Chapter 742: Beautiful

The Second Supreme Monarch wasn't the only one who received the news of Anthony's feats. Every Supreme Monarch had also received the report and watched the video recording, and with that, every lingering doubt they had harbored in their minds was completely dispelled. But, just like the Second Supreme Monarch, they too were in a state of extreme shock, their expressions betraying disbelief despite their efforts to maintain composure befitting their status.

Even the Fifth, Eighth, and Ninth Supreme Monarchs, who happened to be Anthony's grandparent and parents, found themselves utterly stunned. They had always known he was exceptional, but witnessing his overwhelming strength and composure in the face of danger was something that transcended even their expectations.

Within the vast expanse of Military Base Alpha-9, Mitchelle sat with a composed and regal demeanor. She had returned to her base only a short while ago after dealing with external affairs, and despite her longing to see her son, she had chosen to handle urgent matters first before dedicating her full attention to him after weeks of separation. But now, she discovered that her son was among those very urgent matters, and that realization brought an unexpected warmth to her chest.

A small smile curved her lips as pride coursed through her body like a tide. Whose child could accomplish such a feat? None. Whose child possessed such unparalleled talent? None. Whose child was as handsome and composed as hers? Absolutely none.

In her eyes, nobody was better than her son in anything. Her motherly pride and fierce love peaked, and a rare, tender smile broke across her usually imperious expression as she continued watching the video playing on the large television before her. The flickering light of the screen reflected against her eyes, which held a softness that only appeared when Anthony was involved.

Her thoughts flickered briefly to the rest of the Supreme Monarchs. She could almost imagine their faces right now, some speechless, others masking their astonishment with formality. Although it was rare for military bases to share mission reports, there was no possible way that the news of the Forsaken Cult's purging would not sweep across all bases like wildfire. This incident was too massive, too unprecedented to be ignored.

Unlike others who only watched Anthony's actual battle, Mitchelle did not pause the video once the fighting ended. She did not simply focus on his combat feats; instead, she continued to watch, observing every movement with a warmth only a mother could possess. She watched as he moved, as he breathed, as if trying to memorize every detail of him through the screen.

Suddenly, she pressed the pause button on the remote. Her eyes narrowed with intrigue as the screen froze on the image of her son embracing and kissing a purple-haired woman. Mitchelle did not need to think or guess, she immediately knew who the girl was. After all, that girl's father had once personally stormed into the military with enough killing intent to shake the skies, threatening the entire establishment if anything were to happen to his daughter.

'Who would have thought that the girl he was so fiercely protecting was actually Klaus's daughter?' Mitchelle mused with amusement, feeling an unexpected urge to burst into a full-blown laugh.

She did not have impossibly high standards regarding whom her son chose to date. As long as the girl's moral compass was not skewed toward darkness or cruelty, she had no issue. 'I can't wait to meet her,' she thought with mild excitement, an emotion she rarely experienced outside of battle.

'This should be interesting. She seems like a perfect match for him. Both handsome and beautiful, both exceptionally talented, possibly the most talented youths I have encountered in all my years,' Mitchelle mused internally, her mind already drifting into possibilities and future arrangements.

'I should start making plans,' she thought, a spark of enthusiasm lighting in her eyes as she completely shifted from the matter of Anthony's achievements to the matter of his relationship. The moment she saw he had a girlfriend, every other detail seemed temporarily insignificant compared to this new revelation.

Behind her stood Warlord Brontagar, Warlord Aerenya, and Warlord Raelith, all maintaining calm expressions as their eyes remained fixed on the television as well. Although they were aware that Anthony had a girlfriend, they had never discovered her identity until this moment.

They were not surprised by Mitchelle's display of raw emotion. Though she usually carried herself with the calm dignity of a Supreme Monarch, whenever it concerned her son, that facade melted away, replaced entirely by her fierce and unapologetic motherly nature.

"Bring the military records of Captain Vega," Mitchelle said, her tone composed yet carrying an undertone of command that allowed no delay.

Without a word, Warlord Aerenya vanished, the air around her rippling briefly. Only a few seconds passed before she returned, holding a neatly bound file in hand. She presented it to Mitchelle with a respectful bow, stepping back afterward.

Mitchelle flipped open the file with practiced ease, scanning Vega's battle records with a calm yet observant gaze. Although Klaus was Vega's father, Mitchelle had never spoken to Vega personally during her time in the military base. She simply hadn't cared enough to concern herself with the personal affairs of the soldier. But now that Vega was romantically involved with her son, she cared quite a lot.

Her eyes shifted to Vega's date of birth, and upon seeing the date, she let out a soft click of annoyance under her breath. Vega's birthday had passed only two days ago.

'If I had returned earlier, I wouldn't have missed it. Tsk. Well, there is always next year,' she thought to herself with a dismissive nod, already making mental notes.

With that, she handed the file back to Warlord Aerenya without further comment. Mitchelle did not bother to dig deeper into Vega's personal background. She did not feel the need to. Her authority granted her immediate access to military information, but she was not petty or invasive without cause. She had only asked for the military records because it was formal protocol due to Vega being a soldier under her command.

Once that matter was settled, she turned her attention back to the screen, rewinding the footage to the beginning of Anthony's battle against the Demon Monarch Lilith.

To Mitchelle, this battle held particular significance. This was one of the rare times her son had chosen to utilize magic instead of relying solely on his katana. Although he had begun with hand-to-hand combat, the true essence of the battle lay in how he transitioned completely into spellcasting, unleashing pure magic in a manner that shook even the heavens.

'Beautiful,' she thought, her eyes shimmering faintly as she watched planets shatter and space tremble in the wake of Anthony and Lilith's clash.

Her focus remained unbroken until she suddenly felt a shift in energy. Her brow lifted slightly as she raised her hand, and a talisman materialized in her palm, glowing softly with arcane energy.

'I thought we agreed to reconvene within twenty-four hours. We still have time left,' Mitchelle thought with mild irritation, though her expression remained composed.

'Although I understand the urgency of the matter...' she mused, a faint smile touching her lips.

"I will be back," she said calmly, her voice directed toward the three Warlords behind her.

Without waiting for a response, her figure vanished entirely from the chamber, leaving only the flickering glow of the television and the echo of Anthony's battle playing in the background.
