Betting on the Power of Will, Maximus continued to fight the Chaos Destroyer, while trying to master it.

However, as tens of millions, then hundreds of millions of years passed, Maximus' luck seemed to have run out.

While the Chaos Destroyer recovered from its weakened state and deepened its mastery of the Myriad of Destruction, Maximus was still stuck.

Though he had combined two types of will into one, adding another seemed impossible.

"What's wrong? You seem to have become weaker," the Chaos Destroyer mocked, feeling its attacks starting to affect Maximus.

Not bothering to answer, Maximus continued to deduce what had gone wrong.

But as time passed, while the Chaos Destroyer's attacks grew stronger, he still couldn't find a breakthrough.

"Is this the limit of the Power of Will?"

Bam~

In a momentary daze, Maximus was suddenly sent flying by the Chaos Destroyer.

Seeing his disfigured body from the attack, Maximus snapped back to his senses.

"No! Don't lose hope! I will win! I will comprehend the Power of Will!"

"It's over. Just back down and let me kill you!" the Chaos Destroyer mocked, growing more arrogant.

It seemed that studying the Myriad of Destruction hadn't been a waste after all.

Feeling its power and connection to the Myriad of Destruction grow deeper, the Chaos Destroyer felt more alive.

It seemed far better than devouring those treasures!

"To thank you, I'll give you the end you deserve…"

"Not yet!"

Unwilling to give up, Maximus continued to fight while comprehending the Power of Will.

Meanwhile, hidden in the shadows, Lazarus watched with growing fear as the Chaos Destroyer's power and understanding of the Myriad of Destruction grew.

If before he still had some hope of defeating it, now he was only filled with dread.

The strength of the Chaos Destroyer seemed infinite.

The longer the battle went on, the stronger it became.

"Tsk! This Maximus! He should be the one to blame!"

Though he hadn't watched the entire fight, Lazarus could still deduce much of it.

Feeling hopeless, Lazarus realized his chances of devouring the Chaos Destroyer were now impossible.

Looking at his body, still resembling an Origin Dark Beast, great hatred spread through his heart.

"Hmph! If I'm doomed, I'll take everyone with me!"

Turning toward the Central Planar Chaos Region, a plan formed in his mind.

Guiding the strongest Dark Beasts around him, he devised a plan of destruction.

In the Central Chaos Region,

Almost an epoch had passed since Maximus left to contain the Chaos Destroyer, yet the Overlords, Archons, and Overseers didn't stop or even slow their onslaught.

As they had vowed, they wouldn't stop until their hero returned.

Giving their full efforts, over a million Archons and countless Overlords had joined their ranks.

Even the Overseers, influenced by Maximus, began delving into the Myriad of Laws.

Still, despite everything heading in a positive direction, the fluctuating battle from a distance left worry in their hearts.

Especially Maximus' family. Not having heard from him for hundreds of millions of years, a gloom never left their faces.

Even so, despite their worry and yearning, it didn't hinder their strength. Instead, it fueled their growth, pushing them to smash every Dark Beast around them and give every ounce of its power to Maximus.

Suddenly, amidst their endless battle, a feeling of apprehension crept into their hearts.

"What is it? Are we being attacked?"

"No! Is it Maximus? Is he alright?"

Thinking the premonition concerned Maximus, panic set in.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, seeing the tide of Dark Beasts suddenly multiply, they realized it wasn't about Maximus.

"It's just Dark Beasts..."

"Huh~ Had me worried for nothing."

"What are these Dark Beasts up to this time? Are we at the end of their tail?"

They had long learned that these Dark Beasts were just migrating, and it just so happened that they were heading toward them.

Believing they had caught up with the majority of the Dark Beast tide, they didn't worry too much.

However, the Overseers sensed something different.

"This feeling… Is it Lazarus?!" Luxion muttered with a frown.

Although it was like a chaotic mix, he was certain the aura was just like Lazarus.

"Lazarus? So he's here…"

"Haha, that bastard is finally ready to die? This time, we won't let him escape—"

Just as Sunkrith was about to finish speaking, a giant beast appeared before them.

"This—"

Suddenly, a massive blow of assault came, causing Sunkrith to instinctively block the attack.

Bang~

Thrown back, Sunkrith felt his entire body collapse.

Dazed, he realized that if not for his recent training, he would have died.

"You—how could you be so strong—" Using the last of his strength, Sunkrith turned toward Lazarus to ask the question.

But instead of an answer, what greeted him wasn't the Lazarus he remembered, but a Dark Beast oozing with dark energy.

"You! Have you turned into a Dark Beast?!"

Not only was Sunkrith shocked, but all the Overseers, Archons, and others couldn't believe their eyes.

"Turn... into... Dark Beast?! Blame... ALL of YOU?!" Consumed by hatred and destruction, Lazarus couldn't form a coherent sentence.

"Have you gone insane?"

Unable to understand most of his words, they frowned in confusion.

"Lazarus… Have you fallen this low?" Luxion sighed at the sight of his former rival.

Perhaps it would have been better for him to be killed by them, rather than seeing him like this.

Meanwhile, hearing their words, Lazarus grew even angrier.

Having spent so much time with the Dark Beasts, he didn't even realize how much he had changed.

Though he still thought himself sane, to others, he appeared to be nothing more than a Dark Beast that had inherited Lazarus' power.

"Hmph! DIE... all of you! DIE! DIE! DIE!!"

Fed up with the insults, Lazarus went on a rampage.

"Not good! Retreat! Leave this place to us!"

Instructing the other Archons, the Overseers faced Lazarus alone.

Boom~

Unfortunately, it was as if they had been struck by the Chaos Destroyer, so that all of them couldn't muster any defense.

"Argh~"

In pain from their utter defeat, fear began to fill their hearts.

"This—are we really going to end like this?"
