Reborn As The Minor Villain In A Romance Fantasy Novel

Chapter 115: Tempest

Lucius entered the showroom wearing the racer uniform they had given to him.

The black fabric fit snugly across his chest and arms, and there was even a sleek helmet to go with it.

It was comfortable — he'd give them that but there was one tiny problem.

'It's tight in some places,' he thought, his lips twitching as he adjusted the fabric around his waist.

The lower part, especially, felt like the uniform was trying to announce something to the world.

He sighed and waved a hand. Space magic shimmered faintly, stretching the seams outward until the discomfort vanished.

'Perfect. Thank you, universe, for giving me this element… and wood,' he thought as he looked down approvingly.

The owner of the dealership was standing near the platform, looking a little tense. Lucius didn't know why she was tense, this was going to be a good shoot… as long as he participated, it would always be a good shoot.

The moment he arrived next to her, she began talking.

"You'll take some photos with the car first, then we'll move to the testing field," she said.

She motioned to one of her employees, who handed Lucius a folded piece of paper. "This is the script. Since it's an advertisement, you'll be saying a few lines during the drive."

Lucius stared at the paper, then back at her. Slowly, without breaking eye contact, he flung the script aside.

The paper fluttered pitifully to the floor.

"I'll think of something while I'm driving," he said simply.

The owner blinked. "You'll improvise?"

"Yes," Lucius replied. "I've seen a lot of cringe before, but that script might be the worst I've ever read. I'd rather die in a car crash than say those lines."

There was only a limited amount of cringe he could say and this was not one of them.

He climbed onto the platform and stood beside the car.

"Are we going to start shooting already?" he asked. He had other places to be at too, after all. After this, he just had to finish

The owner nodded, clapping her hands. "Alright, everyone, get ready!"

At once, employees all over the room brought out cameras, tripods, and drones.

The way they positioned it… it reminded him too much of his last chaotic photoshoot at Jabil just many minutes ago.

"Now snap!" the owner shouted.

Lucius turned his head slightly, smirking at one of the drones hovering near his face.

"You're going to love this angle," he muttered.

For the next few minutes, he posed beside the Tempest… one hand on the roof, one foot resting against the tire, and an arrogant smirk that came naturally to him.

The flashes went off nonstop, capturing every expression and every turn of his body.

Finally, after the last click, the owner walked up to him again.

"Alright, we'll use those for the promo images," she said. "Next, you'll test-drive it at the private track behind the dealership."

Lucius nodded. "Got it."

The test track was surprisingly larger than what he expected, it was a round course and clearly designed for high-speed trials.

Lucius whistled quietly as he took in the view.

"So this is the private track," he said. "It's amazing that you managed to build something like this behind your dealership."

The owner, still dressed in the same skimpy clothes, stood beside him with a proud smile. Her shorts glinted under the sunlight as if they were made of metal.

"Every great machine deserves space to breathe," she said. "And besides, people love watching test runs."

'She's definitely confident,' Lucius thought. 'Still, have to commend the the hustle.'

An employee drove the Tempest toward them and stepped out, tossing Lucius the keys.

"Boss, she's fully fueled and ready to go," the man said before stepping back.

Lucius caught the keys easily. "Good work."

He circled the car once before sliding into the driver's seat. The leather interior was soft and smelled expensive.

The dashboard gleamed with holographic indicators and smooth lines of light that responded to his touch.

'Now this… this is luxury,' he thought, running his fingers over the steering wheel. Then his eyes landed on a small blue button near the gear shift.

'Oh, and there's an auto-drive feature too? Not bad.'

He was still admiring the controls when the passenger door opened. The owner stepped in, this time wearing a hat and a light coat over her revealing top.

Lucius raised a brow. "You're the one shooting the video?"

"Yes," she said with a grin. "We can redo it as many times as we need. A video's not like a photo, so make sure you speak clearly and look at the camera while driving."

Lucius gave a short laugh. "I'll do my best."

"If you need the script, just say so," she added.

"I won't."

The owner hesitated, still clutching a backup copy in her hand. "You sure?"

"Yes," Lucius said flatly. "I'll make something up that sounds more human."

He twisted the key in the ignition, and the Tempest roared to life. The low growl of the engine sent a thrill through his chest.

"Is there anything else?" he asked.

"Nothing really. Just… drive fast. The camera drones will follow your car."

Lucius grinned. "Fast, huh? Alright then."

He pressed down on the gas pedal.

The car lurched forward like a living beast, throwing both of them back into their seats.

The acceleration was immediate. Within seconds, the Tempest was tearing down the straight track, wind howling past the windows.

'What the hell… this thing's fast!' Lucius thought as his heart raced. 'Did she put a jet engine in this car?'

The owner, who was holding a small camera, smiled when she saw the surprised look on his face.

"That's what I wanted to see," she said over the roar.

Lucius steadied the wheel and looked straight ahead. The track stretched endlessly before him, and the landscape blurred into streaks of light.

It was time for him to actually talk for the ad.

He exhaled slowly and muttered to himself, "Alright, let's wing it."
