The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 264: Overestimating Oneself

Lin Tian hid in a corner of the small temple, quietly observing the surroundings, when he was suddenly startled by a voice.

He seemed to be well hidden, so how was he discovered?

Or maybe Wu Yong was discovered?

This thought not only crossed Lin Tian's mind but Wu Yong, hiding behind a tree, also froze, thinking perhaps Lin Tian was discovered?

No way, right?

Lin Tian was hiding behind the wall; it shouldn't have been possible to be discovered, right?

No matter what the situation was, Lin Tian decided to reveal himself, no matter if the other party was a demon or ghost, he had to meet them.

A blurred figure appeared at the entrance of the small temple, immediately attracting the attention of Xiaogang and Li.

"Is it you?" When Xiaogang saw Lin Tian, he was greatly surprised: "Were you following me?"

"I wouldn't call it following!" Lin Tian strolled into the room, glancing around, seeing a bronze tripod, a peach wood sword, puppets, paper figures, and various Dharma artifacts and tools...

"Whether following or not, I can only say you came at just the right time!" Xiaogang, after recovering from his shock, smiled with delight.

Originally, he came to find Li today to get rid of Lin Tian, never expecting Lin Tian to follow him right into the trap.

This would save a lot of time...

"Li, the person I wanted you to help with today is him!" Xiaogang pointed at Lin Tian and said.

"Understood!"

Li waved his duster, addressing Lin Tian: "Young man, sorry, but the heavens demand your life!"

Lin Tian pointed at his opponent's nose and cursed: "I really hate people like you who are always mumbling superstitiously!"

Damn, haven't even started fighting and there's a bunch of nonsense, where's all this rubbish coming from?

Have you been a charlatan for so long that you're just a big deceiver?

"Young man, such filthy language, where's your decency?" Li flicked the duster in his hand, his expression still emotionless.

"Don't bother me with your useless nonsense, and don't stand on some moral high ground to accuse me of this or that!"

Lin Tian looked down on this sanctimonious Li: "How about I slap you and tell you about the endless cycle of revenge?"

Although Lin Tian didn't actually slap Li, his words hit hard as a slap would!

"Lin Tian, you really have no fear of death; Li isn't someone you can just provoke!" Xiaogang spoke with a serious face yet with schadenfreude in his eyes.

"Birds of a feather really do flock together, I didn't understand this before, but now I do!"

Lin Tian looked at the two, laughing coldly: "Both of you are like two lumps of stinking dog shit, both smelly and hard!"

"You're looking for death!" Li, who hadn't moved, was now completely enraged, waving his duster at Lin Tian.

Lin Tian sneered, thinking such an attack could actually hit him?

Using force on his right leg to move his body, Lin Tian was surprised to find he couldn't move at all.

"What's going on?" Lin Tian looked at his own body in astonishment, finding it entirely unresponsive.

The duster swept across his face, unable to dodge, Lin Tian was hit directly and fell to the ground with a scream.

"Take this as a lesson!" Li pulled back the duster with his right hand, the white tassels draped over his left hand, examining the fallen Lin Tian.

"This is really unbelievable!" Lin Tian, caught off guard, took a hit, rubbed his head, and got up off the ground again.

"This Li must have secretly used a trick during their fight, truly a sly individual!" Lin Tian thought to himself, but outwardly taunted defiantly: "Come on, keep hitting!"

"Overestimating oneself!" Li waved the duster again.

Indeed, once more Lin Tian found himself unable to move his body, likely due to some method Li used during his attacks, making his body helpless as if laid out for slaughter.

Lin Tian wasn't a fool, provoking after being hit once meant he surely had a plan!

"Tyrant Emperor's Record!" Lin Tian silently recited, invoking the Tyrant Emperor's Record, placing himself into a clear state of mind.

Slightly moving his hand, Lin Tian found he could control his body again.

"Die!" Lin Tian, his stiff body suddenly struck out with a powerful uppercut.

Just as Li's duster was about to hit Lin Tian, a confident and smug smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

Unexpectedly, Lin Tian moved, his fist, as big as a sandbag, smashed directly into Li's chin. Li felt his vision go dark, his body spun 180 degrees with an additional 360-degree twist, slamming heavily to the ground, the dust on the ground flying everywhere in the room.

"You really thought I was that easy to bully?" Lin Tian snorted coldly at Li, who was lying on the ground!

"Daoist!" Xiaogang hurriedly went over to help him up.

With Xiaogang's support, Li wobbled and barely stood up.

"Cough, cough!" Li coughed, spitting out a mouthful of blood.

"Seems I underestimated you!" Li touched his dislocated jaw, using his right hand to maneuver it back in place with a "click."

The dislocated jaw was reattached.

"Did you enjoy my punch?" Lin Tian didn't forget to taunt.

But Li ignored Lin Tian entirely, raising the duster: "I summon spirits, obey my command, rise!"

Xiaogang retreated fearfully; no one dared to say whether magic could hurt people, better to stay away, what if innocent bystanders were injured?

A serious look flashed in Lin Tian's eyes; he was experienced in fighting, but when it came to magic, this was his first time, who knew what might happen!

Suddenly, the eyes of the puppets arranged in the room glowed red and began to stand up, one red light, two red lights, three…

In just moments, eight puppets were standing in the room, their limbs moving, their heads turning like they were alive.

"This time you're doomed!" Li's smile bore confidence once again.

Lin Tian looked at the palm-sized puppets, his first reaction, how formidable could such small things be?

"I thought it would be some powerful magic, turns out it's just this!" Lin Tian snorted; if the puppets were human-sized, and eight of them, he might feel some stress.

"Easy to handle you!" Li smiled confidently.

"Hey, smelly Daoist, so confident before the fight even begins?" Lin Tian slipped his right hand into his pocket, a confident smile playing at his lips as well.

With both showing confident smiles, it indicated they each thought the other inadequate; the best solution now was to fight it out and see who would laugh in the end.

Perhaps the phrase 'laugh in the end' comes from this, as the result is often one laughing and one crying!

"Soon you'll know how powerful these puppets are!"

Li waved his duster: "Go!"

The eight puppets, as if possessed, dashed forward deliriously, charging at Lin Tian like hungry wolves...
