Idol Revive: If I Don't Debut, I'll Disappear

Chapter 242: A Slight Change Of Plan

"The album length would depend on how many songs could be produced and get approved until release," the Director said.

The people inside the meeting room all nodded as they focused on listening.

While the Director was speaking, Rayen's eyes darted around the whole meeting room. Silently, he observed the people with them, only avoiding looking at the woman in veil.

Beside the woman sat an old man who kept on stroking his white beard. Also beside them was Ayumi and her sponsor. Then lastly, Han Jeongwoon, the leader of Immortals.

The meeting was quite monotonous. Due to boredom, even the always energetic Xi Huan couldn't help but yawn. Meanwhile, Xu Jiji had already fallen asleep in his seat.

'This kid can really sleep everywhere.'

Just then, the next slide was shown. Rayen's attention returned to the meeting before them.

"Based on the data we've gathered, the Bug is getting rampant among young people recently. These Bugs cause anomalies in people's life books, corrupting the pages and affecting the written fate in it." Director explained.

The pictures on the presentation showed book pages with blotted and squirming lines, messing the words inside and making it unreadable.

"Because of that, these people would act not according to the favorable fate that was written, acting erratically, sometimes even resorting to violence. If not resolved, the world order would become a mess as the most favorable fate couldn't be followed."

Rayen listened intently.

"It's not only that. Since we lack manpower, we're planning on recruiting Unaffiliated Entities. Being unaffiliated, most of them are still quite young. So, we plan on setting your debut album to aim for them as targets."

The people listening all nodded in understanding — except for one.

"... You want us to do a school concept?" Adrian asked, then looked around.

Out of all of them, only two were supposed to be students. Their ages wouldn't work if they were to do a school concept.

"Not necessarily. You don't need to pretend as students to appeal to young people, aren't you?"

Adrian could only admit defeat.

"You have until July to finish the preparations for your debut album."

After the Director finished talking, Ayumi's sponsor carefully said, "Ayumi should be the Head Producer. She'll be assigned to produce the title—"

"Who said that?" Plotter looked at Director.

'Wait, is she still the Director now that the show has ended?'

However, Rayen didn't know what else to call her.

Director only glanced at Plotter, her face calm before glancing back at the sponsor. "No one. But I think it will work. Fine, let's just do it like that."

But Plotter snapped back. "Why is she assigned to compose the title track? Shouldn't she be busy producing her own debut track? If you let outsiders—"

Director glanced at Ayumi, ignoring Plotter. "Is it gonna be hard for you?"

But it was her sponsor who answered. "No, it's not."

Director shifted her gaze to him. "I'm talking to Ayumi, not you."

The sponsor pursed his lips in embarrassment. Ayumi could only glance at her sponsor silently.

A few moments later, she finally responded, "It's not gonna be a problem…"

"She said it won't be a problem," Director said to Ploter.

Plotter's smile deepened.

"It's just a slight change of plans," Director declared, seemingly tired. "She's also a Pseudo-Existence and she's already a part of the production, so it doesn't matter if she handles the title track."

In truth, it didn't really matter to Rayen and their group who should be the one to make their title track. They would still have to compose songs, nonetheless.

But it seemed like Plotter wasn't of the same mind.

"Overseer Clandestine, I'm SEEDZ's head manager. This type of decision should also take my consideration."

Plotter seemed to have forgotten the presence of the World Immortal in the room, his tone sharp as he spoke.

Director's eyes narrowed. Plotter's sharp words seemed to have provoked something in her, her lethargic demeanor suddenly vanishing.

"But you seem to be forgetting about considering my opinion too?"

"I've always taken you into consideration."

"Is that really so? Then what about that recent incident?"

Plotter's smile stiffened, but he refused to relent.

"I've always let you do what you want, right?" Director continued.

Why did sparks suddenly appear in the air? Wasn't the meeting's agenda supposed to be about the debut concept?

Before, these two never seemed to be acting on different sides. They even seemed to share the same goal.

Unlike now.

Rayen stared at Plotter.

The Minstrel branch was just newly established, with a completely different structure from the Entity System. In the end, the Director is the Overseer of Binders, not the Overseer of Minstrels. It was also the same with Plotter.

That's why no one among them wanted to relent.

But then, the brewing war got interrupted by the old man. "Enough. Are you really going to fight here like kids? In front of the Immortal?"

Finally, Plotter and Director backed down.

"Why don't we do it like this, then?" The woman in the veil also joined, her eyes turning crescent shape. "Instead of deciding right away, let them compete for the title track. Won't it be fairer that way?"

Plotter briefly glanced at the members of SEEDZ, especially at Rayen.

'I'm suddenly feeling like something bad is about to happen to me…'

Then, Plotter turned to the World Immortal.

"Let's do it that way," he declared.

"....."

'Why do you just decide without talking to us first?'

Rayen sighed inwardly.

Plotter seemed to have calmed down. His creepy grin widened. "But I want to request something."

"What is it?"

"Since Ayumi is inexperienced, I want to have someone guide her," Plotter said.

Ayumi's sponsor flinched. "Guide her? There's no need. Her sponsors are plenty enough."

Plotter glanced at him with the same creepy smile. "Do you even know how to produce music?"

"....."

Receiving no response, Plotter was satisfied.

He stuck out his tongue in victory. "I guess it's decided then."

Throughout this conversation, the Director remained silent. Just as everything seemed to be getting resolved, a voice rang inside the room.

"Overseers, what about me?"

Everyone turned their heads toward the source of the voice. Han Jeongwoon was pointing at himself.

Yeah, right. What is he even doing here?
