The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 328: I'll Make You Pay

"I think so too!" Ye Feng's voice came through the earpiece, a bit flustered: "What we should be thinking about now is how to hide. Security personnel will be here any minute!"

"Hide!" Lin Tian not only wasn't the least bit flustered, but was exceptionally calm.

When it came to hiding, Lin Tian dared to guarantee that no one could find him.

"Let me see where to go!" Lin Tian had a quick wit, squinted his eyes slightly, and everything in front of him changed.

The entire twenty-second floor appeared in Lin Tian's vision, revealing what was in each room, where people were, and even the vault was uncovered.

"The security personnel are still some distance from here!" Lin Tian saw four people coming from two directions, presumably heading for the alarm system.

"Don't rush, I'm checking the escape route!" Ye Feng's panicked voice sounded.

Unfortunately, Ye Feng's water cannot quench Lin Tian's thirst for urgency; Lin Tian's eyes continued scanning the entire floor, and finally settled on the ceiling above.

He noticed that the ceiling was hollow, with just enough space to fit a person.

He placed his right hand on his waist, inserted two silver needles into the wall, and Lin Tian's body shot upward.

With both hands, he removed the ceiling panel above his head, grabbed onto the inside, and slowly lifted his body upward.

Once his entire body was inside, Lin Tian retracted the wires and covered the panel back.

Tap! Tap!

The sound of leather shoes hitting the floor echoed as two security personnel, both holding black pistols, appeared where Lin Tian had just stood.

"Strange, the alarm went off, but the person is gone!" One security officer said, perplexed as he glanced around.

"Maybe they hid. Let's keep searching!" The other officer tucked his black pistol back into its holster, and the two continued to patrol.

Above them, Lin Tian hunched in the ceiling's hidden layer, not daring to breathe heavily.

"No, I can't just let them get away with it!"

Lin Tian's gaze fixed on the emergency exit, where he saw four shadows standing just beyond the door. Although their faces were masked, hiding their expressions, Lin Tian could tell from their body language that these four were feeling quite smug.

"Heh, enjoying the feeling of ambushing someone, huh?" Lin Tian muttered to himself, shifting slowly within the layer.

As he approached close to the emergency exit, Lin Tian watched two security officers not far away. Carefully, he moved aside a ceiling panel, and a silver needle shot from his hand toward the emergency door.

Clang!

The sound was not loud, yet it was clearly heard by everyone.

The two security officers immediately turned their heads, scanning the corridor.

Clang!

Lin Tian tossed another silver needle at the door, setting the officers' sights on the emergency exit. They exchanged glances, drew their guns, and cautiously approached…

Seeing the security personnel being drawn over, Lin Tian was secretly delighted. His gaze then returned to the four shadows behind the door, observing them using hand signals to presumably discuss countermeasures.

"Nineteenth floor and twenty-third floor be advised, there's something suspicious at the twenty-second-floor emergency exit. We're going in together!" One officer whispered into his radio.

Lin Tian initially thought of giving the security personnel a hint to seal the escape route for those four, but these personnel, indeed ones sought out by Chen Moxiang from the Security Management Institute, had prepared extensive countermeasures.

The security personnel were enclosing the four shadows from three directions. Seemingly expecting this, one among the shadows ran upward, another downward, leaving two in the corner.

Click!

One security officer pulled out a key to open the emergency exit, while the other drew a pistol and aimed inside.

Suddenly, a shadow lunged forward, rushing at the armed officer.

Luckily, this officer was well-trained, and his first response was to pull the trigger.

"Bang!"

The gunshot broke the night's silence, ringing in their ears.

"They really fired!" Lin Tian watched, stunned. This was supposed to be a test... no need for live ammo, right?

That shot would either kill or cripple someone!

However, Lin Tian soon realized something was off. The gun fired, but the scene was not as expected.

Instead of a bloody massacre, the shadow hit by the bullet fell, eyes wide open but unable to move.

"Seems like the gun wasn't loaded with real bullets!"

Lin Tian quickly concluded that the gun the security officer held was likely equipped with tranquilizer-like ammunition.

It could easily subdue without causing any lasting harm!

Seeing the officer subdue a black-clad figure, recalling Chen Moxiang's promise of double bonuses for capturing someone this month, the officers were ecstatic!

Yet, in this brief gap, a shadow suddenly emerged from the exit, kicking one officer, then sprinted down the hall.

Seeing this, Lin Tian finally understood why the shadows split up.

The ones going up, down, and the one that just rushed out were merely decoys to distract the security, with the real aim being to ensure one among them escapes the emergency exit.

This way, the team maintained a sliver of hope, a chance to pass the test.

But would Lin Tian grant them this hope?

"Dare to ambush me? You'll pay the price!" Watching the shadow dash toward him from the ceiling, Lin Tian's lips curled in a sly grin!

The shadow ran fast, after all, sacrificing three teammates for him; if caught, their only hope would vanish. So he sprinted with all his might.

As the shadow approached, Lin Tian's smile deepened, the palm of his right hand already holding a silver needle glinting coldly.

"Bang!"

The shadow bolted swiftly, but suddenly felt a sting in his calf, and immediately lost balance, crashing to the ground with a dull thud, a heavy fall!

"Oh!" The shadow cried out, knee hitting the tile painfully.

Yet, knowing two security guards were chasing behind, he quickly got up, trying to keep running.

However, the fall drove his knee sharply into the tile floor. Given the speed and his body weight, his knee was too painful to bend.

Running was simply impossible.

"Don't move, or I'll shoot!" After taking two steps, the shadow heard the security personnel's voice behind him.

"Don't shoot, I surrender!" Realizing escape was futile, the shadow raised his hands high.
