Chapter 1199: Kulutego’s Growth
Translator: Sean88888 Editor: Elkassar1
After Professor X was taken over by his second personality, he immediately gave off a vibe that was so ruthless that it was terrifying. The others there felt like they were facing an emotionless machine!
Jean was especially bewildered. The kind old man which always gave the impression that he could tolerate anything had disappeared in an instant!
Only Magneto and Prince Dracula had smiles on their faces. In their opinion, this Professor X was the one who was qualified to be put on par with them.
Sheyan could finally heave a sigh of relief. He considered Professor X to be the strongest person in his own camp, but due to the professor’s personality, he could very well become the weakest link instead. To be honest, an unstable element like him was the most worrying factor. It was truly fortunate that the professor had taken the initiative to make up for this of his own accord.
Professor X passed down some orders. With just a few words, he eliminated one by one the existing flaws in the defensive coverage that had manifested due to his kindness. The cost of doing so was obvious – more than twenty people lost their lives that day.
There were likely only two or three real spies among these twenty odd people; the rest were all innocent sacrifices. That was why the benevolent Professor X had been hesitant before. But now, he no longer hesitated to raise the executioner’s sword.
He would rather kill a thousand innocents than let one guilty person walk away!
With everything settled, those who were free for now went back to their resting places to rest. Sheyan did as well, but when he reached his room, Sanzi suddenly ran to him with delight clear on his face.
“Bro, the absorption process is almost complete! Kulutego should be able to promote to a 5th-tier legendary creature soon!”
Sheyan was excited too upon hearing the news. He instantly followed Sanzi to the rooftop.
There, he saw Grimm who had been freed from all his bindings. He was currently in a confrontation with Kulutego.
Strictly speaking, Kulutego had only been born less than a month ago, but in his combat form, he had grown to be a gigantic being that was nearly three meters tall. His arms had grown so long that they now reached below his knees. If he did not use his biological power, he would make the ground shake when he walked, as if a big heavy truck was passing by!
Kulutego was currently locked in close combat with Grimm. His attacking method was simple and direct. He placed his left hand on the rooftop and activated his power. The power instantly broke the rooftop apart into a huge mess, and a huge stick made of rock appeared in Kulutego’s hand. Kulutego then ran at Grimm with an excited shout and swung the stick down.
Grimm seemed to have hurt his legs, so he could not dodge. He could only grit his teeth and block Kulutego’s rock stick with his hands. The two sides reached a deadlock.
Grimm had to use his earth-controlling power to shatter the rock stick in order to survive, while Kulutego could take this opportunity to figure out how the enemy’s power worked. Kulutego was using the fight to hone his power; in other words, he was using Grimm like a grindstone to sharpen himself.
Grimm knew exactly what the opponent’s intention was, but what could he do? Let the rock stick which weighed hundreds of kilograms smash his brain? Only a fool would let that happen. He could only grit his teeth and endure!
Kulutego grew up without parents by his side who could instruct him on how to use his power properly. He was like a child with millions of dollars in his possession but didn’t know how to spend them. He had benefited a lot in this direct confrontation of earth-element power with Grimm, and he was growing at an alarming rate.
There were many cracks on Kulutego’s rock stick by now. It was already in danger of being shattered by Grimm.
But Kulutego suddenly let out an excited cry, and the cracks on the rock stick quickly disappeared. Not only that, even the surface of Grimm’s hand that was grabbing the rock stick was rapidly being covered by rocks! Grimm cried out in pain.
This fully demonstrated that Kulutego had surpassed Grimm in the application of his own power. The more rocks that formed on the surface of Grimm’s body, the more painful Grimm’s expression became. Kulutego’s eyes on both his heads instantly shot two beams of green light at Grimm.
In the end, Grimm slowly fell down with his mouth agape. His power had been completely sucked away by Kulutego; he had turned into an ordinary man.
This would not endanger his life because the source of his power was the mutation of his body after being exposed to cosmic rays. Kulutego only absorbed his power from his body, nothing else.
There was actually a chance for the power to resurface in Grimm’s body after a period of time, but Kulutego’s action had badly damaged Grimm’s source of power, so even if it did resurface, it would take months, maybe even years. He would not be a threat to the contestants anymore.
