"Hehe, I'm not hungry."

As the two of them were talking, they noticed Li Yan had stopped and was looking in a particular direction, so they also curiously looked over.

"What are you looking at?" Wen Qianyi asked, a bit surprised. Could it be that Li Yan had noticed Yu Xiaodi's mood change and was diverting her attention in this way? This guy is getting craftier!

"Did you run into someone you know? Or... hehe, just checking out beauties?" Yu Xiaodi teased with a laugh.

In the direction they were looking, they saw three men and two women talking together. One man and one woman were looking in Li Yan's direction, whispering something. Among the two women, the one looking at Li Yan was of average appearance, while the other looked like a celebrity, wearing large sunglasses that obscured her face, though she seemed to have a nice aura. Both were older than Yu Xiaodi and a couple of years older than Wen Qianyi. They were the mature lady type or perhaps already married.

"No, I don't know them..." Li Yan turned back and smiled, "The beauties are right here. With you two around, all the beauties in the airport lose their shine, so why should I look elsewhere?"

Such blatant flattery! Though the beauties laughingly scorned it, they couldn't help but feel happy hearing it.

Li Yan always stayed vigilant, especially in such crowded public places. While talking with them just now, he had been discreetly observing the surroundings. He noticed those two people were looking at and discussing them, but he didn't sense any danger. So, he assumed they were just envious of him having two beauties by his side and looked over.

If these were bystanders, they would usually avoid eye contact if caught staring. However, these two were different; not only did they not shy away, but they seemed to be inviting others to join them in watching, which left Li Yan speechless.

"Let's go, let's go!"

The three continued walking forward. Yu Xiaodi wanted to help Li Yan with his things, but he certainly didn't need it.

"Li... Li Yan!"

Suddenly a voice came from behind, causing the three of them to stop. Wen Qianyi and Yu Xiaodi both looked at Li Yan, their gazes carrying the same meaning: Didn't you say you didn't know them? Then why do they know your name?

Both began to suspect and speculate if Li Yan was deliberately avoiding them. There are usually two reasons to avoid someone: either they're an annoying person, where enemies feel especially red-eyed upon meeting, or they're an awkward old flame. Meetings of such are uncomfortable unless the breakup was cordial.

So among those five, was there someone Li Yan disliked? Or was one of them a previous lover of his? Hmm... it should be two people, right? Can't suspect the three men, can we?

Seeing their puzzled looks, Li Yan was equally baffled, as he had just looked back. If they were acquaintances, he would have greeted them. Enemies, normally, were dead and unseen. So how could they know his name?

Seeing Li Yan's innocent face, they were even more perplexed, unsure whether to believe his excellent acting or that he really didn't know. For a moment, the three stood frozen, then turned around.

The group on the other end, upon seeing them stop, seemed like they were testing the waters and began walking over, discussing among themselves.

"Do I know you?" Li Yan awkwardly smiled. It's a bit rude when someone knows your name, yet you have no recollection.

But he really couldn't remember. For the last couple of years, even if he didn't remember everyone clearly, meeting someone would usually trigger an impression. He couldn't possibly forget to the point of having no clue.

"Wow! Now you're the big boss, huh? Can't even recognize us?" The man who had been looking at him teased with a laugh. The others were still sizing up Li Yan, including taking note of the two beauties beside him.

"Sorry, my brain is like a sieve, can't remember things. Really can't recall where I met you. Is there something you need from me?" Li Yan spoke politely. After all, anyone who calls him by name, even if not close, is likely a friend of a friend.

"Li Yan, you're really something now. Pretending not to know us old classmates. Or are you afraid these two beauties might catch the eye of our guys here?" This time, it was the sophisticated lady with the sunglasses speaking.

As she spoke, she took off her sunglasses, allowing Li Yan and the others to see her true face clearly. She was definitely a beauty, mature, elegant, and womanly.

Such a beauty is quite a temptation for men. And mature only in comparison to Yu Xiaodi and Wen Qianyi; she seemed to be Li Yan's peer. Usually, he'd feel delighted. But now it was different. After experiencing a perfect cosplay performance last night, Li Yan was full, not lustful or hungry. With Wen Qianyi and Yu Xiaodi beside him, who he cared about deeply, he could face her calmly, unaffected by temptation.

"Sorry, you must have mistaken me for someone else. I didn't even finish middle school; how could we be classmates? Maybe we met at a mutual friend's gathering before?"
