At dawn.
After having breakfast with Xie Xiaofeng and Tang Jing, Chen Hao and Ye Yuqiao returned to the Netherworld.
The moment they arrived back at the tent, Zhao Chong had already returned from the Dayang Mountains to the Huiyin Mountains, waiting for them for quite some time.
"You're back," said Zhao Chong expressionlessly, his tone somewhat chilly.
"Zhao Chong, have you met with the three clan leaders from Wu, Zheng, and Wang families?" Ye Yuqiao asked.
Zhao Chong nodded, saying, "I have."
After Zhao Chong finished speaking, his gaze rested on Chen Hao.
"If you have something to say, just speak freely, there are no outsiders here," Ye Yuqiao said.
Zhao Chong frowned slightly, his face appearing to be somewhat troubled.
Clearly, he meant that he couldn't speak with Chen Hao present.
"Yuqiao, since it's not convenient, I'll go out for now," Chen Hao said, turning to Ye Yuqiao.
Ye Yuqiao looked into Chen Hao's eyes and reached forward to grasp his hand as a gesture to stay.
Chen Hao gave Ye Yuqiao a slight smile and conveyed in a whisper, "Yuqiao, it's okay, I'll just go out for a stroll to get to know the place."
"Chen Hao, I hope you don't mind," Ye Yuqiao secretly questioned in her heart, her voice filled with concern.
Chen Hao smiled and nodded, then turned and left the tent.
After Chen Hao had left, Ye Yuqiao's expression darkened immediately, and she said coldly, "Zhao Chong, speak up, what is it that you can't even mention in front of Chen Hao?"
"The three clan leaders from Wu, Zheng, and Wang families are willing to join us, only they have their conditions."
Ye Yuqiao's displeasure was evident as she let out an irritated huff, thinking to herself that these three allied families were almost annihilated by the Ghost King's army, and yet they still dared to make conditions with her.
"What conditions?" Ye Yuqiao asked after pondering for a long while.
..
..
After leaving Zhao Chong's tent, Chen Hao walked toward the bustling crowd.
At that moment, soldiers from the Zhao and Zhou families were busy training on the parade ground. Seeing Chen Hao approaching, all the soldiers' eyes were drawn to him, looking at him as if he were some strange creature. Of course, many of them looked on with respect and admiration.
Everybody knew that Chen Hao had once slain four Dharma Kings.
Feeling awkward about the soldiers' stares concentrated on him, Chen Hao waved his hand and then hastily made his way toward the stables at the front of the training grounds.
Unlike stables in the mortal world, the stables in the Netherworld had phantom horses enclosed by invisible seals.
"You must be Chen Hao," said the stableman guarding the stables, approaching Chen Hao with a smile on his face.
Chen Hao nodded repeatedly.
"I've heard much about you, truly a hero in youth, handsome and gallant," the stableman greeted with a respectful smile and then asked, "Would you like to have a go at riding?"
Remembering the scene from two days earlier, when he and Ye Yuqiao had ridden a horse through the sky, Chen Hao suddenly found the prospect of riding appealing and readily accepted, "Sure, sure, but I don't know how to ride a horse."
"No worries, no worries, riding is simple. Just clamp the horse with your legs, give it a pat, and off it goes; loosen your legs and pull the reins, and it will stop," the stableman said casually, as he released a phantom horse from its seal and presented it in front of Chen Hao.
After handing the reins to Chen Hao, the stableman leaned in and whispered, "Don't think of the horse as a beast of burden, think of it as a fierce animal. The way to tame a fierce animal is simple; the stronger you are, the more obedient it will be."
"Oh!" Chen Hao sighed with profound meaning, as if he had realized something.
While still in the midst of his understanding, an overly enthusiastic stable hand suddenly lifted him onto the horse's back.
"Grip with your legs!" the stable hand said, as he shot a stream of Yin Qi Spiritual Power from between his fingers onto the horse.
The horse neighed loudly as it charged forward. Chen Hao, unprepared, was jostled harshly and nearly fell off the horse.
Just as he began to find his balance on the horse's back, he realized they were approaching the edge of a cliff.
"How do I make the horse fly?" Chen Hao shouted.
"Conquer it, make it heed your command!"
As the stable hand's response reached Chen Hao's ears, the horse had already leaped off the cliff, splaying its front hooves.
"Conquer it?" Chen Hao was stunned before he remembered the stable hand's hint and forced out a great amount of Yin Qi Spiritual Power from within.
However, the horse beneath him became even wilder, swinging its body fiercely, as if trying to throw Chen Hao off.
Chen Hao, having no other choice, went all in, exuding even more Yin Qi Spiritual Power from his body.
After a while, just as the horse was about to plunge into a deep pool, it suddenly stamped the air with its front hooves, and with a powerful surge, it leaped dozens of meters upwards.
Chen Hao's legs gripped tightly around the horse, and his hands clung to the reins, his upper body leaning slightly forward to be parallel with the horse's back.
Then, the horse's hooves rapidly trod on the air, racing from the bottom of the mountain into the high sky.
By that time, the horse had become very submissive, already conquered by Chen Hao.
"Wahaha!" Chen Hao couldn't help but exclaim, the suddenly clear view from the air and the breathtaking scenery beneath him, like a painting, filled him with excitement.
"Yuqiao, I've learned to ride the Netherworld's flying horse," Chen Hao sent a covert message to Ye Yuqiao, sharing the joy of the moment.
"You jerk! Mischievous! Sneaking off to ride a horse." Ye Yuqiao replied from the tent where she was discussing important matters with Zhao Chong, "But you're smart, learning so quickly."
"Later, I can take you to see the scenery on horseback."
"Mmm, yes!"
Hearing Ye Yuqiao's somewhat perfunctory tone, Chen Hao did not disturb her and Zhao Chong further in their discussions.
After flying around the Huiyin Mountains on horseback for a quarter of an hour, he suddenly smelled a delicious fragrance.
"That smells amazing!" Chen Hao exclaimed, suddenly feeling very hungry.
Following the drifting aroma, he rode the flying horse down and eventually arrived at a peak within the Huiyin Mountains. On this peak, there were dozens of kitchens, serving the meals for the tens of thousands of people on the mountain.
After dismounting, Chen Hao went straight to the kitchen from where the fragrance was emanating. He saw a big-bearded bald man cooking, with several junior cooks by his side.
"You're Chen Hao!" the big-bearded bald man shouted, "I recognize you, I saw you in the Black Forest that day. Just heard yesterday that you were still alive, and now here you are in person."
"The Black Forest?" Chen Hao sounded somewhat confused, his gaze fixed on the pot beside the big-bearded bald man, where the aroma he had smelled was coming from.
"It was the day you had a life-or-death battle with King Wanfa. I was in the crowd watching," the big-bearded bald man explained, "It was really a momentous and awe-inspiring sight; I could hardly breathe."
"So you must have been with the Zhao Residence or the Zhou Residence before."
"Exactly!" the big-bearded bald man laughed heartily, "I was a cook at the Zhao Residence! The house had already dismissed us servants, but having been there for more than twenty thousand years, I had nowhere else to go, so I begged the housekeeper to take me here."
"Then you must know Miss Huashan?"
