Ant Lord in the Star Realm

Chapter 183: The Vast Land of Origin Force

The cold wind howled.

The Dominating Throne stopped beside the little grove.

Behind a giant Hanging Bell tree, an oversized metal can was steaming, its mixed fragrance wafting through the woods.

Dragon Cypress wielded his Water System Ability with one claw, while commanding the worker ants with the other, having them bore holes into the sliced meat and thread them onto branches.

Ink Orchid tossed the skewered meat into the metal can.

Just a short boil and it would be ready to eat.

Fragrant Cypress, with nothing better to do, gathered all sorts of plant seeds, roots, bark, and leaves, researching ingredients to enhance the soup's aroma—he'd found 37 so far.

The Dominating Throne always kept a small pouch at the ready.

Dragon Cypress and Ink Orchid would never go hungry on their journeys; wherever they traveled, they could always eat the most delicious hot food.

Ink Orchid: "Dragon Cypress, I've been thinking, what should we call this Land of Origin Force?"

Dragon Cypress: "Up to you—"

Ink Orchid said in frustration, "I just can't think of a good name."

Dragon Cypress looked up and said, "Hanging Bell Plain?"

Ink Orchid shook his head. "That's too random. You have to come up with something fitting."

Dragon Cypress used both antennae and claws, fished out a meat skewer, pointed to the boiling water in the can, and said, "There's hardly any water here, plants are few, insect beasts are rare, it's dry, cold, and desolate—maybe 'Desolate Plains'?"

Ink Orchid glanced all around, pondered for a moment, and agreed, "Truly desolate. Never mind no Divine-Given Seeds or Insect Clan Warriors, there's not even a lake, a river, or a single peak, there's just nothing at all."

Hey! Finally, there's a Land of Origin Force named by your king personally.

Dragon Cypress was moved to tears.

Ink Orchid: "Then let's name it 'Desolation Plains.'"

Dragon Cypress: "..."

Dragon Cypress: "Is there any difference between 'desolate' and 'desolation'?"

Ink Orchid: "No difference. I'm naming it."

Dragon Cypress: "...Fine."

Ink Orchid: "Dragon Cypress, where do we head next?"

Dragon Cypress: "South? We'll make our way back and keep searching as we go."

Ink Orchid: "It's still early. Let's search east a bit more. Trust me, there's more Land of Origin Force to find."

Dragon Cypress: "I believe you."

Dragon Cypress didn't dare not believe.

After eating their fill, they set off east.

A day later,

The topography and climate changed significantly.

To the east were undulating mountains, high peaks capped with snow, with scattered lakes nestled between the slopes.

Flying another day east, they crossed the mountain region, and suddenly, a vast vision opened ahead. Boundless plain forests stretched out, humid warm winds blowing toward them, and a wide river meandered across the panorama as seen from above.

Ample rainfall, a temperate, moist climate, teeming with abundant plant and animal resources—truly a land of plenty.

Dragon Cypress was drawn to a towering cedar tree that pierced the clouds, steering the Dominating Throne to lower its flight.

"Origin Force fluctuation!"

Ink Orchid suddenly jumped up, raising his forelegs and pointing into the distance.

"Dragon Cypress! Over there!"

"Alright!"

Dragon Cypress hesitated for a moment, then maneuvered the Dominating Throne to climb higher, simultaneously changing direction toward the northeast where Ink Orchid had indicated.

They flew for a while.

Ink Orchid couldn't help but unfurl his wings, exclaiming, "Dragon Cypress! What a massive Origin Force fluctuation."

Ink Orchid instinctively wanted to dart away from the leisurely throne and check it out ahead, but with a twist of thought, suppressed the urge.

After some time,

The Origin Force fluctuation up ahead grew clearer and more majestic, vast and all-encompassing.

Ink Orchid's wings slowly folded back in.

Dragon Cypress straightened his antennae in solemn focus.

To date, they had discovered and named 13 Lands of Origin Force; Dragon Cypress and Ink Orchid were very familiar with the fluctuation of Origin Force Points.

