Mystic Eyes: My Eyes Steal the Laws of Cultivation

Chapter 80: Sword Intent

The silence was absolute in front of the Leaf Sword Pavilion.

The only sound that remained was the cracking of the wooden walls of the pavilion, still faintly echoing. Now sustained by the Qi of the elders and the sect leader.

Mei Ran stepped forward and took a deep breath, bowing slightly.

"Sect Leader, the young man inside is Kyrian. He is the boy with the special physique I told you about."

The man's gaze then narrowed, penetrating the pavilion door.

"So it's him…"

'How did he manage to break the formation that sustained the pavilion…?'

The sect leader's thoughts raced as his eyes remained fixed on the closed door, as if he could see through it.

Everyone was tense in the valley for some reason.

Everyone, the disciples, the elders, even Yanyu and Luz, waited in complete silence for the outcome, imagining what could have happened.

It was at that moment that a metallic sound echoed.

'Clang!'

The doors slowly opened from within, revealing a sharp green light that escaped like a cutting wind.

All the accumulated energy of the pavilion's formation vanished into the air, passing through everyone. The weaker ones suffered countless small cuts all over their bodies.

Then, step by step, someone walked out of the pavilion. Kyrian slowly emerged.

And at the exact instant his foot touched the ground outside the pavilion…

A tremendous hum radiated throughout the valley. All the swords present there suddenly vibrated.

Not a single blade remained still. The sound, the metallic hum, reverberated through the valleys, as if the world had turned into a single field of swords.

The disciples immediately retreated, pressing and holding their own weapons against their bodies, unable to control their swords.

"W-what is this!?" an inner disciple shouted.

But the cry was lost in the deafening hum that took over the valley. The swords seemed to scream in unison, a symphony of sharp, pure steel.

And at the center, no, the source of all this turmoil, was none other than Kyrian.

His eyes were no longer the same. The usual sky-blue color had been replaced by a deep green glow. Along with two sword-shaped irises that radiated an intense silvery light like blades.

From his eyes emanated a tangible cutting pressure, a sensation of slashing that made the skin burn even without being touched.

Kyrian was burning his Qi and releasing all of his new comprehension at that moment. And he had a reason for it.

His posture was upright, shoulders relaxed. But everything about him conveyed the impassibility and absolute precision of a sword itself.

The cold and distant presence that always characterized him when he had the Eyes of Ice was gone, no, it had transformed.

Now it was sharp, penetrating, and capable of cutting with just a glance.

Yanyu was among those most surprised by this. She had already seen the Eyes of Blood, that horrible sensation she felt when Kyrian revealed those eyes resurfaced in her memory.

But now, this pressure was different, it felt terrifying in a completely new way.

And doubt grew in her heart. Before, she could accept that he had two physiques, but now, a third had suddenly appeared.

The little fox, Luz, who had always been so cheeky, had shrunk slightly behind Yanyu's legs, letting out a low squeak.

It was at that moment, when many felt terrified, that the Sect Leader acted.

With a fluid motion, his hand rested on the sheath of his sword.

And then, the metallic hum that dominated the valley instantly ceased. As if it had been cut. The swords stopped vibrating, but a heavy, charged silence took over the place. The cutting pressure emanating from Kyrian's eyes did not diminish, it merely concentrated, focusing entirely around Kyrian.

The leader's eyes narrowed. Without any warning, his hand rested on the sheath again.

And then, at a speed impossible for any of the inner disciples to follow, his sword was sheathed and unsheathed in an instant.

With a single gesture.

A sound was heard, and then the air tore apart.

The elders managed to see and react, but their pupils immediately shrank upon noticing what the leader had done. That was not an ordinary strike, not something a new disciple could withstand. No, not even a witness.

But Kyrian had already been focused on that man since leaving the pavilion. His eyes perceived before his mind.

Then, instinctively, his eyes shone, sharp, alive.

A green slash appeared in the void before him, simple, direct, but extremely sharp. Kyrian used all the Qi left in his dantians for this.

Then, a terrible sound rang out as the two slashes collided in the air. The invisible pressure reverberated through the valley. The nearby leaves were completely lifted, and yet, they were perfectly intact, slowly falling to the ground again.

Everyone watched in disbelief.

"Th-that's impossible!"

"He… he intercepted the sect leader's attack!"

"How?!"

The disciples in the distance began arguing with jaws dropped.

The leader, however, smiled. A truly rare and almost imperceptible smile. But full of approval.

With that attack, he had confirmed it.

'He has fully grasped the sword intent left by the ancestor…' the man thought.

Kyrian remained firm, without retreating, but breathing heavily. He had completely used up all his Qi.

"You." The leader's voice then echoed. It was calm, but everyone could hear it clearly.

"Come here."

Kyrian, still with his new eyes reflecting a faint cutting glow, looked into the eyes of the man from whom he felt a terrifying pressure.

A pressure that reminded him of when Wei Feng grew angry. He knew. The strength of the man before him rivaled Wei Feng, no, it was probably greater.

The leader of the Verdant Sword Sect wore a simple black robe, with a single sword hanging at his waist. His appearance was so plain, so ordinary, that Kyrian thought he could find someone like him in any city.

The only thing that set him apart was his hair, light green and short.

Despite that, while standing there, Kyrian felt a terrifyingly sharp pressure.

The earlier strike had been a test, the man before him had barely used his Qi, it was only his sword intent. That was why Kyrian had been able to defend himself using his own, the sword intent he had just learned in the pavilion.

Kyrian assessed the leader, without fear in his gaze, only a cold analysis. He then stepped forward.

He only stopped when he was a few steps from the leader. The man, with a small smile, also assessed Kyrian for a moment.

Then suddenly, Kyrian felt a frightening spiritual pressure, something passing through his entire body as if investigating every detail.

The man was doing the same thing Wei Feng had done. He was probing him completely, trying to understand the boy before him.

It was at that moment that the leader's face revealed surprise, visible to all.

That surprise had a reason. He did not sense a special physique within Kyrian, nor any bloodline, nor anything extraordinary. There was not even a dantian, meridians, nothing.

He was empty. The leader could feel Kyrian's foundation and that he was in the Qi Accumulation realm, but it came from somewhere else, for his body was utterly void.

The leader, after realizing this, asked a question that thundered in his mind.

'He… he is a mortal?!'

The question might sound absurd to many. Of course, he was mortal. But the leader was asking about the nature of his being.

The sect leader kept his gaze fixed on Kyrian for a longer moment, and then, a spark of absolute comprehension mixed with contained excitement rose in his eyes.

He had discovered that Kyrian was not a spiritual physique, not an earthly or superior physique. He was a mortal, bearer of an innate talent. A myth, a legend rarely seen across the ages.

A seed of pure innate power, born unpredictably among mortals, capable of rivaling and even surpassing the gifts inherited by those with celestial physiques.

Without hesitation, the leader leaned slightly.

"Kyrian. Would you accept me as your master?" he said suddenly, his voice now heavy with solemn weight.
