My Girlfriend is the Nether King

Chapter 215: 072 Unexpectedly Learned Qinggong

After jumping off the balcony, by the time Chen Hao realized what was happening, he was already halfway through his fall from a great height.

Seeing the ground getting closer, Chen Hao panicked and said, "Oh no, what should I do? Why do I feel like I can't fly up!"

In his desperation, Chen Hao closed his eyes and imagined himself as Ye Heng. He thought of how Ye Heng, when applying his Qinggong, didn't look ahead but used his ears to intently listen to the whistling of the wind around him.

Treating the wind as if it were the ground beneath his feet, the faster the wind blew, the faster he would go, and as he accelerated, the wind too would pick up speed!

Instantly, Chen Hao experienced what it meant to be as light as a feather—it was a feeling of floating! The icy inner strength within his body surged upwards, resisting the gravitational pull trying to drag him down to the earth.

Then, Chen Hao began to move his feet, taking a step to the left and right, creating a breeze beneath him again.

Suddenly, the sound of the wind beside his ears became sharp, and Chen Hao opened his eyes to see himself speeding towards the second floor of the building across the street.

After a brief panic, Chen Hao, still hanging in the air, lost his balance and fell straight to the ground.

After screaming in pain, Chen Hao rose from the ground. Although he had not successfully executed his Qinggong, he felt he had found some techniques.

"Light as a feather!"

"Riding the wind!"

"Just listen to the wind!"

Chen Hao closed his eyes and pondered, summarizing his thoughts.

A moment later, Chen Hao opened his eyes and immediately made large strides toward the building in front of him.

After two steps, he felt his pace quicken, and the sound of the wind in his ears also sped up; as the wind's whistling increased, his footsteps became faster as well.

When he was about to crash into the wall, the words "light as a feather" flashed through his mind. He lifted his head and puffed out his chest, looking up at the sky and repeatedly muttering "light as a feather" to himself.

Finally, at the moment of contact with the wall, Chen Hao's feet first touched the wall perpendicular to the ground, and then his whole body stepped onto the wall, running upwards along the wall with his body parallel to the ground.

The sensation of darting over rooftops and vaulting walls was truly wonderful, Chen Hao thought.

But before he could rejoice, he suddenly realized that he had almost reached the roof.

What should I do next? Chen Hao anxiously asked himself. Quickly, the phrase "leap with a flying body" came to mind.

He closed his eyes, first feeling the extremely cold inner strength within his organs, and then maneuvered it upwards, much like controlling Yang Energy Power.

With a "whoosh," the wind by Chen Hao's ears suddenly howled, and following that, Chen Hao felt a wave of coldness.

It was the chill of the high altitude!

He opened his eyes and realized he was in the high air, at least as high as a fifteen-story building. Driven by his subconscious, he spread his arms in midair, just as Ye Heng had done in his previous life.

That "floating" sensation emerged once again in Chen Hao's heart, and this time it was very intense.

However, the bewildered Chen Hao immediately lost his balance and began to plummet rapidly.

He closed his eyes, and the words "Riding the wind" came to his mind. Quickly, Chen Hao found that sense of lightness again; as his heart became calmer, his body felt lighter and lighter.

With his eyes closed, he began to step through the air, relishing the sensation of walking amongst the winds and clouds.

After an unknown amount of time, when he felt completely in control, Chen Hao opened his eyes again and was pleasantly surprised to find he had Qinggong-flown nearly a mile.

However, after his eyes glimpsed something, his heart started to panic again.

Without time to adjust, he fell onto the rooftop of a ten-story building below.

"Ai!" Chen Hao was in pain so intense that his entire body was numb. To him, being in pain from a fall was worse than death; if he were dead, he wouldn't feel the pain and could, after all, come back to life.

A few minutes later, Chen Hao, still in agony, slowly got up.

"I'm still too nervous. The key is to calm down, what the eyes see doesn't necessarily have to be contemplated in the heart!" Chen Hao muttered to himself.

