Super Invincible Battleship

Chapter 761: Wormhole Travel (Part 2)

When the energy block of the drone carrier dropped by 10%, Yan Fei felt a sense of relief throughout his body, as if he had just surfaced from underwater and could breathe freely. In the direct front of the drone carrier, a funnel-shaped pitch-black hole of unknown depth appeared. This black hole rotated slowly, and with each rotation, its diameter quickly contracted inward.

Yan Fei knew this was the wormhole he had created. If he didn't enter it in time, the wormhole would quickly disappear. So, he maneuvered the drone carrier closer to the hole, and as it was about to approach the entrance, the drone was automatically sucked into the mouth of the wormhole. In an instant, Yan Fei and his drone carrier vanished from the Solar System. Then, this newly opened wormhole officially closed, and everything around returned to normal, as if a wormhole had never appeared here...

2.5 light-years outside the Solar System in a space, Yan Fei's drone carrier suddenly popped out of the void and began to fly slowly in this completely unfamiliar star domain. Yan Fei also came out of his dazed state. During the flight through the wormhole, Yan Fei watched the bizarre lights surrounding the drone carrier, feeling as if certain completely unfamiliar memories were about to awaken in his mind, but ultimately, those memories did not awaken.

Once Yan Fei was fully conscious, that strange feeling disappeared and was quickly forgotten. This made him suspect that humans might need some form of protection during wormhole travel, or they might otherwise go insane.

Yan Fei sighed for a moment and immediately confirmed the situation around him. Here, he was 2.5 light-years from Earth, long outside the bounds of the Solar System. From here, the Sun was nothing more than an insignificant dot, not much brighter than other stars. Here was truly a vacuum; within a radius of hundreds of millions of kilometers, no materials could be found, making it a truly barren place.

Originally, without any reference points here, Yan Fei couldn't determine his exact location. But fortunately, he had deployed a quantum satellite 50 billion kilometers away. Using this satellite's positioning, Yan Fei instantly knew his exact location. Just as he had chosen earlier, he had crossed 2.5 billion light-years to the place he intended for wormhole travel. The entire process was very brief, with the time from entering the wormhole to exiting taking less than 10 seconds, yet within that brief time, the drone carrier crossed a distance of 2.5 light-years.

It was Yan Fei's first time entering the absolute vacuum of space, and he was curious about everything here. Unfortunately, nothing was in sight for him to discover unknown items. Particularly after the drone carrier traveled a considerable time in the vacuum, Yan Fei noticed no change in the surrounding starfield, which made him start to feel a sense of impatience.

Yan Fei knew well that this was the lethargy reaction from long-term solitary space flight, a state from which, should he fail to break free, he might descend into madness in the enduring loneliness. But Yan Fei's purpose this time wasn't to explore the depths of the Universe; he was there to understand the terrain, preparing for the possible interstellar war, so he wouldn't stay long enough to drive himself mad.

The drone carrier moved swiftly through space, and then Yan Fei discovered an odd phenomenon: when his eyes observed the outer space, he didn't need to conduct specific detection of this space. The space data he observed would be transmitted to the auxiliary brain's database, and this data would automatically send to the drone carrier's wormhole travel system, where the spatial coordinates of the space Yan Fei just witnessed would appear automatically. Next time, with just a click on this spatial coordinate point, Yan Fei could perform a wormhole travel.

This greatly reduced Yan Fei's workload. All he needed to do was confirm there were no obstacles in places requiring wormhole travel and personally fly through these places to immediately get the spatial coordinates. Later, he could create wormholes to travel to these places conveniently.

It's important to know that although Yan Fei's quantum satellites had broken out of the Solar System, it was only in certain directions. In many other areas, his quantum satellites hadn't even broken out from the Solar System before being destroyed by obstacles, so Yan Fei didn't fully control all the terrain within a radius of 3 light-years.

Therefore, Yan Fei's personal excursion to the Universe for terrain surveying was intended to grasp all the terrain near the Solar System. Only in this way could he truly possess the capability to travel to these places at any time and have powerful mobile combat capability when crisis arrives, keeping the enemy outside the defense line of the Solar System.

Previously, while inside the Solar System, because of numerous obstacles, Yan Fei's quantum satellites could hardly break out of the Solar System. However, when Yan Fei personally guided the drone carrier into the vacuum of space outside the Solar System, this obstacle hindering the quantum satellite's flight was formally lifted. Yan Fei, through fast flight and continuous wormhole travel, arrived at places where the quantum satellites hadn't yet broken out of the Solar System and directly released additional quantum satellites, allowing them to fly towards the distance, lighting up the still dark regions in the wormhole travel system and unlocking the mysteries of the Universe.

Meanwhile, Yan Fei began operating the auxiliary brain, letting the Artificial Intelligence "Dream" divide the vast region of 3 light-years outside the Solar System into grid partitions, breaking them into tiny grids. Through Yan Fei's step-by-step practice, not only did he need to determine the amount of energy blocks consumed for the drone carrier to travel through these places, but also ensure these places were the most crucial locations where he planned to release numerous small metallic spheres to act as obstacles. These would prevent aliens from approaching the Solar System swiftly using curvature navigation, buying him enough response time.

According to Yan Fei's prior plan, he desired to scatter these small metallic spheres throughout the outer star domain of the Solar System. But as the outermost extent of the Solar System spans a light-year, forming an enormous spherical expanse with a one-light-year radius, it was simply unrealistic to fill it entirely with small metallic spheres. So Yan Fei conceded as much as possible, laying traps on the most accessible routes to the Solar System to slow down the alien civilization's intrusion into the Solar System.

In pursuit of his goals, Yan Fei began to perform constant wormhole travels near the Solar System. However, except for experiencing hallucinations during the first wormhole travel, Yan Fei never had such intense feelings again in subsequent wormhole travels, which convinced him that he indeed had a hallucination the first time.

Under Yan Fei's efforts, every terrain within the 3-light-year radius outside the Solar System was being illuminated one by one. In the near future, Yan Fei would truly master the geographical situation outside the Solar System, enabling him to travel to this vast starfield at any time.

At this moment, the drone carrier had already drifted far from the Solar System, closer now to Proxima Centauri than to the Sun behind. From his current position, Proxima Centauri was 1.22 light-years away, while he was 3 light-years from the Solar System. But at such distances, neither the Sun nor Proxima Centauri seemed different from other stars; they were insignificant dots in the starry sky.

Yan Fei's control range over the drone stretched to 1 trillion kilometers, within which the Artificial Intelligence "Dream" could control all machinery and information equipment on Dream Island. However, the drone carrier at this point was billions of kilometers away from Earth, far exceeding "Dream's" maximum control range.

Moreover, with the Artificial Intelligence "Dream" fused with the Drone Assisted Intelligent Brain, it couldn't exist independently from the drone carrier, thus after Yan Fei left the Solar System, his Artificial Intelligence "Dream" could no longer communicate with those behind. In other words, Yan Fei had effectively lost command over Earth and Mars.

But Yan Fei wasn't entirely oblivious to Earth and Mars' situations because he left a quantum satellite inside the Solar System that continuously monitored the Solar System Core Region. Utilizing quantum communication, it relayed the gathered intelligence to Yan Fei in the distant starry sky, keeping him well-informed about occurrences within the Solar System.

So despite Yan Fei departing from Earth, Earth had never left his sight or escaped his control.
