"Are you saying that Lin Xiaofan, Chen Hao's ex-girlfriend, is also a descendant of beastfolk? But she does have a so-called superpower."
"That's right, she is indeed a descendant of beastfolk," Hua Shan nodded. "However, aside from her ability to manipulate the Mirror Realm, there isn't any difference between her and us!"
"There's no need to obsess over how many people around us are descendants of beastfolk," Hua Shan continued. "They are citizens of this country just like you, entitled to their legitimate rights and should not be discriminated against. However, that giant gorilla and wolf you just saw are still beasts, not beastfolk."
Ye Fei nodded, fully agreeing with Hua Shan's words.
"Does Chen Hao know about Lin Xiaofan being a descendant of beastfolk?"
Hua Shan shook his head and said, "He probably doesn't know yet. But even if he did, I don't think he would care. He dared to marry the Nether King, so why would he care about this?"
Just then, a series of booming noises came from behind, and Ye Fei and Hua Shan turned to see numerous bombers, their signal lights flashing, rapidly approaching.
"They're going to start bombing the beasts on the mountain!" Ye Fei said with a frown.
"It seems that quite a number of beasts have landed on the shore within the day," Hua Shan deduced, based on the current situation.
"So what do we do now?"
"Let's observe for now!"
Before long, under the watchful eyes of Ye Fei and Hua Shan, two lines of bombers dropped missiles on the mountain peak, bombarding the beasts.
Pillars of fire and thick black smoke billowed from the mountain. Amidst the deafening explosion sounds, Ye Fei and Hua Shan could faintly hear the pitiful wails and furious roars of the beasts.
Then, under the moonlight, the two saw countless giant figures leap from the mountain top, plunging into the sea that surrounded it.
As the fire and thick smoke enveloped the entire mountain, the bombers began to circle orderly nearby. Their lights pierced into the sea, searching for the beasts that had hidden in the deep ocean.
After a while,
The noisy sound of the bomber engines still echoed in the night sky when suddenly, a thunderous roar from a beast resounded, causing the air to tremble violently.
A gigantic gorilla suddenly appeared below the mountain top, angrily pounding its chest and roaring at the circling bombers. Its blood-red eyes, enraged, blazed like two massive fireballs suspended above the mountain top, a terrifying sight!
After a few roars, a handful of smaller missiles were fired toward it.
With a "bang," the bomb exploded upon hitting the gorilla, igniting with dazzling sparks.
Yet, when the fiery light gradually dimmed, the gorilla still stood unfazed on the mountain top, even more enraged than before.
Suddenly, it leaped into the air, its enormous body lunging directly from the mountain top toward a bomber to the east, then with arms thick as pillars, it smashed the bomber to pieces.
After landing back on the mountain top, the gorilla turned to look westward, and again leapt high, its powerful left foot smashing down on a bomber before lunging at yet another one.
With a "bang," that bomber crashed into the rocks of the big mountain below after plummeting at high speed.
The gorilla then landed back on the mountain top, gripping another bomber in its massive hands.
It exerted force with both arms, snapping the bomber like breaking a sugar cane, then casually threw the broken parts over its shoulder, dumping them at the foot of the mountain.
The gorilla stomped hard on the ground with its foot and then let out a skyward roar.
At its call, hundreds of gorillas emerged either from within the mountains or from the sea, then charged at the fastest speed toward the mountain top. They crouched, sprang up, and lunged at the several dozen bombers surrounding them.
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
Chen Hao watched bomber after bomber being shot down or destroyed in collisions and initially wanted to go to their aid, but Lin Xiaofan held him back in time.
"What are you going to do?" Lin Xiaofan asked, "Can you handle so many gorillas on your own? Especially that largest one, it's completely bulletproof."
"With your abilities, can't you deal with them?" Chen Hao asked Lin Xiaofan sternly.
"I exhausted all my energy stopping the tsunami last night; it won't recover that quickly!" Lin Xiaofan explained, "If you don't believe me, you can ask Ye Fei. If it weren't for me, City H would have been swallowed by the tsunami already!"
"So what should we do now?" Chen Hao asked Lin Xiaofan.
"Find Ye Fei—that kid. The Onmyoji have many methods for dealing with beasts."
Chen Hao thought for a moment and said, "Any Onmyoji will do, right? It doesn't have to be Ye Fei specifically."
Lin Xiaofan sighed helplessly.
"I know he's about to become a father, and you don't want to disturb him. But that kid isn't just an Onmyoji; he possesses other powers that common Onmyoji can't compare to."
At that moment, a series of cheers echoed from a distant mountain. Aside from the five bombers that managed to escape the catastrophe and flee toward City H, all other bombers had been destroyed by the gorillas.
"That big gorilla is tough to handle," Chen Hao commented as he looked at the gorilla with a body like steel.
"If it were a one-on-one fight, you could beat it, right?" Lin Xiaofan said.
Chen Hao frowned slightly, clearly not agreeing with Lin Xiaofan's statement. He pondered whether he, with the strength of a merman, could really defeat a gorilla that even missiles couldn't harm.
Suddenly, the cheering gorillas on top of the mountain leaped into the mountain covered with fire and thick smoke. Not long after, one by one, the burning, towering trees fell and slid down the inclined mountain, crashing into the sea.
Then, the gorillas emerged from the smoke, in groups of two or three, standing on a large tree, bending down to row, and quickly heading toward the direction of the surviving five bombers.
The largest gorilla, on the other hand, stood on two large trees, one foot on each, following at the end of the group.
"This is bad!" Chen Hao panicked, "They are heading for City H!"
"And what are you planning to do, Campus Hero?" Lin Xiaofan looked at Chen Hao.
"Where are all your people right now?" Chen Hao asked Lin Xiaofan urgently, "Tell them to rush to Y City immediately."
Lin Xiaofan rolled his eyes.
...
...
Night had fallen.
In City H.
Inside an ordinary house in the south district, two people sat.
"The operation was smooth, and now those ancient beasts have begun to disperse to various locations," said Tai Shan.
The one sitting across from him was a young man around twenty years of age.
"Going by your plan, when can we initiate the next phase at the earliest?"
"When different beastmen occupy several counties and cities in East Country, that's when we'll launch the next phase of our plan," Tai Shan replied, his expression suddenly turning grim.
"However!" Tai Shan paused.
"However, what?"
