I Become The Richest Man With A monthly Salary of Twenty Thousand Yuan

Chapter 236: Human-shaped Money

These campus delivery orders were always hot-ticket items; if he hadn't been quick enough, he definitely would have missed out.

Five minutes later, Xia Liang walked out of the fruit shop carrying a bag of takeout. Under the stunned gazes of the shop attendants, he climbed into his Aston Martin and sped away.

Before long, the sports car pulled over to the curb near the plaza. The jewelry store was on the ground floor with its entrance facing the street, so there was no need to find the parking garage.

Zhou Liufu Gold Shop was bustling today, with several salesgirls busy attending to customers.

Liu Ying, however, was an exception. She had no customers, and her eyes lit up when she saw a sports car pull up at the entrance.

That sports car is so cool! The owner must be a tycoon. He must be here to buy gold jewelry. I have to seize this opportunity; my commission for the month is set!

The car door slid upward and opened.

A foot stepped out, followed by a handsome and dashing figure exuding an overwhelming charisma...

A delivery guy? Gasp! I must be seeing things.

She rubbed her eyes and looked again.

"..."

Still a delivery guy.

She was dumbstruck. While she was lost in her stupor, Xia Liang had already walked into Zhou Liufu Jewelry. He glanced around.

Wow, business is really good.

Then he approached the only free salesgirl, Liu Ying.

"Hello, did you order fruit for delivery?" he asked.

"Oh, our manager ordered that. I'll take it!" Liu Ying said, snapping out of her daze and hurrying forward to take the bag.

"Don't sneak any bites now. Be careful, or the manager will dock your pay!" Xia Liang joked, seeing her bewildered expression.

After speaking, he turned to leave.

RATTLE...

With a loud clatter, the rolling shutter was pulled down.

"This is a robbery! Everybody on the ground, now!" a gruff voice shouted.

From the crowd that had been looking at jewelry, two tall figures emerged. Both carried backpacks, and one of them brandished a small dagger. By the shuttered entrance stood another large man, a handgun held menacingly in his hand.

"Ouch!"

"Don't kick! I'm getting down, I'm getting down!"

A chorus of wails followed as the two thugs with daggers kicked the standing customers and salesgirls to the ground one by one.

Seeing things turn sour, Xia Liang quickly pulled Liu Ying down to the floor with him. It wasn't that he was afraid to fight back, but the situation was chaotic. With the man at the door holding a gun, one misstep could easily lead to someone getting hurt.

"You there, the manager! Go pack up all the gold for me, and don't try anything funny!" the gunman threatened, pointing his weapon at a man in a suit who looked like the manager. The two knife-wielding thugs threw their backpacks on the ground and stood by, watching everyone's every move.

The manager trembled but didn't dare resist. He shakily picked up the backpacks and went behind the counters, filling them with jewelry from one display case after another. The gunman's eyes never left him, clearly worried he might try to press a silent alarm. It was common knowledge that jewelry stores and banks had hidden alarms for emergencies. The manager had indeed thought of it, but the robber was too cautious; he had no chance at all.

About ten minutes later, the manager, shaking with fear, placed the two bulging backpacks on the ground. "It's... it's all packed!" he stammered, before lying down on the floor again.

His will to survive was incredibly strong. And rightfully so. If the gold was stolen, it wasn't his personal loss; his life was what mattered most.

The gunman waved at the two with knives, signaling for them to retreat. The pair moved in sync, backing away slowly while keeping their eyes on the crowd.

Just as they were about to reach the door and open the shutter, the gunman's eyes lit up. He had noticed Xia Liang. Or more precisely, the Rolex on Xia Liang's wrist.

Damn it, I almost missed the most valuable piece!

"Kid, take off the watch," he ordered, taking two steps forward and threatening Xia Liang with the gun.

The people on the ground stared in astonishment, their gazes all turning toward Xia Liang. Some were puzzled, while a few in the know looked shocked.

Good heavens, a Rolex. A watch worth twelve thousand yuan, on a delivery boy? Judging by its condition, it's definitely genuine. What rotten luck!

The gunman stared at the Rolex on Xia Liang's wrist, his eyes filled with greed.

"Don't, don't kill me! I'll take it off!" Xia Liang cried out, trembling all over as he lifted his hand to remove the watch. His hand shook so badly that he fumbled with the clasp several times.

The gunman's eyes widened, his impatience growing. Just then, the watch finally came off. Xia Liang raised it with a trembling hand. The robber's face lit up, and he moved to grab it.

At that exact moment, a wicked smile curved Xia Liang's lips.

He suddenly threw the watch, smashing it directly into the gunman's face. The watch was a hard object, and when thrown with full force, the impact was no less than being hit in the face with a stick. The robber's nose broke instantly.

"Ah! It hurts!" the gunman cried, instinctively raising a hand to his face.

Human reflexes can be terrifyingly fast; a moment of inattention can be fatal.

Perfect opportunity!

Xia Liang sprang to his feet and charged forward, grabbing the robber's gun-wielding right hand. He followed up with a swift, incredibly fierce elbow strike.

CRACK!

The bone in the man's arm snapped, and the pistol clattered to the ground. Xia Liang immediately executed a shoulder throw, hurling the gunman toward his two knife-wielding accomplices.

Hearing their leader's screams, the other two knew something was wrong and started to move to help, but they were too late.

BANG!

They were struck by their accomplice's flying body and all three collapsed to the ground in a heap.

Xia Liang swiftly advanced, stomping viciously on each of their legs. One stomp per leg was all it took to cripple them. It was extremely violent, but it was the most effective solution for the situation.

"AHHH!!!"

The three men screamed in agony, their leg bones shattered.

The others in the jewelry store were still frozen in fear from the robbery, never imagining the situation would be reversed so suddenly.

The manager was dumbfounded. "This… this..."

Everyone else wore expressions of utter disbelief. They were astonished by Xia Liang's courage and decisiveness but also shocked by his brutal violence. Not a single person, however, felt any sympathy for the three robbers. They wouldn't pity these thieves. One was even armed with a gun—a crime that, if prosecuted to the fullest extent, could warrant the death penalty.

Liu Ying stared at the scene before her, a storm raging in her heart.

Is this a delivery guy? Can a delivery guy be this handsome? Can a delivery boy afford a twelve-thousand-yuan watch? Can a delivery guy be agile enough to take down three robbers in an instant? I must still be dreaming...

WEE-WOO! WEE-WOO! WEE-WOO!

Just then, sirens wailed outside. Police cars swarmed the entrance of Zhou Liufu Gold Shop, surrounding the building.

The team was led by Yun Bing. She was furious. Ten minutes earlier, she had received a call from someone claiming to be a viewer of a live stream, reporting an armed robbery at the Zhou Qifu Plaza store. At first, she was skeptical. Gun control in the country was incredibly strict, so how could there be an armed robbery? But as the caller's description became more and more realistic, she had no choice but to believe it and decisively led a team to investigate.
