Outside the entrance of Godlike Internet Cafe.
Watching Wu Yong, who had just lost five games in a row in League of Legends, Lin Tian handed him a cigarette.
Wu Yong lit the cigarette, "It's so late, what do you want?"
"If you're meeting a girl for a hotel room, I won't disturb you!"
Lin Tian lit a cigarette too, "It's not a hotel meeting, I'm going to do something dangerous and exciting!"
Wu Yong suddenly got interested, "Tell me more!"
"My boss wants me to sneak into someone's house to eavesdrop on information!" Lin Tian truthfully said, trying to scare Wu Yong off, "If we're caught, that's burglary!"
"Shit!"
"That exciting?"
"No way, I must go with you!"
The result was the complete opposite of what Lin Tian had imagined.
Lin Tian stood there with a face full of black lines; damn, the plot wasn't following his expected script!
Burglarizing a house, usually just the mention of it would strike fear in anyone, right?
But Wu Yong wasn't just unafraid, he seemed to have a faint thrill about him.
"Aren't you afraid?"
"Afraid of what? Eavesdropping isn't stealing, at most we'll get beaten up!"
"It's better than losing five games in a row and getting screwed over by teammates!"
"I don't care, I'm not going online today, I'm going with you, and you can't leave me hanging!"
With his mind set, Wu Yong was determined to follow Lin Tian even if it meant going through hell.
"Alright then, I'll take you along!" Lin Tian felt a vague sense of worry.
With his skills, even if discovered, it wouldn't be easy to catch him.
At the very least he could fight and run, whereas Wu Yong couldn't fight and couldn't run fast.
"If we take you, we need to prepare in advance. Going directly would be too risky!" Lin Tian said, frowning.
"Of course we can't just go like that!"
"Haven't you seen on TV how small-time crooks cover their faces well to avoid being identified?"
Wu Yong casually remarked, but the listener took it to heart.
Right.
Just cover the face.
How did I not think of that!
Lin Tian said troubledly, "But what to use to cover the face? It's so late, are we going to find a place to buy black cloth?"
They use a piece of black cloth on TV, but where would they find black cloth at this hour?
"A mask would work too!" Wu Yong suggested.
Lin Tian shook his head, "No, a mask won't cover the eyes, half the face is still exposed!"
"Then buy masks, masks cover the face and only expose the eyes, no one will see our faces clearly!" Wu Yong suggested again.
"Masks?" Lin Tian laughed, "Good idea, let's go buy some masks!"
Decision made, the two of them took a cab straight to the mall.
Fortunately, it wasn't too late, and the mall was still open. The two headed straight to the toy section of the children's department.
They walked into a shop, and Lin Tian asked, "Boss, do you have any ghost face masks?"
"No ghost face masks, everything here is for kids; ghost face masks are too scary!"
"But I do have some new masks; want to take a look?" The shop owner signaled Lin Tian to follow him and take a look.
Walking into the shop, the owner pointed at a pile of masks on the shelf and introduced them, "This is an Ultraman mask, this is a Sun Wukong mask, this is..."
"No skull masks?" Lin Tian wanted ghost face masks that could both hide the appearance and shock at critical moments.
The shop owner said, "This is all I have, you might want to check another store!"
"I see!" Lin Tian looked at the time, thinking it might be too late to go elsewhere as they might be closed.
He gritted his teeth and pointed at two masks, "I'll take these two!"
"Are you sure?" The shopkeeper picked up the two masks, which were entirely different from what Lin Tian had wanted.
Lin Tian was certain, "These two!"
Leaving the toy section, the two prepared to catch a cab to their destination.
Once in the taxi, the driver asked, "Where to?"
Lin Tian took out the note Bai Shishi had given him and glanced at the address.
"Nanshan Villa!" Lin Tian said from the front passenger seat.
"Huh?" The taxi driver was visibly startled before he started driving.
"What's up? Is there something strange?" Noticing the cab driver's expression, Lin Tian curiously asked.
"You two don't look like the type to live in Nanshan Villa!"
The driver spoke frankly, "Nanshan Villa and Donghu Mingde are Kanyue City's two most expensive villa districts, one located in the city center, and the other is on the outskirts of Nanshan, which is why it's called Nanshan Villa!"
"Is it far?" Lin Tian wasn't concerned with what kind of community Nanshan Villa was, just how far it was, as it all added to the fare.
"Not too far, just a bit out of the way!"
The driver continued, "Nanshan is already a suburb, and you have to take mountain roads to get up there, so it's mostly a place where rich people go to stay during the weekends and then return!"
"Are you guys going to visit someone?" The driver noticed Lin Tian and Wu Yong each carrying a bag and inquired.
"Yes, a friend lives up there!" Lin Tian smiled.
"Make sure to get back early!"
"Not many taxis there at night, hard to get one!" The driver kindly reminded.
"Thanks, our friend will drive us back!"
During the ride, Lin Tian chatted with the taxi driver about all sorts of things and essentially got a good understanding of Nanshan Villa.
Basically, the area was built on a mountain top, with very strict security measures, accessed by just one mountain road, with the rest being forests or parks.
But since it's at the top of a mountain, there must be places that are inconvenient to patrol.
"How much longer till we get there, driver?" Lin Tian felt they'd been in the taxi for at least half an hour.
"Turn around the corner, and we'll be there soon!" The driver pointed at a turn up ahead.
"Stop here!" Lin Tian suddenly said.
"Getting off here?" The driver seemed surprised but complied, pulling over since he was the customer.
After Lin Tian painfully paid nearly two hundred in fare, he got off with a heavy heart.
Once out of the car, he waved Wu Yong over, "Let's split up and scout the area first to understand it, in case we need to make a run for it if anything goes wrong!"
Wu Yong nodded, and they split up down the road, one going left, the other right.
Like residents out for an evening stroll, there were luckily enough people like them on the mountain, so they didn't stand out.
Ten minutes later, Lin Tian and Wu Yong met up, "How was your side?"
"Surrounded by trees and high walls enclosing the whole villa area!" Wu Yong described his side.
"Fewer trees on my side, but there's a small park with lots of dancing aunties!" Lin Tian puzzled over how to get into Nanshan Villa.
