Re:Goblin -Rise Of The Evolving Monster-

Chapter 57: Infusion

The Hobgoblin and Goblin corpses twitched as Amon stood at the center.

The Black Stone embedded in the back of his hand pulsed faintly, and with a thought, the black corruption within it began to seep out.

It dripped like tar, hissing as it touched the corpses.

The corruption fell in drops at first. But after a bit, heaps of it started spilling from the back of Amon's hand, from the Black Stone embedded on there like an eye crying profusely.

The veins of the dead Goblins and Hobgoblins blackened instantly as the liquid seeped in, their flesh sagging and tightening as if being hollowed from the inside. Each corpse was filled to the brim

"That'll be your snack," Amon muttered with a chuckle. "Once you get here."

With that out of the way, his gaze fell to the shattered Golem. Its massive body lay in pieces, covered by a gooey liquid similar to the one he had just filled the corpses with. Amon's lips twisted into a smirk.

"Where the hell did you come from?" He muttered before crouching.

A moment later, Amon laid a hand on the nearest fragment of stone previously making up the Golem's body. Instantly, the Black Stone's purplish aura surged.

"Interesting." Amon whispered as the aura moved outwards to cover the whole of the Golem's body as well as the liquid that had fallen from it, before starting to pull it all inward as if a gravitational field had been created.

The Golem's remains dissolved, collapsing into dust that was swallowed by the Black Stone.

[The Black Stone Resonates with your "Evolving Monster" Title.]

[The Black Stone Resonates with your "Palm Of The Devourer" Skill.]

[You have Developed the Skill: "Corruption Infusion[D Rank].]

"I like the sound of that."

[Corruptive Infusion, D Rank Skill:

Imbue corruption into inorganic matter, weakening or strengthening it. When used on weapons or other objects, the Corruption can either be made to spread like rot, eroding the weapons, or to strengthen them.]

He flexed his hand, and black cracks crawled briefly across his skin before fading.

Amon nodded. "Just like the Corrupted Draconic Spawn was using Corruption to strengthen its tail, I can use it to strengthen weapons now. Plus, if the enemy is pierced, then the Corruption will act on its own as the strongest venom."

He scratched his cheek, before lowering his gaze.

"Now that I think about it, there's something else I should be able to do." Amon's hand reached down to the ground. "Hm…" He smirked, as the tips of his fingers sank into his shadow.

Syl sat with her legs crossed and her arms wrapped loosely around herself. A faint line of blood stained her cheek, drying against her green skin. Akane was standing beside her.

"You bled," Akane said with a soft voice. "You bled for me."

Syl looked up, brows furrowing.

"I didn't think you'd go that far." The Fox added.

Syl snorted. "Whatever. I'm not repeating my explanation. I do apologize though…" She looked away, barely keeping herself from letting out a sigh. "For a whole bunch of stuff."

"Yeah…" Akane crouched behind Syl. "I'm glad to hear that."

The next second, the ropes holding the female Hobgoblin's wrists together snapped.

Syl stared at her palms for a moment, eyebrow twitching. She turned towards the standing Akane. "Just like that?"

"Just like that." Akane nodded, before taking a seat.

For a while, the two sat in silence.

Footsteps rustled the undergrowth. Syl's head snapped up first before relaxing. Akane had noticed earlier, but her sense of smell quickly let her know who was approaching.

Amon walked into the clearing, his cloak stained darker than before.

"What the hell happened here?" He asked while looking around at the fallen tree, the numerous marks on the ground and trunks, as well as the blazing flames.

Syl shrugged, as she looked away. "Nothing she couldn't handle." Syl answered, tilting her head toward Akane.

Akane chuckled with a smirk on her face. "Nothing we couldn't handle. By the way, the fire turned out not to be a one-time thing!"

"Glad to hear that." He nodded. "You two seem to be getting closer with every hour. That's nice to see. Plus, I see the ropes are off."

"They are." Akane said proudly.

"Well, she is a goody two-shoes." Syl sighed.

Akane's ears perked, her tail flicking sharply. "You're still going on about that?"

"I wouldn't have taken off the ropes for so little if I were you." Syl muttered.

"Yeah, believe me, I know." Akane said bitterly

"..." Amon noticed the remains. "So you ran into one as well." He said, pointing at the Golem remains.

"You fought one too?" Akane asked. "Do you think it's related to that one?" She was obviously referring to the Corrupted Draconic Spawn.

"Does it really matter?" Syl stood up. "We need to leave. I don't know what's happening here, but it's too dangerous to…"

Her words trailed off.

Amon stared with wide eyes. Akane, embarrassed, looked away.

Syl froze in time and space.

Due to the Golem's attack on her back, her clothes had been hanging on by a thread… That had just given out.

Amon captured the moment and did not look away even for a second.

His gaze made Syl blush violently, and she quickly took hold of the scraps that her clothes had turned into and used them to hide her breasts.

"C-Couldn't you look away?" She stuttered.

"Nah, I'm fine." Amon nodded. "I ran into your friends by the way. Here." He said, tossing a spear into the air. "It's probably not yours, but it should be good enough, right?"

Syl's eyes immediately widened at the sight. She raised her hands above her head, taking hold of the spear with both hands. Feeling the familiar grip she thought she would never feel again, Syl froze… As her torn clothes fell, revealing her breasts again.

"Syl." Akane called out, hiding her face with her hands.

"Oh." Syl exclaimed as she noticed.

"I got another change of clothes as well," Amon said. "Except if you would rather be naked. Wouldn't blame you. Wouldn't mind."

"I'll take the clothes." She nodded. "Thanks."

"Aren't you trying a bit too hard?" Akane whispered in his direction.

"Can't blame a man for trying, can you?" Amon sighed as Syl started putting the newly-acquired set of clothes on.
