Transmigrated as An Extra In My Novel's First Draft

Chapter 34: Dance Club [3]

Pointing to her right, where a girl with long black hair, tied into a ponytail, stood, the teacher smiled and said.

"All you have to do is copy her. She will perform a move, and you will imitate it."

Letting her words echo throughout the massive theater for a moment, the teacher paused before continuing."

"At any moment, from now on, you may be asked to leave. If you are, please exit gracefully without disturbing other dancers. There are no rebuttals."

"Only about ten out of a hundred will make it, so I hope you understand our situation."

Nodding, I simply tilted my head and locked onto the girl now standing in the middle of the aisle with her hands by her side, like a statue.

*BANG*

At that moment, as a resounding bang reverberated, the speakers above the stage began blaring, playing a familiar tune.

My body began shaking as the beat entered my ears.

Ah...what are the odds?

During my writing session back on earth, I, of course, had to listen to music while writing.

Out of all those songs playing through my headphones, only two had been added to this book.

Of course, there could be more: this world could randomly add them without my writing.

But this one, I had specifically put in.

At The Beach, In Every Life

Bitterly smiling as the familiar song, my mind had wished to hear my descent into this world, I found myself in a world of my own.

I used to listen to music all the time, every waking second back on earth, I had my AirPods in.

Yet...in this world, it seemed I didn't have the time.

The thought of music hadn't even crossed my mind until now...when back on Earth, I couldn't go a second without it.

*WHOOSH*

Suddenly, as a gust of wind rushed against my face, all the people beside me vanished, even the teacher sitting in the audience watching us.

When I looked forward, all I could see was the hundreds of rows of velvet-red seats and...only the figure of the black-haired student.

Her face, body... was gone.

The light bulbs above me seemed to malfunction, as the world became shrouded in darkness.

The world was silent, colorless, and motionless.

Then, it came.

The same voice that had coursed through my ears while I eagerly wrote at my desk.

"I never knew, I never knew you had...such a filthy mouth."

"But you love me like my mother."

"And you kiss me like your wife."

An indescribable emotion, one I thought to be filled with nostalgia and sadness, filled my brain.

Memories came flooding in: images of parents looking down at me with their overly joyful smiles.

The tears that dripped down my mom's face as she reluctantly sent me off to college.

The soft and warm feeling of my dad's hand on my shoulder as he comforted me while I stared at that college rejection letter.

Their warm embraces.

I want to crumble, fall down, run into their arms.

The world before me began shining a light blue as two familiar figures, their faces covered by a blurry cloud, appeared in the audience.

I couldn't see their face...but that height, that hand, that arm...I remembered it.

How could I ever forget it?

Their figures, shining a light blue, sat down in the middle of the theatre, and though I couldn't see their eyes, I could feel their gazes on me.

It was beautiful...their figures single-handedly lit up the theatre, devoid of any light.

Ah...they're watching.

My face subconsciously distorting into a smile, I moved my leg to the right, perfectly imitating the student before me.

Simultaneously, cascades of flowers, shaped by the blue light of the figures, fell down from the sky.

It was as if I had been transported into a blue cherry blossom field.

I remembered this scene.

It had been my sophomore year of college.

My body subconsciously moved to mimic the figure before me, perhaps even surpassing it at some point.

But I was too focused on trying to recall that memory.

I had it.

It was the tip of my mind...slowly being uncovered.

Yet...at that moment, everything shattered.

*CLAP*

*CLAP*

As two resounding claps sounded, the two blue holographic figures instantly crumbled, vanishing into thin air.

The lightbulbs suddenly powered on, removing the blue light entirely, and when I looked forward...the black-haired girl was back, her clear eyes visible to me.

The familiar song suddenly disappeared as well, sending my mind into absolute chaos as silence returned to the theater.

No... no... I want to go back.

How do I go back?

I wanted to scream out, demand they turn the lights off, vanish once again, and play the speaker, but I didn't.

Because...I knew it was all simply a daydream.

As I glanced around, I quickly realized there were only nine remaining students still on the stage beside me.

Yet, I didn't feel happy.

Is that the last time...I'm going to see them?

"Congratulations, the nine of you have made it through the applications. Welcome to the dance team! All of you will receive a text message sh-"

Ignoring the teacher's words, I clenched my hands together, looking down to hide my wet face, and began walking off the stage.

Glancing to my right, where a familiar girl with snow-white hair and matching eyes stood on the stage, I bit my lip.

I see...why she dances.

Dance wasn't simply...dance in this world.

It was a way to bring back forgotten memories.

Nobody knew of dance's true purpose, besides her and I.

She had the same expression as me, perhaps even more sorrowful, her eyes showing a tinge of sadness in contrast to their normal neutral glint.

It seemed she had reached a past memory as well.

Flooding out of the theater, alongside the other nine students, I put on my hood and prepared to walk out when a sudden force gripped my shoulder, holding me in place.
