The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 44: Seven Bombs

"Deal the cards!" Curry didn't bother to argue with Lin Tian, determined to beat him today no matter what.

After dozens of rounds, Curry's head was drenched with sweat, while Lin Tian casually smoked the ladies' cigarette he got from Bai Shishi, looking calm and composed.

Time and again, the Ace of Spades clashed against the Ace of Hearts, so much so that even the onlookers were astonished.

"You want to beat me? Why haven't you beaten me yet?" Lin Tian was fixated on the Ace of Hearts today. "No matter how you cheat, I'll stick with this card."

Curry felt sweat streaming down his body, and the number of spectators grew. He couldn't always get the Ace of Spades, relying instead on sleight of hand to produce it.

The more spectators there were, the more times he had to use his tricks, increasing the chances of being spotted. That was the fundamental reason for all the sweat.

"Curry, are you okay?" Durant patted Curry on the shoulder, his voice full of concern.

"He's really good!" Curry finally acknowledged Lin Tian's presence.

"Be careful; both Green and I were seen through by him!" Durant whispered in Curry's ear.

Lin Tian watched Curry and Durant whispering to each other, nodding thoughtfully.

"If this keeps up, we won't be able to determine the winner. How about we switch to another game?" Curry took Durant's advice and wanted to ask Lin Tian's opinion.

"What game should we switch to?" Lin Tian asked. If it was Three Card Poker, he definitely wouldn't play.

"By the way, little brother, we've been playing for so long, and yet we don't know your name?" Durant suddenly asked.

Knowing the opponent's name might reveal whom they were facing today.

"What's your name, friend?" Curry also politely asked.

"My name?" Lin Tian didn't want to reveal his real name, primarily for self-protection.

After a moment of contemplation, Lin Tian came up with a clever pseudonym: "My English name is Woknisa!"

"Woknisar, hmm~ this name is nice!" Curry praised.

"Great!" Durant gave a thumbs-up.

Bai Shishi held back her laughter, her face turning red, while the surrounding spectators tried their best not to audibly laugh.

Some things are better meant than spoken outright; explaining too much loses the fun.

"The name is asked. Hurry up and say what game to play," Lin Tian impatiently asked.

"How about we play Dou Dizhu? Three-player Dou Dizhu?" Durant and Curry exchanged glances and suggested.

"Sure!" Lin Tian was indifferent, though he knew how to play the game, he had never actually played it.

"But for more excitement, let's change the rules—let's draw cards instead, leaving three cards for the landlord!" Curry proposed.

"Who will be the landlord?" Bai Shishi suddenly felt they wanted to team up to beat Lin Tian.

The game Dou Dizhu is all about two peasants collaborating to fight against the landlord. It's about cooperation, not solo playing.

If Lin Tian ended up as the landlord, with the other two as peasants, he'd lose terribly.

"Anyone can start, whoever is the landlord draws first!" Curry said nonchalantly.

If Lin Tian were the landlord, they could team up against him; if not, he'd be just another peasant, and the other peasant would surely assist the landlord.

Essentially, no matter if he's the landlord or peasant, as long as Lin Tian played, he'd be playing solo.

Winning by himself would be impossibly difficult!

"I'll be the landlord first!" Lin Tian sneered; since they were so eager, he would play along.

"Alright!" Curry and Durant both chuckled internally, thinking this guy was seeking his own downfall.

"Being the landlord means I draw 17 cards, right?" Lin Tian confirmed once more.

"Exactly!" Curry gestured for Lin Tian to draw his cards.

Drawing cards first was simple enough. Lin Tian quickly drew 17 cards, intentionally picking up a 3.

Next, Curry and Durant drew their cards, leaving the final three landlord cards.

Seeing the three landlord cards, Lin Tian smiled; indeed, those guys left the three smallest cards.

Tidying up his cards, Lin Tian felt confident he wouldn't lose with his hand.

Two jokers, four 2s, four As, four Ks, four 3s, and a pair of 4s!

"What's the stake?" Curry organized his cards.

"How about 500,000 per round, doubling with each bomb?" Lin Tian thought he'd definitely win, so he pushed for high stakes.

"No problem!"

Once both agreed, the game formally began.

"Pair of 4s!" Lin Tian played two cards.

"Bomb! Four 5s!" Curry fiercely tossed four cards.

"Four 6s!" Durant pretended to counter Curry, though his real intent was to make Lin Tian lose more.

"Anyone beat four Ks?" Lin Tian gently placed four cards on the table.

"No takers? Then four 3s!"

"Four 7s!"

"Four 8s!"

"Anyone for four As?" Lin Tian glanced at Curry and Hank.

"This game is huge! Seven bombs already!" The spectators were anxious about the high stakes.

Bai Shishi rarely broke a sweat; losing this game without millions wouldn't suffice, feeling they were playing quite big...

"Do you all think I'm impressive?" Lin Tian's turn to play, and he delivered a shocking statement.

Curry and Durant were stunned, unsure how to respond.

"Four 2s with two jokers, do you think I'm impressive?" Lin Tian slapped six cards on the table.

At that moment, the surrounding crowd finally realized—this play was truly impressive, someone actually played four 2s with two jokers.

"In skits, they always say Dou Dizhu must be played like this. I only heard it on the radio, didn't think I'd pull it off!" Lin Tian chuckled jubilantly.

"Is this guy genuinely dumb or just pretending?" Bai Shishi had a face palming moment.

Curry and Durant never anticipated Lin Tian would draw such an excellent hand, losing big in the first round.

A total of seven bombs!

"Shouldn't you settle up with me now?" Lin Tian reached out to Curry for the money.

"It's a total of 64 million!" Bai Shishi calculated quickly.

"Gasp!" At those words, Durant and Curry were petrified.

"How could it be that much?" Curry was mentally lost, speaking without thinking.

"Seven bombs, each bomb doubles the money; do your own math!" Bai Shishi spoke but remained internally shocked.

Who would've thought Lin Tian was so skilled?

64 million, just over 30 million away from an even 100 million.

This sum equates to nearly a year's net income for the tea shop, all won in a single Dou Dizhu round.

Bai Shishi even felt an impulse to give Lin Tian a kiss.

"What do we do now?!" Green suddenly thought his losses of little consequence.

Only lost 3 million? That's called money!
