The Reborn Demon King Girl

Chapter 34: Return to Baixi Town

When Lisidorwei and Doro came back, they saw Mohe's displeased little expression.

"Hmph~"

Upon seeing the two of them, she didn't greet them as before, but turned her face away in a sulk, looking like she didn't want them to talk to her—though usually, this kind of display really means she wants them to talk to her.

This makes Mohe quite adorable, but her previous girlish demeanor suited this kind of sulking and pouting better... But her beauty is so high that even when she acts like this, it only makes people feel delighted.

"Miss Mohe, you seem to be quite angry?"

"How am I angry?" Mohe naturally refused to admit it, "I just took everyone out shopping, why would I be angry? There's no reason to be angry!"

This was clearly a sign of discontent.

"Lisidorwei and I plan to formally have our wedding here. We're considering whether to hold the wedding here or go back to Baixi Town for it."

"Oh~"

Mohe's angry expression immediately vanished, proving her anger was just for show: "You've finally decided? I think you should go back to Baixi Town to get married, right? It's just right to invite the villagers and neighbors; everyone often takes care of us, and such an occasion like your wedding should gather a lot of attention. Perhaps for the wedding officiator, we should invite a priest—I'll personally go to Sim City later to invite a priest to preside over it."

She promptly offered a suggestion.

After all, Baixi Town is where the residence is located.

She chuckled and said to both of them, "Now, I wonder how many young guys and girls in Baixi Town will be disappointed~ There were quite a few who came to inquire about you before; you both are quite popular."

Saying this, she became anxious: "There's no time to lose; let's prepare to head back right now! There doesn't seem to be much happening here! Recently, the storm is brewing, and I'm worried about the condition of the residence; Baixi Town is our true home."

She was normally not in a hurry, but suddenly seemed to become anxious about it. It's understandable, considering it's nearly a month since they set out from Butuo City, setting aside the journey time. Although the city has been relatively stable during this period, that's only from the common people's perspective—the changes in Butuo City still continue.

The dwarves seemingly have no intention to withdraw, and the Pope seems to remain here.

They are indeed wary of Doro; such an extraordinary force is constantly within the city, unclear what might happen. So all confrontations are confined to verbal sparring and the undercurrents of various factions rather than open conflicts. No one knows what Doro might do if provoked.

To make matters worse, the Demon King is here too.

Compared with the past, Butuo City now has two huge attractions—the World Tree and the Earthly Heaven statue.

In a sense, these could already be considered iconic landmarks.

Doro had always thought Mohe would do some recovery to a certain extent, but it looks like Mohe has no such intention.

At least the World Tree sounds quite remarkable; it's hard to imagine Mohe would simply abandon such a magnificent creation—Doro dare say that as soon as Mohe leaves, someone would immediately vie for the ownership of the World Tree, and in the struggle, they might directly chop it down.

But perhaps this is also part of Mohe's plan.

Doro couldn't fathom it, after all, these are Mohe's actions and Mohe's plan—how could he guess Mohe's plan?

Just not being led by the nose is worthy of thanks to heaven.

It takes roughly ten days to return... This has been almost a two-month outing. Originally, Mohe mentioned it was too cold in winter, hence coming to Butuo City for vacation. This place is indeed warm. Moving slightly away from Butuo City, one encounters icy landscapes.

Which might also be nice scenery.

"Then let's get ready to go!"

Doro agreed with Mohe's suggestion.

"It seems our Mr. Doro might already be somewhat impatient for the wedding~"

Everyone returned to their rooms individually to start packing their belongings.

While Mohe was packing her things, Lisidorwei came to Mohe's room.

"Lisidorwei, as a competent woman, shouldn't you be helping our dear Mr. Doro pack to demonstrate your feminine charm? Why are you here with me?"

Lisidorwei sat on Mohe's bed looking very casual: "Mr. Doro proposed to me but said he doesn't love me, and I don't love him. Do you think he truly means it from his heart?"

Mohe paused in her packing and stared at Lisidorwei: "Did he really say that?"

Lisidorwei nodded: "He said it's just right because he doesn't truly love me, and I also don't truly love him, so we are just right for marriage. He said this is the beginning of our relationship, not its climax. Marriage is the start, not the end. My shallow wisdom cannot grasp his real intention; you are the one who knows him best, so I came to ask you."

"You're showing me quite a respectful attitude now, Lisidorwei, but I can only tell you, I don't know either." Mohe replied with an answer that surprised Lisidorwei, "Humans are a very interesting race; in this era, beings like A·Gedora and Adeline have emerged—people whom even I admire. This race continuously brings surprises to me, so I don't know their true thoughts. Even though I've done some research over the years—this observation must continue for a long time, and my gaze hasn't lingered on them long enough. So I can't provide you with an answer; you have to find it yourself."
