Reborn with Consumption System

Chapter 145: It's a Deal_2

Pan Ge realized this but was helpless.

She really didn't want to continue the conversation.

Once the topic turned this way, that crazy-talking bastard was unbeatable, so what could she counter with?

She could only change the subject.

"I forgot to ask you yesterday, why did you suddenly invite me to the jewelry exhibition?"

Little did she know, the one most amused by the change of subject was the scoundrel himself.

Han Lie didn't play coy, but he did reserve a sliver of surprise for her. "I've been making quite a bit of money recently and thought about buying you a gift. The mass-produced jewelry on the market isn't worthy of you, so I specially got us places at the exhibition. You can try to guess which piece I picked out for you later."

At this, Pan Ge was truly delighted, smiling sweetly, a faint dimple even appearing at the corner of her mouth.

Han Lie was startled. "Holy shit, you actually have dimples?"

"Just noticed?"

Pan Ge pouted but didn't get angry. In a good mood, she explained to him, "Usually I don't. It's only when I smile in a particular way that a faint one appears."

"What kind of 'particular' way?"

Han Lie pinched her chin, looking closely, but to no avail.

Pan Ge slapped his hand away and turned to enter the elevator, which had finally arrived.

"Keep guessing!"

Actually, Han Lie had pretty much figured it out. It probably only appeared with a slight smile, when her lips were pursed, and not when she laughed out loud. Some people are like that; it's just uncommon. Such people often reveal a charm in small details that's different from their usual demeanor, like hidden treasures, always bringing surprises. At the same time, they don't overuse this charm, making them more intriguing to understand. Without a doubt, Pan Ge was a treasure princess among treasure girls.

Han Lie wanted to tease her a bit more, but when the elevator stopped on the second floor and two more people entered, he had to keep quiet.

The two who had just boarded were a common sight in luxury hotels—an unremarkable-looking middle-aged man with an impressive aura, accompanied by a young woman who could definitely be considered beautiful. The man's watch and the woman's bag were both non-basic luxury items.

The woman clung to the middle-aged man's arm. As the elevator doors had opened, the man's hand had just moved from her buttocks; it was very intimate, or rather, quite brazen.

When the pair saw Han Lie and Pan Ge, the muscles around their eyes twitched slightly, and a flicker of surprise simultaneously crossed their faces.

They were probably marveling at Pan Ge's beauty. The woman, who was quite beautiful on her own, showed a clear and significant gap when compared to Pan Ge. It was just like when Fang Feifei stood next to Xi Luting. Among the many beauties at their university, across all four years, only Xi Luting could possibly contend with Pan Ge.

However, aside from their astonishment, the wealthy man and his beautiful companion made no other moves. The middle-aged man, on the other hand, nodded quite amicably at Han Lie, glanced at the elevator floor buttons, and then stood aside with his hands behind his back, making no attempt to converse with either Han Lie or Pan Ge.

It just goes to show, while schools might be teeming with idiots, society has fewer foolish antagonists. Most successful middle-aged men only pursue targets they feel they can control, and they detest unexpected situations beyond their influence.

The elevator ascended silently. Han Lie took the invitation from his bag and handed it to Pan Ge.

Little Black Heart casually opened it for a quick glance. There was some anticipation, but her interest in the jewelry exhibition itself wasn't particularly high. Clearly, this wasn't her first exhibition.

Instead, it was Han Lie who was stunned by the scene before him when he exited the elevator.

To the right of the elevator was the exhibition hall entrance. It had obviously been redecorated, with "Cartier" in golden letters above the doorframe. The entryway and archway were stylishly designed, and two handsome young foreign men stood on either side of the door—they wore red pillbox hats, red uniform jackets, and loose black trousers, looking as if they had stepped out of the last century.

The beautiful woman who had boarded the elevator later was clearly a bit intimidated; her steps involuntarily slowed.

Pan Ge, however, nonchalantly pulled Han Lie towards the main entrance. She didn't even bother showing the invitation to the two young men acting as "doormen," merely clutching it casually in her hand as she walked right through.

The two handsome young men gestured invitingly, uttering something in French—it was definitely French, and certainly not "bèn zhū" (stupid pig).

After they passed, Pan Ge lightly explained to Han Lie, "They deliberately decorated the exhibition hall to replicate the original appearance of Cartier's flagship store on the Rue de la Paix in Paris. Cartier loves to put on this kind of display for their exhibitions, as if their brand alone is supreme."

Well, that was enlightening.

But Han Lie sensed something was off about Pan Ge's attitude and asked suspiciously, "You don't like Cartier?"

Pan Ge smiled, radiating a self-assured independence. "Cartier is undoubtedly number one among high-end jewelry brands, but I prefer Damiani and Bulgari. The former is more fashionable and trendy, while the latter focuses on ultimate luxury. They have a few unique, rare pieces that are my dream."

There are rare treasures even Panzi can't afford? Han Lie immediately became interested.

"Do you know the specific prices?"

Pan Ge gave him a teasing look. "Why? Are you planning to make my dream come true?"

Why not? Spending money on oneself accumulates experience, but spending on a woman? That's a double critical hit!

However, Han Lie didn't admit to it directly. Making promises without the ability to fulfill them is like bragging—not very credible, and it only comes across as arrogant.

"For now, I'm just curious. As for the future... who can say for sure?"

Pan Ge burst into laughter. "They generally cost over ten million. Euros, that is."

Wow, no wonder it's a dream! With those prices, Panzi really couldn't afford many herself. The main reason was probably her father's reluctance to spend that much; it wasn't that he didn't love Pan Ge, but rather that jewelry clearly ranked below the company and investments meant to secure his daughter's future. But Han Lie didn't lose confidence because of this. Panzi herself might be reluctant to spend that kind of money, but that didn't mean Brother Lie was. When he made his first 500 million, he'd dare to spend 100 million on jewelry for her. When he made 2 billion, he'd spend half of it, sweeping up the goods! With 2 billion experience points, when the time came to max out the Special stat... cough cough, to max out all aspects—intelligence, physique, technique, beauty, and labor—wouldn't that be sweet?

With a clear goal in mind, Han Lie didn't reveal it right away but instead joked, as if teasing her, "When I make big money, I'll buy you one, and you and Xi Luting can put on a show for me. How about that?"

Pan Ge, with her little princess air, was once again thrown off guard. Since it wasn't convenient to bite him then and there, she could only blush furiously and shoot the scoundrel a fierce glare.

"Stop talking so big! If you really buy it for me, a show? That's nothing! I'll wear white stockings, she'll wear black ones, and we'll 'silk' you senseless!"

These were clearly words spoken in a fit of pique, yet Han Lie's—no, Dog Lie's—eyes sparkled as he extended his hand to her.

"Is it a deal?"

Pan Ge swatted his hand away irritably. "It's a deal! You'd better work hard."

Her attitude wasn't entirely dismissive, but it was clear she mostly regarded this promise as a form of encouragement.

This girl was really something! She actually fell for that trap...

Brother Lie, feeling great, led her to meet the approaching jewelry expert.