After stretching his limbs, Chen Hao, standing on the rooftop, started running and quickened his steps, eventually taking a flying leap off the rooftop at that crucial moment.

"Calm down, and listen to the wind chant!" he reminded himself.

After several flutters of panic, Chen Hao forced himself to settle down. Running with swift steps through the wind, he was finally able to open his eyes and move forward.

"Listen to the wind chant!" Chen Hao kept mulling over these four words in his mind.

After riding the wind for a distance, Chen Hao unexpectedly discovered that his steps had not slowed down, but the wind by his ears had gradually become more gentle without him noticing.

He listened carefully and found the wind growing slower. Unable to help himself, his steps also slowed down.

Although his steps slowed, Chen Hao's distance covered seemed even greater, he distinctly felt his inner strength surge forward.

"So listening to the wind chant is all about hearing one's own presence in the sound of the wind and blending one's inner strength with it!" Chen Hao realized with sudden enlightenment.

Thinking this, he spread his arms, pushed his inner strength out of his body, and merged it with the wind as he thrust forward. In an instant, he had covered a hundred meters more.

"Haha, I am just too clever!" Chen Hao laughed proudly.

"Once I've mastered this, I must take Yuqiao flying with me!"

Ten minutes later, Chen Hao arrived at the maple forest on the outskirts of Y City, the same one where Wang Chuan had deployed the Five Elements Reincarnation Formation not long before.

After landing on the top of a maple tree, Chen Hao picked up the flute again, closed his eyes, and started to play.

He couldn't wait to know the continuation of the story between Ye Heng and Man Qingting.

As soon as the flute's sound began, images started flashing rapidly through Chen Hao's mind.

When the images slowed down, Ye Heng was eighteen, the same age as Chen Hao.

At that point, their master no longer consented to ye Heng spending nights in Man Qingting's room.

However, in the deep silence of the night, Ye Heng would still stealthily slip into Man Qingting's boudoir, even though he had become a man. He had developed a habit, for if Man Qingting was not by his side, both would suffer from insomnia.

One night.

Man Qingting, lying in bed, suddenly asked, "Younger Martial Brother, if one day your Senior Martial Sister were to get married, could you bear it?"

Ye Heng, who had been meditating with closed eyes, opened them, looked at Man Qingting, shook his head, and said, "I don't want Senior Martial Sister to marry."

Man Qingting gave a bitter smile and said, "Your Senior Martial Sister is already twenty-four years old, too old. If I don't marry soon, it's feared no one will want me."

"You still have me, how could no one want you," he said.

Man Qingting asked, "Younger Martial Brother, do you really not mind that I'm old?"

Watching Man Qingting's melancholic eyes, Chen Hao couldn't help guessing, "Senior Martial Sister, have you fallen for me in my previous life?"

Ye Heng moved closer to Man Qingting and studied her quietly. She looked almost the same as when he first met her eight years ago, but her eyes now held a measure of melancholy, which made her allure even more irresistible. After a long while, Ye Heng said, "Senior Martial Sister, you look the same as you did seven years ago, yet I have aged considerably; I fear in a few years' time, it will be you who thinks I am too old."

"Idiot, she's a zombie!" Chen Hao couldn't help blurting out.

The flute's sound became urgent, and the images hurried along with it.

One night.

It was midsummer, the valley had no wind, and the room felt stiflingly hot.

Man Qingting, wearing only a layer of thin gauze, lay beside Ye Heng.

Ye Heng turned his head and stared at her, lost in thought.

Man Qingting glanced at him and said, "Younger Martial Brother, don't let your mind wander."

Ye Heng turned around, brought his face close to Man Qingting's, and reached out to gently caress her face. After watching her intently for a while, Ye Heng asked, "Senior Martial Sister, have you ever liked someone?"

This was a question that Chen Hao also wanted to ask.
