The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 42: Still Stubborn at Death's Door

"Then let's all play together, the more the merrier!" As soon as Bai Shishi finished her sentence, a beautiful waitress immediately placed a chair next to Bai Shishi.

"So, how does it feel to win?" The first thing Bai Shishi did when she sat down was to nudge Lin Tian with her elbow.

"Great! Absolutely great!" Lin Tian replied to Bai Shishi, but his eyes were fixed on Durant.

It was shocking to see that Durant's body was stuffed with playing cards.

His wrists, chest, stomach, between his legs, and even his calves.

Over twenty playing cards were hidden all over his body.

"Hey boy, are you interested in men or something?" Feeling uneasy under Lin Tian's gaze, Durant joked.

That kind of look was really uncomfortable, as if being seen through.

With a single joke, Lin Tian immediately withdrew his gaze, laughing and saying, "Brother, you're overthinking. I'm all man!"

"You're not even fully grown yet, and you call yourself a man!" Green retorted unhappily at Lin Tian.

"Alright, let's not say too much. Before you know it, you'll be fighting instead of playing cards!" Bai Shishi tried to mediate, figuring she'd watch Durant and Green and see what tricks they might pull.

"Deal the cards!" Durant shouted to the dealer.

Once all the hands were dealt, the dealer said to Green, "First player, your turn!"

"A hundred thousand!" Without a word, Green tossed out a hundred thousand chip.

"I'll follow with a hundred thousand!" Lin Tian, the second player, spoke up directly.

"Damn, playing this big?" Durant was stunned by Green's move.

Similarly, Bai Shishi was taken aback. Starting with a hundred thousand, was it too much?

You must know, just a moment ago, she and Durant had, at most, tossed in a total of fifty thousand chips.

"A hundred thousand isn't big? We both just went all in!" Lin Tian looked at Durant with a peculiar look.

"How many rounds did you play just now?" Durant suddenly realized a problem.

"One round, went all in!" Green admitted honestly.

"..." Durant's face turned black.

"..." Bai Shishi's face turned black too.

These two really know how to play, huh?

"I'll follow!"

"I'll follow too!"

Bai Shishi and Durant both spoke up.

"First player, your turn!" The dealer gestured to Green to continue betting or to check his cards.

For safety, Green chose to check his cards and picked up three cards to see they were J2K!

With such small cards, logically Green would fold, but he didn't. Instead, he quickly combined the three cards together.

He smoothly placed the cards on the table, and taking advantage of the brief moment his hands were moving, he tucked the middle card into his sleeve with his pinky, pulling a card out from his sleeve.

When Green placed the cards on the table, the card face showed JQK!

Within a flash, his hand speed was so fast, it made Lin Tian wonder how many years this guy had been single.

Watching Green's actions, Lin Tian's face turned serious; if they continued playing like this, they might lose everything.

Having suffered a loss once, Green was unlikely to switch cards so openly again, even if he did, he had already swapped out his hole cards, putting him in an unbeatable position.

"What to do?" Lin Tian was troubled, his gaze unintentionally looking towards Bai Shishi.

Bai Shishi naturally noticed Lin Tian's gaze, and her beautiful eyes looked toward him, blinking.

Even though it was just a simple exchange of looks, Lin Tian could read Bai Shishi's eyes.

"Now's the time to make a move!" That was the answer Lin Tian gleaned from Bai Shishi's eyes.

"I'll follow!" Green tossed out two hundred thousand chips, seeing his cards wager was double the blind, which made sense.

"It's your turn?" After Green bet, Durant saw that Lin Tian hadn't moved, so he gave a friendly reminder.

"I'm not playing anymore!" Lin Tian suddenly said.

"What?" Durant exclaimed.

"Boy, what do you mean?" Green said unpleasantly.

"What's going on?" Bai Shishi also feigned a surprised expression.

"You guys are cheating, these cards can't be played!" Lin Tian said with justification.

"Kid, you'd better watch what you're saying!" Durant threatened coldly, his blue eyes glaring fiercely at Lin Tian.

Cheating at cards is taboo; cheaters are hunted down by everyone.

Food can be eaten recklessly, but words must be carefully spoken.

"Kid, if you talk nonsense, I'll make sure you can't find your teeth!" Green's fist, as big as a sandbag, slammed onto the table harshly.

"Cheating? You're saying they're cheating?" Bai Shishi continued along Lin Tian's words.

"That's right!" Lin Tian pointed at Durant and Green: "Miss Bai, they're cheating!"

"We didn't!" Durant stood up, pointing at Lin Tian's nose and cursing: "Kid, if you dare slander us, I'll beat you to death today!"

"Nobody move!" Bai Shishi also stood up, shouting sternly, shocking everyone present.

Along with Bai Shishi's voice, a group of young men in black clothes rushed over, circling the table.

A fleeting smile appeared at the corner of Bai Shishi's mouth, and she pointed to Durant and Green, asking Lin Tian, "You say they're cheating, do you have evidence?"

"Would I dare say it randomly without evidence?" Lin Tian pointed to Green's cards: "Actually, it's simple to see if there's cheating, we just need to check the cards!"

"Check the cards?" With those words, Durant and Green exchanged a glance.

Then both their expressions changed, as Durant knew very well that Green had indeed cheated just now.

"Could he really have seen through it?" Durant couldn't believe Lin Tian could uncover Green's cheating method.

"Everyone don't touch the cards, we'll start checking now!" Bai Shishi ordered, and the dealer spread the remaining cards face-up on the table one by one.

Following Bai Shishi's cue, the dealer revealed the cards of all four players one by one.

When all the cards were revealed, the spectators around exclaimed.

"Whoa, there's actually a missing 2! And an extra Q!"

"Someone is really cheating!"

"Amazing, I couldn't even tell who was cheating!"

Listening to the discussions around, Durant and Green's faces grew darker.

Both knew the situation was becoming increasingly difficult.

"The extra Q is in Green's hand; how do you two explain that?" Bai Shishi sneered at the two men, the evidence was undeniable.

I've been wanting to deal with you three for a while, and today there's finally an opportunity.

Bai Shishi naturally wouldn't miss this excellent chance to vent.

"Miss Bai, claiming we're cheating just because of an extra Q is too absurd!" Durant continued arguing: "You run the card venue; what if you and the dealer colluded to frame us?"

That statement did catch Bai Shishi off guard, leaving her momentarily speechless.

But Lin Tian was the first to speak up: "Still stubborn right to the end! Since you want to be convinced, I'll oblige!"

"If we find playing cards on you, are you going to say the dealer planted them on you?"
