The Reborn Demon King Girl

Chapter 114 Meeting

Nephilim was actually quite confused.

She was always wondering if her choices were correct.

The Curse Master Alliance should stand on Mohe's side, while she herself wanted to side with Doro—which was impossible.

The Curse Masters couldn't sever ties with Nephilim, even if she wanted to. As a leader of a faction, stepping down isn't as simple as wishing to do so. To put it bluntly, Mohe's price was: "The Curse Masters transform into Wizards."

However, this price was for the entire "Curse Master Alliance."

It wasn't just about buying an individual Curse Master Alliance; it included the price of Nephilim.

If you suddenly ran over to Doro's side, it would be outright fraud against Mohe. Of course, Mohe might not trouble Nephilim at Doro's side, but her deal with the Curse Master Alliance could just as well begin to fall through. You get what you pay for. If you leave, do you still expect the transaction to be completed perfectly?

That's impossible.

She was in Mohe's mansion when she met the Wise King.

The Wise King of today was quite different from the past. The old Wise King appeared to be a gentle and refined man, always composed, as if everything in the world was within his control. Now, the Wise King wore a fitted maid outfit, holding a broom, looking rather adorable. Although still taller than Mohe, he indeed gave off a cute impression.

"Nephilim, personally speaking, I don't really recommend choosing Mohe's side. She might not have the intention of winning. In other words, going into battle might just be giving in, and no one knows if there's an agenda in this fake war. Being on Doro's side might be much better. Although Doro became the Human King, he might not have as many schemes as Mohe."

She appeared very friendly and even provided much information, but this only made Nephilim more vigilant. Dealing with the Wise King was inevitably a strategic maneuver. He was always scheming.

Over the years, the Curse Master Alliance had interacted extensively with the Wise King without much desirable outcome.

"I have no choice."

She answered honestly, "Mohe's conditions are irresistible to any Curse Master. Any creature born in the shadows, even knowing sunlight is dazzling, longs to live under it. Curse Masters have desired these conditions for too long, so I truly have no other options."

"You're not wrong. When you become the leader of an organization, your personal will often can't be expressed anymore. You're propelled by countless things—visible and invisible, benevolent and malevolent, intentional and unintentional.... These things endow you with immense power and push you forward. Sometimes you can't even control your direction."

The Wise King said these things while still sweeping. It didn't appear so prestigious.

"The Demon King wants me to lead everyone into this battle against Doro—so I believe communicating in advance with you is a pretty good thing. We should trust each other more. Otherwise, if the war's result is a failure, I can't say what the Demon King might do."

Nephilim nodded, indicating she understood: "It's no different from the past. When we fought against the Demon King, didn't we follow your orders? Now it's just changed to fighting Doro. Not much of a difference."

It's different though. Back then, I was the Human King, and you were a member of the Hero's team. Of course, I had the authority to issue orders... Now it's different!

"Just in time, you're here too." The Wise King thought a bit and put down the broom, "The Nature Ranger and the Dwarf King are here as well. I mean we should meet, have a discussion, and unify our opinions. You should attend."

Nephilim naturally had little interest in such meetings but wouldn't outright refuse either. After all, Curse Masters' future was to become Wizards and stand beneath the sunlight. She deeply understood the importance of ensuring the Demon King won this war.

Simply put, regardless of whether Mohe would rekindle war with Doro and take the field herself, this battle's outcome will significantly influence the world's state in the near future. To live openly and proudly in the world as the newly reborn "Wizards," winning is essential to proclaim might and unbending will to the world.

Under such circumstances, she couldn't be without allies. The Dwarf and Elf races were natural allies. Though there were many human internal disputes, other races found it hard to intervene. Under the White Church's influence, many believed in human supremacy.

Most Curse Masters were the abandoned among humans. They got along harmoniously with the Elf and Dwarf races.

"Where is this?"

"Mohe's banquet hall."

"Does she allow you to use it?"

"She's not here."

Wearing a maid outfit yet taking an "I am the owner here" stance, the Wise King did see the Nature Ranger and the Dwarf King in the room.

"Long time, no see, both of you."

"You too, Song of the End."

After exchanging greetings, the Wise King sat down: "Today, I've gathered everyone to mainly discuss countermeasures against the White Church, humans, the Mage Union, and the Alchemist Association."

The Nature Ranger showed a bitter smile: "Had the Elf race not gone through such incidents, we wouldn't fear such a situation. But now, even if the entire Dwarf race was committed, it might not truly defeat these huge forces. They're too massive and at their prime, not yet in decline."

The Dwarf King nodded: "And having you in command, with us following your orders—I find it hard to comprehend the Demon King's decision."

"She merely wants to watch me struggle."

The Wise King concluded: "Wants to see me and Charlette contend with each other. I must say she's someone who enjoys a good joke. But this differs from why we're gathered today—I'll just say one thing."

Everyone's gaze fell on her.

"If you wish to win, then trust me unconditionally—I will lead you to victory."

The Wise King's eyes swept over the three: "This is what I have to say. Do you agree, oppose, or have other ideas?"
