Chapter 354: Determination Path Burning Divine Fire Seeking Truth and Proving Divine Format

The Lord's Greatsword he was holding paused slightly, and as he grasped it tightly, he felt a portion of his physical strength being drained. Although this level of energy drain was negligible to him now, the fact that it was being siphoned directly through the weapon without his consent made him uncomfortable.

In his view, this thing was completely a sinister weapon.

As his physical strength was drained, the enormous sword, appropriately called a Door-Board Greatsword, suddenly emitted a grayish-white energy stream.

In Lu Ren's hands, this Door-Board Greatsword was like an embroidery needle, wielded with perfect, terrifying power.

The Greatsword swung down from above, slicing through the air, as countless gray-white energy streams swirling around the blade coalesced into a pillar of energy, rushing ferociously toward the golden stream of light.

The powerful force compressed the air, pushing forth even greater strength.

Boom!!

The gray-white energy pillar collided with the golden stream of light instantly, and then the obstructed golden light was revealed to be a graceful figure, Aier herself.

With a gentle flick of the ornate one-handed sword in her hand, she easily cut through the energy pillar Lu Ren had slashed out.

Then, without pause, she closed the distance to Lu Ren in an instant.

Facing Aier's extremely cold gaze, Lu Ren's expression remained calm. He turned the Door-Board Greatsword in his hand, tearing through the air and sweeping with a turbid white energy wave.

The two swords clashed instantly, sparking a large burst of sparks.

Only a moment of stillness, and what appeared to be a quite elegant one-handed longsword engaged in a fierce battle with Lu Ren's Door-Board Greatsword.

Lu Ren's heart was somewhat shaken; the lightly adorned one-handed sword in Aier's hand, seemingly decorative, stirred up unimaginable tremendous power, not weaker by any measure.

On the contrary, Aier was even more shocked; she couldn't fathom that the heavy greatsword Lu Ren wielded was handled as lightly as an embroidery needle, its heavy nature used with incredible agility.

Changkong was torn apart, physical Sword Qi shot in all directions, and even the surrounding ancient stones were slashed with sword marks.

In the next moment, Aier's longsword suddenly flared with intense brilliance, as if gathering the world's power, and then descended upon Lu Ren.

Lu Ren's expression remained indifferent, as he braced forward with his Greatsword, and the unimaginable enormous force instantly assaulted him.

The Door-Board Greatsword in his hand was cracked under the golden sword light from Aier's longsword, the thick sword blade was nearly cleaved into two segments.

And this force of immense power carved two long grooves into the ground where Lu Ren stood bracing.

Lu Ren, emitting steaming heat from his body, wore Furnace Soldier Steel Armor that in the fierce battle had turned into strips of iron hanging on his body due to his own massive exertions.

Seeing Lu Ren's appearance, Aier did not pursue but instead spun a flourish with her sword, and the pale golden sword light it emitted gradually disappeared.

"Do you know where in this world, extraordinary power is displayed most strongly?"

Aier's face was calm, her eyes revealing brilliant clarity.

With a slight exertion of his hands, the Lord's Greatsword in Lu Ren's hand broke directly into two pieces.

"These weapons are somewhat unreliable."

Lu Ren paid no heed to Aier's words, merely sighed deeply.

Though he didn't tell Aier directly, how could Aier not discern Lu Ren's meaning? A slight, serene smile appeared on her face, unconcerned, as she lightly waved the longsword, managing to disturb the air, letting faint golden arcing currents wander.

"When the power of the Bible can be borne by weapons, then these weapons will become the strongest offensive means at hand."

Lu Ren did not say much, simply remarked, "Why come down from the cross, what are you doing here?"

Upon hearing Lu Ren's ridicule, Aier's expression remained unchanged.

"Hand over the Bible, and I will let you leave."

Lu Ren raised his eyebrows, "You've guarded it for so many years, haven't you ever opened it?"

"The Bible descended from the heavens. I cannot touch it. Only a Wandering Soul like you, from distant lands who belongs to the Bible's territory, are qualified to touch it."

Saying this, even Aier, who had lived countless years relying on herself, couldn't help feeling a tinge of bitterness in her words, even from a certain perspective.

What Aier devoutly believed in, Shakyamuni, only saw them as guarding tools.

Although the outcome was harsh, this was the fact, and it was what Aier came to understand after being unable to contact the True Scripture's content.

Everything has already been arranged meticulously by Shakyamuni.

Just waiting for Lu Ren to gather the three True Scriptures.

Lu Ren could no longer stop; having mastered two True Scriptures, he seemed pushed by an unseen force propelling him forward.

"It truly sounds like a saddening fact."

Lu Ren was unsurprised upon hearing this. Shakyamuni, despite appearing to regard all beings equally like a True Buddha, had already reached realms unimaginable, laying such plans for millennia.

Lu Ren looked at Aier with some pity. In this world within the Chaos Rift, it had entirely become a place for Shakyamuni to store the True Scroll of the Past Maitreya True Scripture, and these people, who had prayed for countless years, were just guardians.

With so many contingencies laid by Shakyamuni, who knows what extraordinary arrangements Old Man Li Er, who travelled alongside Shakyamuni, made.

"Even if I were to give it to you, I'm afraid you wouldn't see what's inside."

Lu Ren remarked indifferently, "Since you're merely a guardian, seeking to peek into the scripture's information, you'd likely suffer a dreadful outcome."

Upon hearing Lu Ren's unhesitant mockery, though Aier's temperament and cultivation were excellent, a flash of coldness appeared in her eyes.

"Since the Saints watch coldly, I will seek my own life."

Lu Ren's expression revealed unabashed ridicule, "Even if it's your Saints, they have been pursuing immortality all along, exhausting every means for Longevity and Vision. Even now, they might merely be chasing an unreachable fantasy as seekers of light."

Seekers of light?

Aier thought slightly and then understood what Lu Ren meant.

"So close yet so far, then."

A trace of change finally emerged in Aier's emotions, as she gazed enigmatically up at the starry night sky.

"After so much idle talk, let's fight first before speaking further. If you want the scroll from my hands, you need to see if the Aier Goddess actually has the strength."

As he spoke, Lu Ren reached out to tear off the pieces of his armor that had become strips of iron.

Aier's strength and realm hadn't stepped further into the Human Immortal Path Fruit, like Lu Ren she was in the Seeking Truth Realm.

Strictly speaking, the Seeking Truth Realm can be considered at the Divine Spirit Realm level.
