Levia's eyes narrowed as she stared suspiciously.
Rita looked way too comfortable sitting next to Amon. Not only that, but he looked way too comfortable feeding her with his own hands. The cuffs were still on, but still… Something was off.
Levia's gaze flicked to Syl. The female Hobgoblin had silently taken a seat among them. She was half-hidden behind Amon's shoulder. Syl's gaze alternated between the sizzling meat and Amon's back. She had taken a seat behind him without thinking about it too much.
It didn't take long for Amon to turn around and hand her a skewer.
"Thanks…" She muttered, shyly taking it.
Levia shook her head.
'Something happened,' She thought. 'Rita, what the hell did you do?'
If he and Syl had kissed, who knows what he could have done with Rita in the night.
'But when…? I was literally sitting in front of the door! though… I guess Amon left somehow. Maybe through the window. No way he could have walked by me and Fox while we were asleep-'
"Aren't you going to sit?" Amon gestured.
Levia walked closer, gaze moving towards every spot she could occupy, before deciding on the most privileged spot.
"...!" Akane coughed, almost choking on her bite.
'The bitch…' Rita sighed internally.
Syl lowered her gaze, pursing her lips.
"Huh… Sure," Amon said as Levia took a seat in his lap. "Why not, I guess."
He handed her a skewer, but she didn't take it.
"I'd rather feed on something… More meaty." Levia whispered, her bare shoulders coming into contact with his skin.
"Can you not?" Akane grumbled. "We're literally eating."
"So? Why are you saying that like I'm doing something gross?"
"Gross Succubus." Akane sighed.
"Not all Succubi are like that though." Rita muttered before leaning forward, taking the meat skewer in Amon's hand into her mouth. She paused for a moment, letting him get a good glimpse at her wet lips around the meat.
"Right," The Fox nodded, unaware of Rita's intent. "I guess you're not so bad, as far as Succubi and Demons go."
"Thanksh…" Rita mumbled, her mouth filled with meat. She winked at Amon before pulling back.
Levia had completely missed this, as she had leaned towards Syl.
"You're being too timid," The Succubus whispered. "If you want him, you have to be more on the offensive."
Syl almost choked on her food. "Maybe you should be less clingy and available, ever thought of that?!" She whispered back.
"Um, no."
"Anyways, Akane started. "What happened last night?"
The question immediately raised multiple eyebrows.
Levia was curious as to how and why Rita and Amon had grown so seemingly close.
Rita did her best not to giggle.
Syl blushed while looking away.
"What do you mean?" Amon asked before taking a bite, completely laid back.
'Good answer,' Both Syl and Rita thought.
"Well, I'm not sure." Akane scratched her arm. "I guess I felt something while I was asleep. A tremor or something, it was a weird feeling. Couldn't have been too dangerous since it barely woke me up, but still,"
Syl let out a sigh. Being questioned about what happened between her and Amon in that room was not something she wanted.
"Now that you mention it…" Levia muttered, a hand to her chin.
"I guess I was woken up by something as well," Syl nodded.
"Felt it too," Rita said with a smile, turning towards Amon.
Obviously, Rita knew about Rika, but not about what had happened before.
"It's something related to this place," Akane muttered while looking around. "I mean… The place feels a lot less creepy now."
"It's still plenty creepy," Syl countered. "Just doesn't seem so bad during the day."
Levia stood suddenly.
'I couldn't feel it before because I was focused on them and Amon! Something… The energy, it's…'
"Levia?" Rita raised an eyebrow.
The High Priestess immediately left them and started running towards the other side of the church's hall, towards the inner altar.
"What the hell…?" She muttered, eyes closed and hands on the altar. "The mana that used to flow through… It's gone."
"Gone?" Syl echoed.
"Yes," Levia said, opening her eyes.
Amon continued eating and feeding Rita, like this were no big deal.
"So, Amon'" Akane said without looking away from her meat skewer. "What did you do?"
"Are you accusing me of something?"
"Baseless accusations are bad," Rita mused with a nod before taking another bite.
"It's not baseless though, is it?" Syl circled around to take a seat next to Akane.
The Fox silently chomped on a hare's leg.
"You've taken something related to Azaroth," Syl continued. "Now, something related to Jarath's Black Church is missing, isn't it?"
Levia's eyes widened. "You found something? How? I thought this place was corrupted and empowered by years of human rituals. What did you find?"
Amon pressed his lips, eyes narrowing on Akane. 'Damn Fox.'
Noticing him, the Kitsune stuck her tongue out.
"I was going to ask for your help anyway," Amon said while waving a hand. "Wanted to have a nice breakfast first, but I guess we might as well get to it." He slapped his seat and got up. "Levia, come with me."
She stared for a moment before nodding and following him.
Syl, Akane, and Rita remained.
"Is one of you going to feed me?" Rita asked.
"Do you even need food?" Akane countered.
"Guess I'll feed her." Syl said.
"You're being…" Akane raised an eyebrow. "Awfully cooperative with the Succubi today."
Syl scratched her cheek.
"Before, it was Amon that fed me, so on the prisoner-feeding pyramid, the job falls onto me."
"Hm… I guess."
"He fed you, huh?" Rita smiled. "Did he have you in cuffs as well?"
"It was a rope," Syl shrugged. "And it was Akane that had me in-"
"That's not true! You came to us already with the rope!"
"But you wanted it to stay, so-"
"Only for a little bit!" Akane took great offense. "Can you blame me, though?"
Syl scratched her head awkwardly. "I'm just making conversation, joking around."
"Yeah, yeah. Joke around with your Succubi friends."
"Nahaha!" Rita laughed out loud. "You two are funny."
"Sure," Akane turned towards her. "What about your friend? Where is she?"
"Still sleeping, maybe?" The Succubus shrugged. "Why do you care anyway-"
Meat was shoved into Rita's mouth before she could finish the question.
"Akane," Syl called out. "Are you alright?"
The Fox paused for a moment, rubbed her forehead, and let out a sigh.
"Sorry, I'm just… I don't know. I prefer when Amon is around."
Syl and Rita were immediately silenced by that, though it wasn't at all how they thought it was.
Akane scratched her head, clicked her tongue, and stood up to leave.
"What's her deal?" Rita sighed as Akane walked away.
"She's been through a lot," Syl whispered.
"She was fine before you and Levia showed up. I guess… She was fine until Amon left."
"Right."
"Right…" Rita echoed.
The two remained silent for a bit.
"So, anyway," The Succubus turned towards the female Hobgoblin seated next to her. "What do you think about Amon?"
"...!"
