The Holy Envoy lying at the bottom of the Seine River clutched the parchment scroll tightly, his eyes brimming with fury!
Of the nine Atlantis Continent map fragments, one had been snatched away by a group of mysterious black-clad figures. The remaining fragments located in the Egyptian Pyramids, Mediterranean Region, and the Louvre were the easiest to obtain!
But even so, the members sent to Egypt were completely annihilated. Those dispatched to the Mediterranean ended up alerting the Papal Court of Light, resulting in both the members and the map fragment falling into their hands. Now only the map fragment at the Louvre remained!
If that weren't the case, he wouldn't have come personally! But even then, he found that the Papal Court of Light had no intention of backing down; instead, they had followed him here!
Originally, he was poised to acquire four map fragments, yet now only one was in his possession! This left the Holy Envoy of Hell's Gate feeling completely stifled!
At the same time, he was well aware that his status within Hell's Gate was not as high as outsiders might imagine. If he failed to bring back even one map fragment, the punishment awaiting him would be unimaginable. Thinking about this, he couldn't help but shudder.
"I must take this map back, no matter what!" The Holy Envoy took a deep breath and then cast a resentful glance toward Hans and Archbishop Berkeley hovering in midair!
During his extended time at the bottom of the Seine River, the Holy Envoy's originally shattered arm had gradually healed. While he still felt a bit unfamiliar with it, he had regained basic combat ability.
"Hmph, trying to compete with us Abyssal Creatures in endurance? You've definitely miscalculated!" The Holy Envoy could feel his strength rapidly recovering. Without lingering in place, he began to speedily follow the flow of the Seine downstream.
"Trying to flee?" Hans sneered coldly, dialing his phone: "The prey is heading downstream; are you all prepared on your end?"
"Everything is in place!" A steady voice replied from the phone.
Hans hung up the phone, then turned to Archbishop Berkeley with a grin and said, "Archbishop Berkeley, shall we set a trap and capture him like a turtle in a jar?"
...
The Holy Envoy followed the river downstream, fully aware that an inescapable Heavenly Net had been laid out above. Though Hans wasn't as strong as he was, the other side had three Demi-God Domain vice captains, not to mention the ever-persistent Archbishop Berkeley!
By sheer force, he would undoubtedly suffer a loss—and perhaps even lose the last map fragment in his possession!
"The priority is to avoid direct confrontation for now; once I shake off their pursuit, I can return to Hell's Gate!" The Holy Envoy thought to himself.
But just at that moment, the Holy Envoy noticed many filament-like threads suddenly appearing in the water. Before long, they wrapped around his body.
The Holy Envoy reached out to grab the threads. "What are these damned things?"
But as he attempted to tear the threads away, a powerful electric current suddenly surged through them. The immense current coursed into the Holy Envoy's body, immobilizing him entirely.
"Aaaah!" The Holy Envoy convulsed violently, crying out in agony. Even though his physical resilience was formidable, he couldn't withstand such a powerful electric shock.
Gritting his teeth against the paralysis, the Holy Envoy ripped off the filaments clinging to his body. But to his despair, the entire river was filled with those filaments—it was clearly a barrier set up to obstruct him!
Though he could rely on brute force to clear the river, every ounce of strength needed to be conserved at this moment. Otherwise, defeat would be inevitable.
"Holy Envoy of Hell's Gate!" A strange voice transmitted directly to the Holy Envoy's mind. "I imagine the Holy Envoy is in need of assistance. We are willing to extend a helping hand!"
Sound Transmission Technique! Only masters with exceptionally powerful spiritual power could perform such a skill! But who was this person, and what did they want from him?
"Who are you?" The Holy Envoy sent back his doubts through the spiritual channel.
The voice returned. "Who I am isn't important. What matters is that I can help you escape this predicament! Would the Holy Envoy be willing to take a gamble?"
The Holy Envoy sneered in reply. "How could I possibly trust someone hiding in the shadows? I'm not that foolish!"
After a moment of silence, the voice responded, "I can only tell you that we share countless connections. Whether you believe me is beyond my control."
The Holy Envoy felt a flicker of uncertainty. "Are you from the Dark Church?"
The voice didn't confirm but instead said, "Holy Envoy, have you made your decision?"
The Holy Envoy glanced at the dense web of filaments ahead, gritted his teeth, and said, "Fine, how do you plan to help me?"
...
"What's the situation now?" Hans and Archbishop Berkeley arrived and questioned the Frogman Squad.
The Frogman Squad's captain said to Hans, "Captain Hans, the target hasn't moved from its location and remains inactive!"
He pointed to the radar screen and added, "I'm even starting to suspect the target may have been electrocuted to death."
Hans chuckled lightly. "If he could be eliminated that easily, that would certainly be good news! But unfortunately, this opponent is no ordinary man!"
The Frogman Squad captain appeared shaken. "But that's a voltage of 100,000 volts! He survived even that?"
Suddenly, the radar screen displayed ripples before the signal completely vanished before everyone's eyes.
"What's going on here?" The Frogman Squad captain demanded urgently. "Why has the radar signal disappeared?"
"Captain, there was an interference wave just now!" One member quickly explained. "It caused severe disruption to our radar signal!"
"Investigate immediately to find out what's happened!" The Frogman Squad captain ordered.
Hans took a deep breath. "No need for that!"
Archbishop Berkeley nodded. "Indeed, he's about to surface!"
Just as Berkeley finished speaking, the Seine erupted with a deafening roar as towering waves rose. Emerging from the water was the Holy Envoy, his body adorned with massive black wings.
Hans's eyes glimmered with anticipation. "You've finally come out. Since you're here, there's no escape!"
With that, Hans rushed forward, flames blazing from his body, charging at the Holy Envoy.
The vice captains of the Rose Squad exchanged glances and swiftly ascended, blocking the Holy Envoy's other retreat paths, completely surrounding him.
The Holy Envoy sneered, his cold gaze fixed on them. "Do you really think you can block my path? Utter fools without any sense of survival!"
"Let's find out!" Hans declared. "We didn't get to finish earlier—let's pick up where we left off!"
The Holy Envoy scoffed. "Defeated weaklings dare to boast so brazenly? Hey, you from the Papal Court of Light at the rear—if you don't obstruct me, I might overlook your attack on our Freedom Organization. Otherwise, rest assured, our Freedom Organization will never let you off!"
Archbishop Berkeley paused, his Magic Wand firmly gripped. "An Abyssal Demon deserves nothing short of annihilation! If you have any sense, surrender now! I will purify you with Holy Light and send you to Heaven's embrace!"
