The Magnificent Son-in-law

Chapter 64: Rushing to the Bar

Inside Wolf Howl Bar, Zhao Chen realized something was amiss when several attempts to make a call went unanswered.

When he heard the prompt, "Sorry, the number you dialed is turned off...", Zhao Chen's face turned completely grim.

Miao Youmin not answering his phone made Zhao Chen uneasy, leading him to suspect the police officers might have been sent by Miao Youmin?

Or perhaps Miao Youmin had met with trouble, implicating him?

Regardless of the possibility, Zhao Chen knew clearly that none of it boded well for him.

Thinking of this, determination flashed in Zhao Chen's eyes: "Take all of them with us, let's leave quickly."

At this moment, to Zhao Chen, Shi Jiaxin and the others were his Protective Talismans. Even if something went wrong later, having hostages in hand offered more security.

"Prepare to fight!" Shi Jiaxin shouted sharply, her penknife poised in front, ready to strike at any time.

The three female officers didn't hesitate, immediately tossing the cups in their hands.

"Bang!" A glass shattered, and one of Zhao Chen's men let out a miserable cry, his head now sporting a wound.

He clutched his head as red blood dripped through his fingers. It looked terrifying but was merely a superficial wound.

"Don't waste time; fight quickly and decisively!" Zhao Chen ordered coldly, feeling that the place was unsafe and needed quick relocation.

His men surged forward, while Shi Jiaxin and the others hastily gathered together, standing back-to-back to face the enemy.

They were already at a numerical disadvantage, and if they were scattered, there would be little suspense in the battle.

At this moment, Shi Jiaxin could only hope that Xiao Feng had received her message; otherwise defeat was only a matter of time.

Though trained in fighting at the police academy, none, including Shi Jiaxin, had actual combat experience. Whether they could apply their learned techniques in a real fight remained unknown.

As the confrontation began, the four held their formation tightly, but they clearly felt it could be broken at any moment.

Like a lone boat in the sea, vulnerable to being submerged by a wave in the blink of an eye.

"A group of men can't take down four women after so long, you're bloody useless!" Zhao Chen yelled. "Also, are you idiots to fight empty-handed? Can't you pick up weapons?"

With those words, his men on the outside quickly responded, handing in wine bottles, causing Shi Jiaxin and the others' hearts to sink, enveloped by a sense of despair.

Shi Jiaxin could fend off attacks with her penknife, but things changed with opponents wielding weapons.

Panicked, she saw a bottle flying at her and hastily blocked with her forearm.

"Bang!"

The bottle shattered, and Shi Jiaxin groaned in pain, feeling unbearable agony in her arm, unable to muster strength.

The others fared no better; their formation disbanded instantly, turning into individual battles, each facing opponents several times their number.

Just as Shi Jiaxin expected, once the formation was broken, the fight was over in less than half a minute. After all, you can't guard against the enemy in front while ignoring the ambush behind.

All four were tied behind with tape, and Zhao Chen waved his hand: "Let's go quickly."

A group marched grandly towards the suite's door, but at the moment of opening, an authoritative face appeared.

"Police!" Zhao Xingfeng showed his badge outside the door, his imposing aura freezing everyone.

Such was the result of experiencing battles; when angered, his presence commands awe!

After a moment of shock, Zhao Chen swiftly reacted: "Catch him!"

He didn't care anymore; being caught would definitely end badly with charges of assaulting a police officer enough to land him in serious trouble.

Already guilty of assaulting an officer, Zhao Chen considered it irrelevant—the thinking akin to serial killers, where killing one warrants execution, killing ten the same, indifferent to a few more or less.

Even Zhao Xingfeng couldn't believe that after identifying as police, they dared to take action; was there no law?

"They're over here!" Zhao Xingfeng shouted, rushing into the suite and locking the door to buy time for Xiao Feng and others.

Shi Jiaxin only mentioned being at Wolf Howl Bar, but didn't specify the room, forcing Xiao Feng and others to search room by room.

The first to hear Zhao Xingfeng's call, Officer Wang Qiang quickly brought Xiao Feng and the others.

"A chance for heroism is right here; nobody snatch it from me," said Officer Wang Qiang, rolling up his sleeves.

He had only seen Zhao Xingfeng enter the suite and close the door, naturally assuming Zhao Xingfeng was in control.

"Stop dawdling, more delay and Zhao will steal the spotlight."

"True, talk inside."

Wang Qiang nodded, then retraced steps for a running start, aiming to kick the door open, picturing Shi Jiaxin and others gazing at him in admiration.

But after a "bang," he cried out in pain, falling solidly on the ground.

Xiao Feng and others were bewildered, thinking, brother, are you kidding?

Unaware, Zhao Xingfeng had locked the door from inside to prevent Zhao Chen's escape.

Thus, Zhao Chen couldn't get out, and Wang Qiang couldn't kick in.

Two other officers helped Wang Qiang up, while Xiao Feng frowned outside the suite's door.

Despite good soundproofing, Xiao Feng heard the sound of fighting and shouting inside.

Knowing the situation wasn't good, Xiao Feng punched the suite's door.

"Bang!"

After the loud boom, the five-centimeter-thick door panel was punched through directly!

The two officers helping Wang Qiang stood stunned; was the door made of tofu?

Glancing back at Wang Qiang, their expressions turned odd.

"Actually..." Wang Qiang opened his mouth, wanting to defend himself a bit, but ultimately said nothing.

Without comparison, there's no harm; truly it wasn't him being too weak—Brother Feng was just too strong!

Xiao Feng's punch shattered his previous image in Wang Qiang and the others' minds.

They initially thought Xiao Feng was just a pretty face using women for advancement, but now saw this idea was terribly wrong.

Have you seen such a formidable pretty face?

Xiao Feng opened the door lock from inside through the hole, then pushed the door open, seeing everyone inside staring at him in shock.

For a moment, the scene was eerily silent.

Shi Jiaxin sighed in relief, having guessed at the owner of the sudden fist as Xiao Feng.

With her guess confirmed, she felt at ease; solving the problem would be easier once Xiao Feng was here.

Before seeing Xiao Feng in action, Shi Jiaxin was convinced; now, seeing Xiao Feng punch through the door panel reinforced her belief.

This feeling emerged without reason, puzzling Shi Jiaxin herself, yet it was undeniably real.

It was as if this man brought a natural sense of assurance!