Although Grimm was already powerless and Sheyan had no intention of killing him, it was not in Sheyan’s habit to let his enemy go without getting something in return. So, he spent a few minutes taking pictures of Grimm and mailed them to the Fantastic Four in a DVD, hoping that he could exchange some rare elements for him. At the very least, he wanted to make sure that the Fantastic Four would not dare to fight against their side with full power.
By this time, Kulutego had already transformed into his non-combat form. The Realm had disguised him as a fat, dull-looking teenager. He had fallen asleep on the floor with his mouth open, drooling.
Sanzi listed out the details of his growth.
His HP had increased by 20%.
The explosive strike rate of his biological power had increased by 10%.
He obtained the new ability: ‘Double Throw’. This ability enabled him to throw two stones at a time. The stones would have a 50% chance to knock back and stun the target. They would also cause an Area of Effect damage, the AoE damage being 50% of the direct damage.
He obtained the new ability: ‘Regional Stone Spikes’. This ability enabled him to summon a large number of stone spikes within an area. The stone spikes would heavily damage the enemies and reduce their movement speed by 80%.
He also obtained the new ability: ‘Flame Enchantment’. He could attach fire to stones and add magma to ‘Regional Stone Spikes’ at the cost of additional MP consumption.

The rapid growth of Kulutego’s strength was no doubt good news to the party.
Sheyan retreated to his room, but he had only rested for less than ten minutes before Old Charlie knocked on his door.
“I have something I need to talk to you about, Master,” Old Charlie told him.
Sheyan sat up from the bed and nodded at Old Charlie.
“It’s about Freddy, isn’t it?”
“Yeah. Freddy’s power is simply too weak right now. He can still deal with ordinary people, but against a contestant or a legendary figure, he’ll become almost completely ineffective. Their mental strength is too strong for Freddy, so they can easily shatter Freddy’s illusion in their dreams,” Old Charlie said.
Sheyan closed his eyes and pondered for a moment. “So, what do you think we should do?”
“Freddy’s power comes from people’s fear of him. What we said before, about playing Freddy’s video on a TV station, isn’t practical because the government nowadays can easily cut off the signal and interrupt the live broadcast…. Moreover, the audience will just treat it as a movie or a new entertainment program. There might not be one person in a hundred who would be scared for a prolonged period of time after watching that,” replied Old Charlie.
Old Charlie was Sheyan’s servant; if Sheyan died, Old Charlie would die too. Therefore, Sheyan trusted Old Charlie’s words.
“Just tell me what your idea is,” said Sheyan impatiently.
“The problem will be solved if we can persuade Professor X to help. Professor X can implant the idea of a powerful Freddy into the public’s mind through mental suggestion, and then…the problem will basically solve itself. I’ve done some calculations. If we do this, the result will be amazing. Freddy will become our greatest soldier!” Old Charlie said earnestly.
Sheyan asked him with a frown, “Be more specific. How do we approach it?”
“We’ll first go to a TV station or a radio station. Professor X will control a representative telepathically to help him spread the story of Freddy through broadcast. Professor X should do this preferably with the help of a brainwave amplifier. It’ll allow him to affect more people,” replied Old Charlie.
Sheyan contemplated the suggestion carefully. After a while, he told Old Charlie, “Based on what I know of Professor X’s personality, I’m afraid it’ll be difficult to persuade him to help us with this.”
Old Charlie did not say anything. He seemed to agree with Sheyan’s statement. Don’t think for a moment that Professor X may be easier to persuade just because he had gone into his second personality. He had now become like a machine, taking into account only the rate of success and failure. They must have a valid enough reason to convince him to help. This was especially so now that he was in charge of the base’s defence; he would not allow himself to be easily distracted by other things.
But Sheyan then continued, “To be honest, I also think it’s a pity if we give up on Freddy just like this. If we can’t persuade Professor X, maybe we can try the next best alternative?”
Old Charlie frowned. “The next best alternative….You mean Jean???”
Sheyan nodded. “Not just Jean. Someone in the Cullen family has a similar ability too, and that’s Jasper Whitlock Hale, the guy who’s in love with Alice Cullen! Of course, if I have to choose one of the two, Jean would be my preferred choice, for sure. She has a really strong second personality in her that’s a Class 5 mutant – the Dark Phoenix. She would have no problem at all in terms of ability.”
