The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 446: Ambush (Part 1)

In her rush, Mei Ruyan didn't even change out of her office suit, she only casually switched to a pair of flat shoes and hurried out.

Lin Tian followed her at a moderate distance, no longer in the mood to admire her long, stocking-clad legs. He wished he could fly directly to Bai Shishi's side to rescue her.

Unfortunately, Lin Tian had no wings, so he could only follow Mei Ruyan, quickly heading towards the parking lot.

In Lin Tian's mind, Mei Ruyan was like a dashing heroine, and he originally thought she would hop on a motorcycle like last time.

But instead, she neither rode a motorcycle nor chose that red convertible Porsche but got into a black SUV.

This SUV had seven seats in total, looking very fitting for Mei Ruyan's icy and tough demeanor.

Mei Ruyan sat in the driver's seat, and naturally, Lin Tian sat in the front passenger seat.

With the handbrake pulled and Mei Ruyan stepping on the gas, the engine roared to life. The SUV shot forward.

The confined space of the parking lot seemed unable to limit Mei Ruyan's driving skills. As the speed increased, she executed several beautiful and smooth drifts around the corners. The SUV tore out of the parking lot like a beast unleashed.

Soon, the car arrived back at the entrance of Xianglong Building. Through the car window, Lin Tian could see six burly men already standing outside. The moment the car stopped, they orderly filed into the vehicle.

The six men entered one by one, without making much noise, and their speed was astonishingly quick.

Once the first person sat in the back seat, he brought up a large box from the trunk, opening it to reveal a bunch of pitch-black handguns, about more than twenty in total.

He distributed the guns to his five companions, giving each person two. Finally, he handed two to Lin Tian as well, saying, "For self-defense."

"Alright." Lin Tian smiled and nodded at him in greeting, then accepted the two handguns.

Last time at the Cultural Square, Chen Moxiang also gave Lin Tian two handguns. So he wasn't unfamiliar with them. After checking the bullets in the clips, he tucked them into his waistband.

Once the six men were on board, the car felt quite cramped. But none of them spoke; after sitting down, each closed their eyes to rest.

Judging by their seamless movements, Lin Tian deduced that these were all experts, on the same level as He Tianming.

Seeing Lin Tian's curious gaze towards the six men, Mei Ruyan said, "These are the strongest experts from our teahouse. Just call them by their codenames, from Xiao Yi to Xiao Liu. They are a team, and each has great rapport with the other. With their help, I think this time should go more smoothly."

Lin Tian nodded without speaking. Although these six were formidable, compared to himself, they were still far inferior.

With the address given by Wu Yong, Mei Ruyan activated the GPS. Worried about Bai Shishi, the car's speed stayed above 120 km/h, ignoring both the speed limit and countless red lights, but no one cared about these details.

It must be said, Mei Ruyan's driving skills were truly remarkable. Despite the bulk of the SUV, she navigated the crowded streets at such high speeds with ease, only occasionally hearing a few unpleasant curses.

Quickly, the car left the city center, getting on a narrower road with fewer vehicles.

Here, Mei Ruyan seemed even more in her element, pressing the clutch into sixth gear and accelerating the car above 150 km/h.

For the first time, Lin Tian experienced such speed, feeling his nerves stretched to the limit, exhilaratingly intense.

At some point, the sky had gathered dark clouds and fierce winds were blowing, though the rain had yet to fall.

What typically would take an hour and a half, Mei Ruyan managed in just half an hour. Lin Tian could already see a large, beautifully constructed mansion not far ahead.

Just as Lin Tian was about to cheer, suddenly the car window beside him made a loud bang, causing everyone in the car to tense up.

Lin Tian glanced over and noticed a shallow crack on the window, along with a deep mark.

Simultaneously, narrowing his eyes, he used his clairvoyant eyes to see a man in camouflage lying on a hill not far away, holding a rifle and watching them through binoculars.

"Sniper!" Xiao Yi shouted from the back of the car, his breathing becoming heavier.

Lin Tian's heart was filled with dread; if that bullet had pierced through the window, it would have been his head next.

Seeing Lin Tian's concern, Mei Ruyan said, "Don't worry, this car has been specially modified. It's bulletproof."

Only then did Lin Tian feel somewhat relieved, thankful that the car was bulletproof, otherwise, his death would have been unjust.

Just as Mei Ruyan planned to accelerate, another loud noise came from the roadside. Then, something green and oily smashed directly into the car's left front wheel.

Boom!

With a flash of light, a massive hole was blasted into the concrete road. The SUV flipped over, doing a backward somersault in the air before landing with its roof on the ground, violently shaking and emitting a loud crash.

With such a massive impact, if not for the bulletproof nature of the vehicle, everyone inside would have been crushed to death.

The passengers inside were not in great shape, especially the six behind, each marked with wounds, with two already slumped in their seats, life or death unknown.

The only ones in relatively good condition were Lin Tian and Mei Ruyan. Lin Tian had protected himself with Spiritual Qi, shielding his head immediately. Meanwhile, an airbag deployed in front of Mei Ruyan.

"Damn, it's a rocket-propelled grenade, we've been ambushed!"

Xiao Si cursed from the back, struggling in his seat, wanting to open the door and escape. But the acute pain from his body felt like it was breaking apart, making him wince and lay back.

"Quick, get out of the car, or if we're surrounded, no one will escape."

No one needed Long's reminder; Lin Tian also wanted to get out. Currently, being upside down in the seat, head down was quite uncomfortable for Lin Tian.

"Everyone, stay put, I'll go out first," Lin Tian said.

"Be careful." Everyone watched Lin Tian; no one thought he intended to flee first. Given the unknown dangers outside, Lin Tian choosing to go out first meant he might face concentrated enemy fire.

Mei Ruyan didn't speak. She patted Lin Tian's hand, gazing at him deeply, offering silent comfort.

Lin Tian nodded to her and then slowly opened the car door.

Even with Lin Tian's small movements, the sniper tracked him clearly through the scope. Without hesitation, he pulled the trigger again.

Bang!

Another thunderous shot rang out. The bullet struck the car window once more, precisely on the previous mark.

Bang!

Followed by another gunshot.

This time, the window shattered, sending glass shards scattered all over the ground.
