Levi the Whirlwind tore through the battlefield in the form of a cyclone, with his twin sabers carving arcs of wind that shredded entire groups of monsters at once. Beside him, "Titan-Slayer" Gregor, a towering man wielding a colossal greataxe, cleaved down beast after beast in wide sweeps. A few steps back, "Aurora" Mei Lin, draped in flowing silks of radiant light, raised barriers to shield both civilians and fighters, while her other hand released beams of condensed starlight that scorched holes clean through monster skulls.
The helicopter zoomed out, showing dozens more awakened, some blasting with fire or ice, others summoning beasts or weaving chains of steel. The tide of monsters seemed to come endlessly, yet every second more were cut down. Civilians, trapped in the chaos only moments ago, were being herded into safe zones, carried away on summoned wings of light or shielded by summoned walls of stone.
The commentator's voice rang out, brimming with awe and patriotic fervor.
"Look at this, ladies and gentlemen! Witness it with your own eyes! The United States is not to be outdone, no matter what the world throws at us! From coast to coast, our awakened stand tall, united against the monstrous tide! Today they fight for every citizen, every home, every street! No matter the odds, our brave warriors will not falter!"
He kept raving on and on about the brave heroes of the United States, making the message more than clear:
Hope still burned, and America's awakened were its flame.
…
Kaiden's blade, made of the blood of his enemies, ripped through the monster's thick hide, making its blood spray across the asphalt. The greedy Blood Monarch's Gauntlet drank it up in the next moment, even before the beast shrieked and collapsed.

'The XP gain from this tiger monster is nothing like that of the Obsidian Terror, but still… Only four levels but sixty skill points to be spent…' Kaiden felt great. The amount of skill points gained showed that he was fighting difficult monsters based on the stats, but thanks to his abilities getting OP, they weren't as big a challenge as before. But it wasn't just his upgraded skills; with each passing day, he was getting more acclimated to combat and his class.
His body and mind were getting more comfortable with this whole new world he was thrown into, making him a significantly better fighter altogether.
But that was enough analyzing in this risky situation, Kaiden reasoned. Just as he dismissed the status screen, a radiant shield flared to life around his body. Mei Lin stood a short distance away with the silken sleeves of her Chinese dress billowing as starlight coiled around her.
"You're doing great, keep it up, newbie," she called out to him. Her voice was bright with earnest admiration. "Honestly, I don't understand what all the hate around you is about. Though, to be fair, I'm pretty out of the loop, I've been busy recently."
Kaiden snorted before stepping forward to carve through another monster with a brutal strike of his greatsword. "Just the grunts of a fat pig."
For a heartbeat, Mei Lin's smile transformed. Her eyes darkened, and her tone lowered. "Newbie, I don't know about you, but from where I come from… fat pigs are meant to be slaughtered."
Kaiden's lips curled into a dark chuckle, "Oh, he will squeal. Don't you worry."
"Hehehe. Good, newbie! I like your attitude."
"Oi, Mei Lin!" Levi's voice roared above the chaos. "Your sadism's seeping out again. Use it to kill more monsters, not flirt with the rookie on the job! Don't you see that silver-haired girl? You're about to be shot in the back!"
"Huh?" The Chinese woman gasped, looked at Aria, and understood instantly. "Aye aye, captain!" Mei Lin sing-songed back, before flashing Kaiden and Aria both a playful wink. Her aura flared bright again, making starlight beams lance through a charging beast as she twirled gracefully back into the fray.
The battlefield raged on for hours, and then for days. The monsters kept coming, wave after wave, and every time, Kaiden and his girls found themselves shoulder to shoulder with America's strongest. Levi's cyclones swept aside hordes, Gregor's axe shattered titans, Mei Lin's radiant beams tore apart armored beasts, and through it all, Kaiden and his Sinsworn Valkyries carved their legend deeper into the chaos.
The following week blurred together in a cycle of blood, sweat, and exhaustion. Day after day, Kaiden and his harem deployed alongside the Awakened Association's elite task forces. For the first time, their paths weren't just personal; they were part of an organized front, united by the sheer necessity of saving human lives.
Indeed, they agreed to join forces with the government in this crisis. They weren't alone, however, as many other awakened felt it was their duty to help humanity survive. Of course, the tantalizing proposal of farming XP on Earth, enjoying home ground advantage instead of diving into hostile dungeons with crazy environments, helped a lot as well.
Nevertheless, Valhalla's Sinners couldn't be careless, for the debacle of the assassination attempt still loomed over them. An insider had leaked Kaiden's registration data, nearly costing them their lives. They weren't about to let that mistake repeat itself.
The first precaution was simple: Grace, the chairman's secretary, personally promised Kaiden and his women that such a breach would not happen again under her watch. She was visibly angered by the revelation of betrayal within the Association, and swore that every layer of security would be tightened until trust was restored.
The second safeguard was something they'd already deployed once in the undead dungeon.
Throughout this week of constant fighting, their broadcasts were placed under a heavy delay, so long that by the time their footage was shown, Kaiden and his girls were already elsewhere. No one, no matter how resourceful, would be able to use their streams to pinpoint their location in real time if they did this.
And so, for seven days, this became their life. War by day, healing and brief moments of laughter and warmth by night. By the seventh evening, they finally found themselves sprawled across their oversized harem bed, battered but intact, limbs tangled in the kind of exhausted intimacy only a harem of warrioresses and their chosen man could share after fighting side by side.
Kaiden let out a slow sigh as Luna's head rested against his chest, Aria clinging to his arm, Nyx seated behind him, currently busy providing a heavenly shoulder massage, and Bastet purred while licking his jewel sack up and down.
Then the phone rang.
Every gaze turned toward the device vibrating on the nightstand. Kaiden reached over with a grunt, eyes narrowing when the caller ID lit up. It wasn't Grace. It wasn't the Association. It was a government number, one he didn't recognize.
"Kaiden Grey speaking."
The line was silent for a moment, and then a firm, commanding voice came through. The weight of authority was clear in every spoken syllable.
"Mr. Grey, good evening. I apologize for disturbing your rest. My name is General William Harper, Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff."
The girls went stiff all around him, and Kaiden's eyes hardened.
