THE GAMER'S POV: FROM TRASH TO SSS-RANK LEGEND

Chapter 126: Swap!

"Warmongress, Sir Tom, Jace! On my count, you all switch!" Zen roared as he held out his hand. His sword shimmered into view while he quickly glanced up at an Aria, waiting for the perfect opening to attack.

Lyra had just blown up the beast's body when she heard Zen's shout.

'Huh? What is he blabbering about?' she thought, confusion flashing across her eyes. Before she could even dwell on it, more limbs surged her way. In a flash, she dove aside, narrowly escaping, while Tom was already battling countless limbs on his own.

A swift dash to the left avoided one strike, then he ducked under another limb aiming to cleave him in half. With a sharp pivot, Tom slashed his sword upward, clashing with the beast's limb and tearing it away with sheer force.

'I don't know what he is thinking, but his earlier plan almost worked. If he made this one, then it means he has a solid shot at success.' Tom thought as his sword immediately came up again, absorbing the brutal impact of another wave of limbs crashing against him.

Zen's eyes were fixated on the battlefield, his gaze darting from side to side as he studied every possible opening, refusing to miss even the slightest chance. His focus was razor sharp.

Xar had just thrust his bone spear toward Blake. With an immense burst of speed, Blake twisted his body, dashing sideways and avoiding the strike by the skin of his teeth—by the narrowest possible margin.

Blood dripping from his lips, Jace came in with his sword, aiming at what seemed to be an exposed side of the creature. But in the blink of an eye, Xar's body morphed into a bone shield, absorbing the strike. The force was so strong that fissures instantly tore across the ground beneath them.

Xar tanked the blow with a wide, maddening smile. His arm shifted, morphing into a massive bone hammer that crashed down before Jace even had the chance to move.

BAM!

BANG!

A cloud of dust erupted as Jace's body smashed into the ground with terrifying force. Blood sprayed violently from his mouth and his body shook from the impact as a small crater formed beneath him.

"Rarghhh!" Blake's roar echoed through the battlefield. His sword was raised high above his head as he dove down, forcing Xar to glance upward. The blade was almost upon the creature's skull.

Almost immediately, Xar decided to evade when….

Whooosh!

An arrow sliced through the air, hissing with deadly speed toward him. Xar jerked his head around to avoid it but…

BAM!

BOOOM!

The arrow struck with devastating force, erupting into an explosion that shook the battlefield. Dust and debris filled the air, blotting out the view.

From the haze, Xar emerged, pink blood dripping slightly from his face. His eyes narrowed with irritation just as Blake finally descended upon him. But the creature simply frowned, spun sharply, and raised his hand. Bone encased his palm as he grabbed the blade mid-swing.

A violent gust of wind blasted outward as Blake's sword clashed with Xar's reinforced grip, but the creature didn't even flinch. His hand didn't bleed. His body didn't budge.

"You all need to go. I have played with you long enough," Xar coldly declared. His voice carried finality, like a predator growing bored of its prey. Blake struggled desperately, but no matter how hard he pulled, his sword wouldn't budge from Xar's grip.

Zen, watching everything unfold, immediately turned his head toward where Lyra and Tom were still engaged with their respective foes. His eyes hardened.

"Alright! GO!" Zen shouted with all his might.

Right on cue, Xar's fist shot forward toward Blake's abdomen at terrifying speed. In less than a second, it was already almost upon him when…

CLANG!

The impact was so loud it rang across the entire field, reverberating in the air for several seconds.

Even Jace, who had been unconscious and sprawled across the ground, stirred back awake from the sound. He staggered to his feet, blood dripping from his head and mouth as he swayed unsteadily.

Standing right in front of Xar's fist was Lyra. A large shield glimmered in her hand, bracing against the incoming punch. Her boots dug into the cracked ground as she bore the brunt of the monstrous strike, sparks of resistance flying. She had blocked the attack aimed directly at Blake.

"Inferno." Tom mumbled under his breath as he appeared from behind. With a swift and deadly thrust, he drove his sword toward Xar's exposed back with immense force.

BOOOM!

The impact rang out like thunder, a violent bang echoing across the battlefield and forcing the creature to spin sharply, his head snapping toward Tom.

'Salee''l.' Xar thought darkly, his eyes narrowing with disdain. Instantly, his hand shot upward, bone rapidly morphing around it, forming a hardened guard just in time.

Tom's attack landed with lethal precision, smashing into the defense and forcing Xar backward, inch by inch. For the first time, pain twisted across the beast's face.

A guttural roar erupted as Xar countered. Ten massive limbs swung forward in a deadly arc, lashing out with terrifying speed toward Tom's exposed back.

But Zen was already there.

With a burst of speed, he appeared behind Tom in the nick of time. His sword shot upward, intercepting the crashing limbs.

The clash sent sparks flying as Zen's body was pushed backward, skidding across the ground. His arms rattled violently, teeth clenched tight as he struggled to absorb the overwhelming force. His boots scraped the dirt, dragging him a full metre before he could dig in and hold.

"Wheel of Death."

The cold, cutting voice belonged to Jace. Finally pushing himself to the very limit, he soared through the air, his sword swinging downward with absolute ferocity. A massive water wheel materialized, its liquid edge rotating with crushing power as it slammed into the limbs Zen was battling.

SPLASH-CRASH!

The spinning wheel sliced through the limbs cleanly, dissecting them in half. Xar hissed in frustration as the mangled stumps retracted sharply. But in that instant of weakness, another opening appeared.

"Sonic Boom!" Blake thundered as his palms clapped together with a deafening sound.

KRA-BOOOM!

The impact created a shockwave so immense it shattered branches, tore through the air, and blasted outward with crushing force. The beast was hit squarely, lifted off its feet as if struck by a mountain, and hurled several metres backward. Trees snapped and cracked under the weight of its body before it crashed down with a thunderous boom.

'At least I know my attack isn't weak,' Blake thought, a cold determination in his eyes as he steadied his breathing. His chest heaved, but he stood tall, staring down the creature that was already beginning to rise again.

Side by side, Blake, Jace, and Zen lined up, their eyes burning with unyielding fury as they glared at Xar.

A few metres behind them, Tom and Lyra stood shoulder to shoulder. Their gazes were locked on the beast, who was already reforming.

Xar's hands twisted grotesquely, the bones reshaping until each arm had become a deadly blade. Both bone swords gleamed under the fractured light, their tips pointed straight at the duo.

'I don't know the reason Zen has for swapping us all, but we have to trust him,' Lyra thought as her magic flared to life. A gleaming sword materialized in one hand while a heavy gauntlet appeared on the other, the metal glowing faintly with runes.

"Let's go!" Tom roared. Flames erupted around his feet, swirling in a fiery blaze. With a sharp burst, he shot forward like a missile, the ground cracking beneath his momentum. Lyra followed closely behind, her shield and sword ready, while Xar stood rooted in place, unmoving, waiting for them to come. His cold grin widened, bone blades raised to meet the storm.
