The Fraud Heir to The Strongest Clan

Chapter 91: New Power

Several days had passed and the kingdom was looking better than ever. As long as no external factor halted their good progress, they should be able to proceed to the next phases of Dhein's Kingdom Transformation Project.

One by one, people with valuable skills started to show up, greatly improving the manpower of the provinces. There were no issues with loyalty as well, for not a single one of them would even think of betraying the man who defeated the fallen angel who had enslaved them for centuries.

These past several days, Dhein took the time to study the demons' history, as well as their source of power and ability to evolve. Angelus was the last fallen angel on earth, and had been ruling the demonkind since his banishment from heaven.

Because of him spreading his genes, celestial blood also flowed through the veins of demons. It gave them the ability to use sorcery which was commonly known for humans as Dark Magic, and the ability to go through rapid physical and spiritual evolution.

However, there was just one thing about the sorcery book that didn't sit right with Dhein. The book contained the detailed instructions for performing sorcery but not a single page mentioned anything about the need for mana. It also didn't correlate the ability to use sorcery with celestial blood.

Dhein was reading the book in the middle of the night again, both out of curiosity and hoping that he will discover something useful.

"Basic spell: Void cannon... huh," he muttered to himself.

He read the next line.

"A spell that manipulates the quantum state of particles for a desired space time."

"To activate, simply hold your hand out, point it in the direction where you wish to fire the void cannon, and finish the incantations."

Dhein leaned back, perplexed.

Among all the spells he had seen, this sounded so simple that he thought even he would be able to use it.

"Might as well try it..." he whispered.

He opened the window of his chamber. It was facing the direction where the ocean in the south was.

With his left hand, he held the book and his right hand was extended outside the window.

Luckily, he was able to read the ancient text in which the incantation had been written.

Dhein vocalized it loud and clear, the words of the old celestials escaping his lips.

He didn't have much hope that it would work. That's why when a black circular void that absorbed all light around it appeared in his hand, Dhein was overwhelmed with utter shock and he wasn't able to move. He didn't want to believe what he was seeing.

He was using dark magic.

Dhein had no time to process all this information as the energy between the void and his hand was intensifying at a terrible rate. He felt like it was about to explode at any second.

After charging for some time, that energy suddenly snapped and released.

The void cannon shot forward from Dhein's hand, traveling above the sea with unnatural force and speed. It almost split the waters in its wake, causing giant waves to ripple across the ocean.

Finally, the black void hit the bulk of a mountain, and Dhein heard the impact from hundreds of miles away.

His heart and mind went racing. He stood there in front of the window frame, still petrified of what he did.

Did that really happen? Was he imagining things after all?

He needed to confirm. And so, he flipped the pages of the ancient book and decided to try another spell.

Abyssal spear was the one Dhein landed his eyes on. After reading the instructions, he immediately performed the spell.

With his heart rapidly pounding against his chest, Dhein recited the incantations.

Just like that, menacingly sharp spears of darkness materialized around him, floating in the air and waiting for his commands.

Next, he tried the Johan's barrier. A transparent dome similar to the barrier Zarria used appeared and protected him.

After that, Dhein spent hours exploring all the different spells that the book contained. It ranged from basic to advanced to special and Dhein was able to use them all without fail.

More than curious and cautious, Dhein was extremely thrilled that for the first time, he wasn't powerless.

Finally, there was something he could do. Something that would make him actually useful and not reliant on others.

He almost felt like crying in happiness right there and then.

The next day, the new king of Sekhtar was walking with a particularly confident stride. With the new powers Dhein unlocked, he felt like he could take on the world itself!

'As if...'

He laughed at himself for thinking that. Even the weakest of demons were able to use the spells that he did. It was nothing special in any way shape or form.

Shrugged it off, Dhein looked around. The development of the community was excellent, adding to Dhein's good mood.

Furthermore, each village within the ten provinces now had a chief. The ten governors were able to train the people and assign them roles in the government.

If there was a dispute, they were now able to resolve it themselves. When there were problems, they worked together to find a solution. In Dhein's opinion, that was worth more than having the strongest military and richest economy in the world.

After all, the essence of a nation should be hosting a group of people who care about each other and help each other at any given moment.

Still, even after all that, Dhein wasn't planning to stop. He promised that he would help the nation rise, so until they could stand on their own, he would continue to help them.

And with the way things were going, Dhein figured that it wouldn't be long before that time came.

Dhein had just finished going through the reports of the governors and approved their projects. Now, he was giving a visit to the orphanage that had just been built.

He assigned Krushe, along with other trustworthy demons to run it. The orphanage currently housed around eighty abandoned children including Amarih.

As he walked through the door, all eyes immediately landed on him, and they showed courtesy.
