Reincarnated Ruler: Awakening in a Broken Reality

Chapter 34: Golden Pillars

Our gaze again moved towards the battle of Nahrel...

The ground cracked before Nahrel could move.

Gorokh struck first.

The golem was the height of a keep, its shoulders wide enough to carry cities. Its chest burned with red-orange light, veins like molten rivers surging through fossil bone. Its face was a broken idol, mouth sealed, eyes empty.

It roared through its silence.

Nahrel didn't reply.

The golem charged. Each step slammed like thunder, flattening ridges, shaking distant peaks.

Nahrel raised one hand. A wall of stone burst up.

Gorokh crushed through it like paper. A swing of its arm tore through boulders. Its fist slammed down.

Nahrel vanished.

He reappeared above, crouched on a rising spire. He pressed his fingers to the stone.

Pillars shot up beneath Gorokh, trying to impale it from all sides.

The golem spun. Its body pulsed once. The heat flared.

Every pillar melted.

It hurled a chunk of molten earth at Nahrel. He dodged left. The blast scorched the mountainside behind him, leaving glass in its wake.

Nahrel fell. Landed. Slid.

He whispered again.

Dozens of jagged shards rose around Gorokh and shot in like spears.

The golem flexed. Its molten veins surged brighter. A pulse of heat exploded outward.

The shards melted midair.

Nahrel struck the ground hard with both palms.

The earth beneath Gorokh cracked. A sinkhole opened beneath its massive feet.

The golem dropped halfway in before grabbing the sides. It roared again.

Nahrel whispered again.

From the cliffs above, boulders the size of ships fell.

The golem stood and swatted them away.

One boulder burst apart releasing a trap Nahrel had placed inside.

A spike of white stone shot forward, slamming into Gorokh's chest. It didn't pierce, but it pushed the golem back.

Nahrel was already moving.

He rode a wave of stone, sliding at blinding speed, hand forward. He reached the golem's leg.

And whispered.

The stone beneath exploded upward, snapping Gorokh's knee backward with a thunderclap.

The golem stumbled.

Nahrel didn't stop.

He leapt, landed on its back, and raised both hands.

The mountain behind them cracked.

A colossal stone hammer, shaped by cliffs and wind-carved rock, formed in the sky.

It fell.

Gorokh looked up too late.

The hammer struck its chest and drove the golem into the valley floor.

The entire plain shook.

Smoke and dust swirled high.

Silence.

Then, a groan.

Gorokh pushed the hammer aside. Cracks ran across its glowing chest. Its light dimmed, but it stood again.

Nahrel landed in front.

Both hands touched the ground.

The valley opened.

Dozens of stone chains, sharpened and glowing, surged from every direction. They stabbed deep into the golem's joints, rooting it.

The golem struggled.

Nahrel whispered a final word.

The chains tightened.

Then pulled.

The light in Gorokh's chest shattered.

Its body split open.

It collapsed one last breath of heat escaping from its ribs before it went still.

The Living Relic crumbled into cold dust and vanished beneath the earth.

Another epic battle was waiting for Vea and Svea. After their came returned towards the Frein two new opponents charged their powers to destroy the Qiyun. To stop them Vea and Svea charged their powers too. Then we saw....

The sky cracked as Seraphel rose atop a spinning pillar of broken stone. Her skin shimmered with jagged purple crystal, glowing from within. Her blue eyes didn't blink. She raised her hand, and the debris beneath her spun faster, razor edges humming.

Opposite her, Naeva dropped from a branch of hanging roots. Her arms were coiled in vines that bloomed with bone-petaled flowers. Her grin split wide, and thorns unfolded from her cheeks.

Below them, Vea and Svea stepped onto the battlefield.

Vea, blindfolded, lifted her staff. Svea, silent, clenched her fists.

They moved together.

★★★

Seraphel struck first.

Her hands sliced through the air. Shards of crystal ripped free from her forearms and flew at the twins in a spiral. Each shard hummed like a blade.

Vea raised her staff. The ground lit in a circular flare. A glowing barrier spun up just in time. The crystal blades struck, shattered, scattered.

Svea didn't wait.

She rushed forward. Her foot slammed the ground. A shockwave shot out. Debris flipped and spiraled toward Seraphel.

Seraphel leapt.

Mid-air, she spun and fired a barrage of crystal needles downward. Svea rolled left. One shard sliced her arm. Blood fell. She didn't stop.

Above, Naeva made her move.

Vines lashed down. Bone blossoms bloomed mid-whip, snapping open like jaws. They bit the ground where Vea stood.

Vea tapped her staff three times.

Golden spears erupted from the soil and impaled the vines mid-lunge. They thrashed. She tapped once more. The spears exploded in flame.

Naeva laughed and dove through the smoke. Her elbow cracked into Vea's ribs. Thorns tore her robe. Vea staggered back.

Svea screamed a low, mute burst of force. Her voice never came, but the air pulsed outward. Naeva was blasted back, rolling across the ground.

Seraphel returned.

She dropped from her perch and landed with a shattering impact. Crystals burst around her, forming jagged walls. She pointed her palm forward.

A beam of solid crystal launched from her chest.

Svea caught it with both hands. It drilled toward her heart. Her feet slid. She growled silently. Her eyes burned.

Vea ran a wide circle, staff swirling. Symbols formed under Seraphel's feet. A snap. The crystal beam cracked.

Then shattered.

Svea twisted. Her heel slammed into Seraphel's side. Crystal ribs splintered. Seraphel coughed blood and staggered.

Behind them, Naeva rose again.

Vines flared from her back. She charged Vea with a whip of boneflowers flying behind her. Vea ducked the first, blocked the second with her staff.

The third vine struck her throat.

She gasped.

Svea turned. She didn't scream this time. She lunged.

Her hand grabbed Naeva's wrist. Her knee drove into Naeva's stomach. Bone petals cracked. Vines tore.

Vea recovered.

She slammed her staff to the ground.

Judgment sealed.

Golden lines burst from the soil. They wrapped Naeva and Seraphel in a rising cage of flame.

Seraphel tried to break free. Crystal flared along her spine. But Svea charged and slammed both fists into her chest.

Seraphel dropped.

Naeva twisted her vines into a shield.

Too slow.

Vea tapped once. A golden column descended from the sky.

It struck Naeva and flattened her into the dirt. The vines withered. The flowers crumbled.

★★★

Silence returned.

The battlefield was scorched and cracked.

Seraphel's body shattered. Crystals scattered like broken glass.

Naeva lay twitching, bone petals turning to dust.

The twins stood in the center.

One blindfolded. One silent.

None opposed them now.