But this one was completely different.

Its scale was enormous; Primordial Energy soared into the skyline, fluctuating in billowing waves, spreading in all directions.

"Dragon Cypress, we've found a major site!"

"Yes—"

"Are there any Divine-Given Seeds?"

"There might be."

"There are Insect Clan Warriors."

"Definitely!"

Dragon Cypress and Ink Orchid fell silent together.

Of the Lands of Origin Force they'd already mapped, Jianlan Plain was the largest, over 20 square kilometers in area.

This Land of Origin Force ahead was more than ten times, maybe even twenty times the size of Jianlan Plain.

With so much area and such rich resources, the odds of Divine-Given Seeds and Insect Clan Warriors appearing increased dramatically.

If a wild Divine-Given Seed had survived here, with enough time, it would certainly shelter Insect Clan Warriors as well.

If even a single Insect Clan Warrior survived, it would likely protect its own kin and nurture even more descendants.

If a Land of Origin Force is large enough to provide space, a full tribe could emerge.

If the number of Tribal Warriors was enough—ten, twenty—with each planting a different type of fortified Life Seed Plant and trading among themselves, a Mountain Lord-Level Warrior would be bound to appear.

This place was so rich that even a Lord-level Warrior wouldn't be impossible.

"Dragon Cypress, as usual, shall we go in the middle of the night?" Ink Orchid asked.

Dragon Cypress shook his antennae and slowly said, "We'll approach at midnight, first circle around the edges, gauge the outline and scale of this Land of Origin Force, then decide what to do next. This is different than before—we can't be hasty."

"Alright!"

Ink Orchid knew, too—if a tribal community had formed, the assembled Insect Clan Warriors wouldn't be so friendly toward Alien Clans.

The Dominating Throne descended, slowed, and reined in its Origin Force fluctuation, cruising low and slow just above the forest canopy.

In the Origin Force Vacuum Land, their perceptions grew sharper; the Origin Force fluctuation up ahead grew stronger and stronger.

Dragon Cypress gauged the distance and brought the Throne to a stop by a small river, concealing it inside the dense forest.

They waited in silence.

Night fell, midnight arrived.

The moonlight was hazy.

Dragon Cypress led Ink Orchid as they took wing, rising quietly into the sky.

Soon, they entered the thinly Origin Force-edged zone.

They flitted among the trees, sensing the source of the Origin Force spread, circling as they flew…

Until dawn, having completed a loop, they retreated to their starting point, hiding behind a patch of shrubs halfway up a forested hillside.

"Dragon Cypress, is the Land of Origin Force here generally circular?"

"Yes."

"About how big is it?"

"It's just too big to estimate."

Dragon Cypress raised his claw and traced a circle on a nearby rock with his toe. "Preliminary estimate—the diameter of this Land of Origin Force is about 20 to 30 kilometers."

Then Dragon Cypress made an even bigger circle. "It's rich in Origin Force, with diffusion stretching out 10 kilometers further in every direction."

Dragon Cypress: "The warriors dwelling here could roam in a range spanning 30 to 40 kilometers in diameter."

Ink Orchid was both excited and anxious, caught in a tangle of emotions.

Such a big place would certainly have plenty of Insect Clan Warriors. If they could set up trade, they could make lots of Source Stones every year.

But if the Dominating Throne—a treasure from an Outworld Civilization—was exposed, it'd likely get snatched.

Still, if they didn't reveal the Throne, it'd be hard to explain how they crossed the Origin Force Vacuum Land.

Ink Orchid asked, "Dragon Cypress, what do we do next?"

Dragon Cypress: "I'm a bit tired. Let's go back to the Dominating Throne and rest for a day, then explore again tomorrow night. In the southeast there are rolling hills—we'll conceal our Origin Force fluctuation, sneak through the woods, find high ground to lie low and observe first. We'll find out what kind of Insect Clan is here, whether they're good flyers, and then decide the next step."

"Alright!"

Ink Orchid agreed.
