The Fraud Heir to The Strongest Clan

Chapter 78: The Power of The Empire's Pillars

When Angelus was about to snap his fingers, both of his hands mysteriously got severed clean and fell to the ground. The grip of the diamond hands on his arms weren't coming off anytime soon either.

Unlike the divine protection that the Blade God granted to Zarria, Axerion's blessing was manually activated. He could cut any body part of his target at will.

With a sardonic tone, Axerion remarked:

"My, I didn't expect the Demon King to be a pipsqueak like you. If you weren't so ugly, I would have found you adorable."

Angelus smiled.

"Well, if it isn't Mister Godhand over here. Though, are you sure you're supposed to be talking to me that way?"

The Demon King was currently surrounded by the four leaders of the strongest human clans yet there wasn't a single trace of fear on his face.

"You sneaked past the border before I was able to close it like the little rat that you are," Axerion replied.

"After centuries of silence, why is demonkind suddenly stirring up some noise now?" he asked.

Angelus broke his own arms to escape from the diamond hands and regenerated them again. He then answered.

"Because we've discovered that our goddess is here, locked up somewhere to suffer. I have come to rescue her. To do that, it seems like we need the body of the current Olcourian Imperial Princess first."

Silence filled the air as everyone watched the Demon King's every move with anticipation.

"And also, because I wanted to see this fabled God Tamer for myself. Several reports of his unmatched strength have been reaching my ears, and honestly, it's getting kinda annoying. So, I wanted to put him back in his righteous place."

He then took a couple of steps forward.

"But since he's not showing up, maybe you'll be up to the task of becoming my punching bag instead. Oh! I see you've revived the girl I killed earlier. That's great. Because of that, I'll be able to enjoy her cries as I break her slowly along with many others!"

With incomprehensible speed, the child-looking demon dashed forward. Several elemental spells attempted to reach him only to fall behind his trail. Amidst this total chaos, silhouettes of many great spirits manifested in the battlefield and provided the humans some aid but the Demon King not only dominated the physical world but also the spiritual one.

If it weren't for the traps set up by the Hemmethes slowing Angelus down, they would have been in a lot more trouble. There were also constant bombardments from magic canons Jaizen Hemmethe had built.

Axerion formed a barrier that protected him and Zarria only to be broken by Angelus' explosive punch. Instantly, Zarria formed a barrier of her own which was able to hold much better. The Demon King tried to break it for a few seconds but to no avail.

She then turned to Axerion.

"Father! This monster is immortal. The only way to win is to seal him using the Spirit Clan's powers!"

Seeing how her father was missing one eye ignited a rage in Zarria's heart, but she knew she had to stay composed to avoid making a grave mistake again.

Axerion nodded.

"I'm sure they already know that. They're just waiting for a chance to perform the ritual."

When Angelus shifted his attention to Augros Uthalonica and began fighting him, Zarria dismissed the barrier.

"I'll create that chance," she declared.

Axerion chuckled.

"Please be careful, Zarria. You wouldn't want me to complete lose my vision now, would you?"

A grin spread across her face.

"That will never happen again. I swear to the gods."

Her body became coated with bright celestial energy, enhancing her abilities far beyond the blessings of Mirror of Heaven. And with that, she vanished, leaving exploding sand clouds in her wake.

Philip Wixorn and his father used the spirit of strength to provide greater support to Zarria and Augros, their only melee fighters. Thus, even with the sudden spike in the Demon King's capabilities, they were able to fight back.

Every time the demon tried to make a snap, the mages and Axerion were there to destroy his wrists. Advancing to the spellcasters wasn't one of the Demon King's options either for so much as blinking would result in powerful fists crushing his skull.

To the naked eye, this battle would be impossible to comprehend. Fast moving entities clashed both in the land and air like blinking explosions, disappearing in one place and appearing in the next. A barrage of plasma orbs, fireballs, thunderbolts and sharp icicles shot towards this singular target, following it wherever it bolted towards.

After putting herself in a position where she could cast the tenth tier of the Sea of Death, Zarria didn't hesitate. She and the Demon King were exchanging blows mid air. The moment she saw the chance, she flew higher and then looked down at Angelus.

Then, with a furious face, she said:

"This is payback."

She punched downward, hitting Angelus in the stomach. The impact sent the demon crashing down, except instead of hitting the ground, his body got submerged in water.

The highest tier of Sea of Death was the strongest version of the spell. Unlike the lower tiers which only let the caster summon an artificial sea, the tenth tier granted the caster complete control of the water. It meant that if they wanted to drown anyone in that water, they could. No matter how buoyant the object in the tenth tier Sea of Death was, if the caster wanted it to sink at the abyssal bottom, no amount of air could make it float.

And so, the Demon King stayed in the bottom of the magical sea.

This was a tier of the spell that even Thevon Luxier wasn't able to master. She and her brother were the only ones to use it.

The Wixorns didn't waste time. They immediately created a rift between the spirit realm and the physical world. Absolutely no one could ever walk out from this pocket universe from the inside unless the Wixorns decided to open it again. Nothing but spirits awaited in this foreign side of dimensional reality.

It required Thevon, Raven, Axerion and Zarria's magical output to create a vortex from inside that rift strong enough to suck the Demon King in. The demon struggled with all his might, but eventually, it all proved futile as he ended up being trapped inside the pocket universe.

The spirits conjured the strongest object that they could to manifest this pocket universe physically. When the Demon King was finally sealed completely, his spiritual prison manifested as an onyx crown, hovering in the air for a moment before falling to the sand.

Finally, the battle was over. The Demon King had been defeated.

"That's what you get for messing with the five governing clans of Olcour," Jaizen mocked, proudly crossing his arms.

"Shut up!" a childlike, almost sulky voice came from the black crown, making Jaizen jump back in fear.

"Let me outta here! Let me out! This is not fair!" he cried pathetically inside the spiritual prison.
