Cultivating Through The Game

Chapter 86: Returning to Beifeng City Erha Accompanies

"Let's go! Time to head back." Lu Yu took one last look at the hundred-meter green bamboo and said to Yu Xiaoman.

"Oh, okay." Yu Xiaoman quickly caught up with his pace and asked uncertainly, "Was that the Vice President just now?"

"Yes, he's a remarkable person."

"A remarkable person?" Yu Xiaoman was a bit puzzled by what Lu Yu meant.

The passage to the Skeleton Cave had accidentally collapsed due to the Heavenly Poison Centipede, so the instructors from Beifeng Academy had to lead the students over the steep mountains out of the inner area of Kugu Ridge.

Lu Yu and Yu Xiaoman walked along the mountain's peak, watching the students and demonic creatures climbing up from below.

"Hey, Grandmaster, is that a husky?"

Yu Xiaoman pointed to the black-and-white figure down below, moving with playful steps, bouncing around as she asked.

Lu Yu looked closely and, sure enough, it was a purebred husky. Whether from its appearance or the way it walked, he could confirm it was a husky.

"A demonic husky?"

The Shadowless Dog King, mingling with the demonic creatures and leaving Kugu Ridge, suddenly felt someone watching it. Turning its head to look in the direction, it saw Yu Xiaoman and Lu Yu and curled its lips.

Thinking it had disguised itself well enough, emitting demonic aura like the other creatures, it wondered how these two humans had noticed it.

The husky quietly disappeared into the demon crowd.

Lu Yu glanced at the husky and then looked away. Although the demonic husky stood out a bit, he was now more concerned about how to secure enough trial badges for Yu Xiaoman.

When he first brought Yu Xiaoman into Kugu Ridge, Lu Yu had promised to obtain enough trial badges for her to complete this trial.

Now it was time for him to fulfill that promise.

Due to the Demon General breaking the seal and causing unrest in the inner area of Kugu Ridge, the Beifeng Academy advanced students' trial had ended ahead of schedule, but this did not affect the trial for the outer students.

For safety reasons, the instructor overseeing the trial decided to shorten the trial period from three days to one day.

At the edge of the inner area of Kugu Ridge, the instructors and advanced students of Beifeng Academy confronted the crowd of demons to prevent them from leaving Kugu Ridge and endangering the people living beyond it.

The demons had the advantage in numbers, but after losing three big demons, their upper-tier strength was inferior to humans, leading to a standoff.

Not long after, the Fire Feather Chicken and Ling Yuyan appeared before everyone, humans and demons alike. Ling Yuyan promised the Fire Feather Chicken to fulfill her previous promise, ensuring her safety, and help her find a new place to settle.

The Fire Feather Chicken agreed to restrain the demons and not leave Kugu Ridge until a habitat was found.

The demons dispersed, melting into the hills between the inner and outer periphery of Kugu Ridge. Ling Yuyan instructed the instructors and advanced students to guard the exit paths from Kugu Ridge to prevent the demons from leaving.

She then returned to Beifeng City to use the power of the Ling family to fulfill her promise.

The instructors at the outer area were also called to guard the demons, preventing any demon from slipping out of Kugu Ridge and causing trouble for the outside populace, leaving only a group of low to middle-rank Body Refinement students at the periphery.

Lu Yu had already concealed the badge of the Divine Weapon Pavilion on his clothing, changing the color of his clothes, and headed toward a Beifeng Academy student with Yu Xiaoman.

"Hey, classmate, come here for a second." Lu Yu waved at him from a distance.

That student glanced at Yu Xiaoman beside Lu Yu, saw her wearing the Beifeng Academy uniform, and without any caution, walked up to Lu Yu and asked, somewhat puzzled, "What do you want?"

Lu Yu placed his hand on the student's shoulder, lightly gripping it, and said, "I want to discuss something with you."

Feeling the power coming from Lu Yu's grip, the student was slightly panicked, asking alarmingly, "Wha...what is it?"

"You'll voluntarily give your trial badges to her," Lu Yu indicated at Yu Xiaoman beside him. Yu Xiaoman was currently wearing a hat to obscure her face.

"But?" The male student looked troubled, and Lu Yu increased the pressure on his shoulder slightly, making the troubled look on his face vanish instantly as he said, "I volunteer, I volunteer."

Reluctantly, he handed over the trial badges to Yu Xiaoman, who took them a bit embarrassed.

"And the rest," Lu Yu said, applying a bit more pressure.

The male student showed a pained expression, and with no other choice, surrendered all his trial badges "voluntarily" to Yu Xiaoman.

Lu Yu was satisfied, "gently" patting the student's shoulder, smoothing out the creases in his clothes, "It was your voluntary choice, I never uttered a single threatening word."

The male student could only offer a helpless smile. Indeed, Lu Yu hadn't said a single threatening word, but with Lu Yu metaphorically having a knife to his throat, could he dare refuse?

Using the "voluntary" method, Lu Yu collected a lot of trial badges from various students, and later when he encountered some students, they would run away at the sight of him.

If they thought they could escape, would Lu Yu's eight-step swift chases have all been in vain? They all obediently "voluntarily" handed over their trial badges.

To Lu Yu's surprise, when robbing the students, he found a few empty ones—someone else was also robbing the students for their trial badges.

But when Lu Yu asked them, they all claimed not to know when their trial badges "disappeared."

"Seems like we've got a thief around here." Lu Yu glanced at the "happily" departing students, talking to himself.

"Grandmaster, that husky has appeared again," Yu Xiaoman suddenly said.

"Hmm?" Lu Yu looked in the direction she indicated, observing a black and white figure moving away.

Lu Yu felt something off about this husky. With all the demons being intercepted, how had it managed to get out?

He gave chase, but after a few steps, the husky vanished out of sight.

This husky's silhouette continued to appear frequently around Lu Yu and Yu Xiaoman, occasionally emerging but always evading capture by Lu Yu.

Lu Yu felt resigned, deciding to ignore it. If it wanted to follow, so be it!

He felt no danger emanating from the husky; it either was very weak or bore no ill intentions.

Lu Yu leaned more toward the latter possibility.

Jingling sounds~ The husky, seeing that Lu Yu stopped chasing after it, came confidently towards the two, the sound of metal clinking coming from its body.

"It has so many badges on it." Upon hearing the jingling, Yu Xiaoman turned to look at the husky, discovering a pile of trial badges hanging from it.

"You're giving them to me?" Yu Xiaoman looked curiously at the badges the husky was offering her. As she took them, the husky shook the rest of the badges on its body, indicating it intended to give them all to her.

So, you're the thief, huh? Lu Yu stared at the badges on its body.

Yu Xiaoman hesitated, then reached out to pat the husky's head, and the husky displayed a content expression, while secretly thinking: Hmph! Foolish humans, you'll meet your end at the feet of this king, but for now, enjoy your little triumph.

Although, it felt quite nice.

Yu Xiaoman lifted her head to look at Lu Yu and eagerly asked, "Can we take it back to Beifeng City?"

Lu Yu ignored the anticipation in her eyes and turned to the husky, saying, "That depends—you dare to enter the human city?"

He had already determined that this husky approaching Yu Xiaoman definitely had some ulterior motive.

Yu Xiaoman did not understand what Lu Yu meant.

The husky ignored Lu Yu's gaze, continuously rubbing against Yu Xiaoman's leg.
