What?!
Was there actually someone who genuinely met these extreme criteria?!
This is so incredible! Impossible right?
Coming to this matchmaking corner today was proving to be far more entertaining than anyone expected. The drama was reaching peak levels and nobody wanted to leave now.
The middle-aged woman raised her eyebrows skeptically. "Is this genuinely true? Are you not joking with us?!" Her confidence wavered slightly for the first time.
The elderly man nodded with quiet confidence. "It is absolutely true."
He calmly extracted six property ownership certificates from his cloth bag.
He spread them out on the ground for everyone to examine like playing cards in a winning hand.
Upon closer inspection people discovered that the names on these certificates all belonged to the same person.
Furthermore the addresses were all located in prime Mumbai locations! The crowd pressed closer to verify what they were seeing with their own eyes.
Everyone present could not help but gasp with amazement. A collective intake of breath rippled through the gathering.
"Six apartments in Mumbai! All located in the city center! Any single one of these apartments is worth at least 15 million dollars!"
"That is absolutely amazing."
"Yes with so much wealth his son can find anyone he wants to marry. He doesn't need this matchmaking corner at all."
The elderly man maintained a simple and honest expression on his weathered face.
"These houses were all purchased by my son through his own hard work. So tell me do they meet your requirements?" His voice was steady, without boasting or arrogance just facts.
The middle-aged woman's eyes widened dramatically as her entire attitude transformed in an instant!
She grabbed the elderly man's weathered hand with both of hers. Her face flushed with excitement and artificial warmth.
"Haha he definitely meets all the criteria! Your son is absolutely good enough for my daughter!"
Everyone's eyes widened in collective shock at the shameless display.
What a scheme indeed!
This face-changing performance was faster than trains!
The transformation was instantaneous and shameless to the extreme. The hypocrisy was stunning.
"Wow, who was the one that said there is not a single man for her daughter? It happened so suddenly I almost threw out my back from the whiplash," one observer muttered aloud.
"Yes exactly. When faced with an elderly man who owns six apartments in downtown Mumbai she immediately changed her tune like a trained dog responding to commands."
"To claim they are 'perfect' after all those impossible requirements is beyond ridiculous. The hypocrisy is staggering to witness."
The crowd whispered among themselves. Their faces displayed barely concealed disdain and disgust at the blatant display of greed.
"Ha ha wonderful!" But the man who wanted to find a wife for his son beamed with joy.
"I never imagined we would have such fortunate timing to meet here today! This must be destiny bringing future in-laws together!"
She paused dramatically before asking with breathless interest "Where is your son right now? We should arrange for them to get to know each other immediately! Time is of the essence for such a perfect match!"
The middle-aged woman spoke with tremendous heat and urgency in her tone like she wanted to close the deal before the man could regret it.
She practically dragged the man aside to interrogate him for detailed information about his wealthy son. Her grip on his arm was almost desperate.
The man scratched his head with obvious hesitation. "Perhaps we should talk about this later? For now may I take a look at a photograph of your daughter?"
"Of course you can! What a reasonable request!" The middle-aged woman's arrogant expression softened instantly like melting butter.
She eagerly pulled a photograph from her handbag not wanting to waste a single moment.
Alex was completely stunned when he saw the image from the distance.
Wait a moment!
This woman looked strangely familiar!
Was that not money seeking Anjali? The same woman his landlady Mrs. Lata had tried to arrange a meeting with previously?!
In other words this shameless middle-aged woman was Anjali's mother? And the silent man beside her was Anjali's father?
He had never expected to encounter them here of all places. The world suddenly felt much too small.
What terrible luck this was!
The elderly man studied the photograph carefully. His eyes immediately lit up with obvious interest and appreciation.
"My goodness what a lovely girl," the elderly man murmured while adjusting his glasses for a better look.
"Such refined features! Tell me what does she do for work?"
Anjali's mother practically glowed with pride. "She works in marketing for a prestigious multinational company. Very successful position with excellent prospects for advancement."
"And her education background?"
"MBA from a top business school. She graduated with honors naturally."
The elderly man nodded approvingly. "Impressive credentials indeed. What about her hobbies and interests?"
"Oh she loves yoga and classical music. Very cultured and refined tastes. She also volunteers at animal shelters on weekends."
"A kind heart as well! Your daughter sounds like a true gem."
Anjali's father finally spoke up with a smug expression. "We raised her with the finest values and education money could buy."
It had to be acknowledged that the scheming woman in question was extraordinarily skilled at enhancing her appearance through photo manipulation.
Her photographs were especially deceptive and misleading.
This particular photo had been edited and retouched to an almost criminal degree.
The beauty filter had been applied so many times that the original face was barely recognizable anymore.
The skin smoothing function had been turned up to maximum levels until her complexion glowed with unnatural perfection.
The entire photograph made her appear dramatically more innocent and pure than reality allowed.
Her attractiveness score had somehow jumped from a realistic sixty or seventy points to an impossible ninety-plus rating!
It was not merely this elderly man who fell victim to the deception.
The other people gathered around were also completely fooled by the heavily edited photograph. They crowded around to get a better look.
"Wow your daughter is so beautiful! Such delicate features and a bright sparkling face like a Bollywood actress!"
"No wonder her parents set such high standards when she looks so good. It makes perfect sense for them to be selective and demanding."
"If only my son could marry such an attractive woman that would solve all our problems."
"Forget about it. Their requirements are far too high and impossible to meet!"
Anjali's photograph successfully deceived everyone gathered in the vicinity.
These elderly men and women pressed closer. They surrounded Anjali's parents while asking numerous detailed questions about the daughter's background and specific conditions.
For a brief moment this location became the absolute most popular and crowded spot in the entire matchmaking corner.
It was the epicenter for desperate parents to gather.
Anjali's perceived value and market price rose accordingly with each passing minute. The bidding war had begun in earnest.
Alex observed the spectacle with pure disdain and disgust written clearly across his features.
The Anjali shown in that photograph looked completely and utterly different from the real Anjali he had encountered previously. The difference was shocking.
One version represented heaven while the other depicted dirt.
The gap between fantasy and reality was too great.
Using such deceptive photographs to lure people into blind dates demonstrated that Anjali's parents possessed questionable character at best.
They were essentially running a long con on desperate families. It was fraud in the guise of matchmaking.
But this situation had absolutely nothing to do with Alex personally.
He simply wanted to escape from this uncomfortable location immediately.
Alex struggled to clear a path through the crowd of passersby who were blocking his exit route. He prepared to leave this circus behind.
At this moment Anjali's parents found themselves surrounded by an enthusiastic crowd.
They stood with tremendous arrogance while pointing fingers at the world around them. Their egos had inflated to dangerous levels.
"How can your son earn only fifteen thousand dollars monthly? That is completely unacceptable. Do not blame me for being honest but I would never be interested in such a low earner for my precious daughter."
"Your son only owns one house? That is far from sufficient for our standards."
"Your son is not even 180 centimeters tall? He might as well be disabled. No thank you."
"Why is your son so ugly in this photo? Absolutely not acceptable."
The strings of rejections continued without pause or mercy. Their cruelty was breathtaking.
Alex could not help but speak up with irritation. "If you are going to conduct blind date negotiations then conduct them properly.
Do not block the entire sidewalk and obstruct my path forward."
Anjali's mother bristled with indignation.
Her eyes widened as she looked down at Alex with contempt dripping from every word.
"What who the fuck are you? Who gives you the right to comment here as a mere security guard?
This park sidewalk does not belong to you personally. What harm comes from occupying it for a brief period?"
Oops! She shouldn't have said that!
