rain of needles, when suddenly he stretched his foot forward, stomped forcefully, and somehow kicked into the soil above the wall.

When he lifted his foot, dirt and debris scattered, and Chang's body flipped downward, landing back below.

In that short moment, the handful of short needles Lu Xi'an threw swept through empty air, "whoosh" as they flew into the distance.

Furthermore, as this Type A Neo-Human hooked his foot down, he twisted his waist, turned his body around, and hooked his foot on the edge of the wall, propelling his body toward the wall.

Then with both hands pushing off the wall again, leveraging the hook of his foot on the wall's edge, pushed his body back.

Another waist twist, he faced Lu Xi'an directly, throwing a fierce punch.

Lu Xi'an was shocked, how could a supposedly ordinary Type A Neo-Human execute moves like a martial arts film?!

Seeing that he couldn't dodge, Lu Xi'an could only cross his arms to block the fist aimed at his vital points.

Chang still emanated steam, but the redness on his skin had faded somewhat. It seemed that being away from that woman Yang Guan, the influence of the Type C Neo-Human's abilities was slowly receding.

But even so, this punch was not something a human could easily withstand.

Even for a Type A Neo-Human, it was impossible.

As the punch landed, Lu Xi'an felt as if being struck by a solid cannonball, with his bones almost cracking.

Fortunately, he had no intention of taking it head-on; as he crossed his arms to block, his foot also pushed off the ground, giving his body a force to retreat.

Thus, his body flew backward, able to somewhat dissipate the force of Chang's punch.

Chang didn't relent, not even waiting for Lu Xi'an to fully fly back, he stepped forward with another charging punch, trying to pursue and finish Lu Xi'an.

But at that moment, something came whistling from the side.

Chang sensed the danger, stopping and blocking whatever it was.

The object was dark, and it was actually a gun.

The gun, also thrown by a Neo-Human, with great force, bent Chang's arm and made his body tilt.

"Bang!"

The moment the gun collided with Chang's arm, it suddenly fired.

Bullets spurted from the muzzle, aimed right at Chang's face. Chang swung his head aside, dodging the bullet, but failed to guard against a woman's fist that followed, right in front of him.

The fist belonged to Yao Wei, and she was the one who threw the gun.

Chang hurriedly raised his fist, and collided with Yao Wei's in a hard clash.

Away from Yang Guan, the effect of the Type C Neo-Human's enhancement was quickly dissipating, but even so, the lingering strength caused Chang to make Yao Wei stagger back, while he himself fell back over the wall, dropping downwards.

Lu Xi'an flipped up from the ground, quickly reaching the edge of the trench, and looked down, finding Chang's figure already gone; evidently, after falling back, the guy had already entered the inner room of the wall.

However, it seemed like Chang was wary of him and Yao Wei, and didn't bother with Luo Ping on the edge of the passage, which made Lu Xi'an breathe a sigh of relief.

Lu Xi'an silently lamented, Neo-Humans are truly hard to deal with!

When he first shot out a short needle, Yang Guan couldn't react at all, but unexpectedly, Chang reacted, kicking Yang Guan away.

He then shot out two more short needles, but Yang Guan was saved by Chang again.

Then it came to this, with Chang using Yang Guan's Type C Neo-Human abilities to escalate, directly charging in, exchanging blows with him and also sparred with Yao Wei.

The augmentation from Type C Neo-Human abilities to Type A Neo-Humans was far beyond his imagination.

Thankfully, Chang came alone, without Yang Guan, as being away from Yang Guan made the enhancement from the Type C Neo-Human gradually lose its effect.

Otherwise, facing a Type A Neo-Human in constant augmentation frenzy, he really couldn't be sure he could handle it.

A warm current then flowed through his palm, spreading up his arm, as if using that mysterious warmth to stitch the wounded area, quickly healing the arm that Chang had punched.

Lu Xi'an looked at the Fungus Stone in his hand, marveling at its usefulness!

He saw Yao Wei also coming over, looking down, so he shoved the Fungus Stone into her hand, saying, "Here, this will make you feel better."

After saying this, he asked, "Didn't I tell you? To hide and shoot, why did you rush over?"

"I felt the gun wasn't working on him."

Yao Wei answered.
