Drawing Cards in the Middle Ages to Rise in Ranks

Chapter 220: Deep-Sea Dragon Hunter

Hog asked confidently, "Sir, are you satisfied with the journey?"

"Satisfied."

This place is a forbidden zone for humans, something Losa had only seen in documentaries before.

Everywhere here were strangely shaped crabs, fish, and mollusks.

Some glowing, tube-like worms akin to coral polyps gathered together, swaying with the waves, casting a glorious array of colors.

On the gray-white sands, predators lurked among the gravel, suddenly emerging when crabs crawled over.

Even the great emperors and generals recorded in history books could never witness such a wondrous sight.

Losa suddenly felt his chest tighten, the Dragon Bloodline within him flowing rapidly, causing the veins on his body to bulge.

Losa muttered to himself.

"This feeling of excitement mixed with fear, is it almost here?"

His pupils transformed into cold-blooded vertical slits; from Hog's perspective, the figure of the Demon Dragon coiled in the Abyss became even more vivid.

"Are you alright?"

Soft fingertips pricked his palm.

Coming back to his senses, he saw Prajna's eyes containing hidden concern.

Losa clutched his chest, taking several deep breaths.

"Don't worry, I'm fine."

"Sir, have you reacted?"

Hog looked delighted.

What he said made me feel like I'm about to be pregnant.

Losa frowned, "Indeed, there is a peculiar 'feeling'."

"Great, this means we're on the right track!"

Hog laughed awkwardly, "Frankly, I only remembered the general location, there aren't any reference points to compare in the seabed; I didn't expect we'd be this close."

After speaking, he confidently continued:

"Sir, just watch, our Ocean Disaster is a pro at hunting such sea monsters."

He pointed at the giant whaling harpoon placed at the bow of the ship and the ramming horn installed further ahead: "Made from Leviathan Giant Whale bones, crafted by the Master Craftsman of Sunken Ship City; and a ramming horn fashioned from a narwhal's tooth."

"Narwhal?"

"It should be its tooth."

In Losa's past life, there also existed creatures known as narwhals.

"Ha, sir, you must know this is another world; the narwhals here are huge, full of sharp teeth, topped with a single horn, a true overlord of the sea."

Hog laughed heartily.

Losa realized, "There may be many types of narwhals, anyway, the name is merely for whales with long horns."

"That's right, it is."

Hog waved, and a giant-like marles approached the three with a tray.

It appeared taller than Marles, expression somewhat bashful, with a ghostly hermit crab perched on its shoulder.

The crab and marles simultaneously revealed black, curious eyes.

"Sir, please have some."

Hog explained, "This is grape wine from India, a captain's treasure."

"Coming from Gujarat?"

Fire Worship forbids alcohol; Northwestern India, due to long invasions by Sassanid Persia and other Fire Worship nations, has largely embraced Fire Worship, while more Eastern areas still adhere to native religions.

Losa tasted a small sip.

Sour and sweet, hardly any alcohol, simply grape juice.

Draining the bottle, Losa's mind settled slightly.

As the Ocean Disaster sailed forward, they traversed a deep valley, revealing a vast open scene.

A faint luminescence glowed deep underwater.

Losa could clearly see.

The remains of an enormous beast lay peacefully like a hill on the ocean floor.

It must have been a magnificent beast in life, the Ocean Disaster appeared small like a child before it.

It lacked wings, such a massive body, even with Magic Power-infused wings, would struggle to soar into the air.

Overall, it resembled a giant snake, just bulkier in size.

"Truly astonishing."

Though paltry compared to the giant whale witnessed en route, the impact on Losa was more profound than that unseen whale.

Clutching his chest, his heart pounded violently, the Dragon Bloodline within eagerly—yearning to absorb growth nutrients from this native Dragon Species.

Sadly, it had been dead for a long time.

Hog laughed, "We might attempt to cut off a piece of its remains to bring to land, although after soaking for so many years, it's probably close to rotting."

Losa disregarded the skeletal remains, his tone urgent from the bloodline's yearning, "Can you sense the scent of that subspecies Sea Dragon now?"

Hog closed his eyes, sensed for a moment, shook his head, "No, but we've already intruded upon its territory, it will come to us—Sir, next is the 'Ocean Disaster's show."

The Ocean Disaster did not slow its speed, merely circled the Sea Dragon remains.

The sound of rushing water surged suddenly.

In the distance.

A massive shadow swiftly approached.

"It's coming!"

Losa could clearly sense it drawing nearer—also yearning to devour his Dragon Bloodline for metamorphosis.

The water flow visibly accelerated, and the sound grew more intense.

Hog displayed obvious excitement on his face, agilely climbed the mast, whistling, "Boys, let your leader's leader see our prowess!"

"Row team ready, gunners ready, Ocean Disaster, full speed ahead!"

As if countless grim spirits were carrying the already decaying hull of Ocean Disaster forward, surrounding water flow significantly increased.

Several fish unable to dodge ended up on the deck, torn apart with laughter by zombie sailors and stuffed into their mouths.

"Turn the rudder!"

"Fools, get off the great Captain Hog's exclusive helm."

Hog shouted.

A shadow barely touched the side of the ship.

Boom—

The Ghost Ship beneath swayed violently.

Barnacle debris fell off the ship's side, Hog stood at the helm, steering single-handed, with the other raised, laughing, "See, this fool thinks it's fast, but we're faster!"

"Boys, give it your all!"

In the rowing room, zombie sailors worked even harder.

As the urgent water flow reached their ears, the subspecies Sea Dragon clearly attempted another ram.

The Ocean Disaster, with extreme agility, dodged the collision again.

This time, well-prepared, Losa clearly saw the subspecies Sea Dragon, its body akin to a giant snake but covered in deep blue scales.

"Time for our counterattack, whaling harpoon, remove the rope, aim and fire!"

A dozen sailors carried the giant whaling harpoon, installing it on the Crossbow Cannon formed from white bones.

Just as the string released.

It seemed like a dying sea beast let out a long screech.

Bam—

The whaling harpoon seemed to strike.

An angry roar echoed in the darkness, followed by another collision.

But the Ocean Disaster still dodged this collision with incredible flexibility.

Hog shouted, "No need to rush, Sir, it's far from dead; my whaling harpoon will continually drain its Life Force, the longer the delay, the weaker it gets."

Losa nodded.

He had no intention of striking; although the Holy Spear has a sure-hit feature, it doesn't mean it can hit anywhere.

For such large sea creatures, without hitting a vital point, it's hard to inflict major damage.

And with Losa's Spiritual Power, without killing the enemy and gaining on-the-spot upgrading, he can only use the Holy Spear once.
