Dorian leaned against the bar, searching the man's eyes for a while.
[The skill Analysis is active.]
[Name: Lion Yaima.]
[Class: Warrior.]
[Rank: Master.]
[Special ability: Dual-wielding.]
[The target is feeling confident and smug.]
[The target understands that you won't lay a finger on him.]
Dorian sighed. "Well, that won't do now, will it?"
Before moving forward with the thought that crept into his mind, he first turned his gaze to his father.
"Father, would it be too much to ask if you gave me some time alone?"
James was surprised. For what reason would his son want to stay alone in such a place with a soldier from the Embre viscounty?
"Son, I thought I mentioned no heroics today?"
"I promise, it's not that. I just would rather you not see what I am about to do. You know, keeping it family-friendly," replied Dorian with a warm, almost innocent look on his face.
"I see." James knew nothing he said was going to change Dorian's mind, especially since he himself barely understood what was going on.
"Fine, I'll leave a guard right outside in case anything happens."
"Sure."
With that, James was gone, his footsteps receding as he finally exited the cell room.
Now alone with the soldiers from the Embre army, the first thing Dorian did was break the padlock keeping the leader of the army imprisoned. Lili could read Dorian's mind, so she was already smiling at what was to come.
After breaking the lock on the cell, Dorian slowly walked in, standing right in front of Lion, who was still seated on the bench.
Lion pondered for a while...
Why did Dorian suddenly open the door? Was he going to let him out? Or perhaps he thought he could talk more if he was inside the cage? Hell, at some point, the thought of killing Dorian if he dropped his guard even crossed the man's mind.
However, that thought quickly vanished when Dorian suddenly clenched his fist, raising it right above his head.
"Ahn?"
Bamm!
His fist smashed against the soldier's face, causing him to look to the side in shock as blood and a single tooth spewed out of his mouth.
The other soldiers who watched gasped, surprised to see that their commander could bleed.
When they got captured by Maria and the Aurelian army, the reason they lost was due to the dragon who intervened, or at least this was what they believed.
As such, Lion made them understand not to fear a single soldier in the barony, labeling them as weak and spineless, while also wondering how they were able to get an extinct creature on their side.
But after seeing Dorian land one punch on Lion, nearly sending him to his death, their entire perception changed in a matter of seconds.
The punch was so fast, Lion didn't even know it was coming until it had damaged the side of his face.
"Now that I have your attention, I believe you are going to answer my questions, no?" Dorian uttered with utmost seriousness.
While Lili simply pointed at the prisoner with her bat, screaming, "Again, again!"
For a brief second, the ringing in his ears didn't want to go down. At least, not under Lili, who had turned into her human form, stood at the side, and helped him move his head to face Dorian.
'Did I hit him too hard? I tried to hold back, though. Did my body also change after my second coming? Or is this the effect of the god aura?'
"I- I don't know what you want me to say," Lion finally spoke, barely able to keep his head straight. "My lord retreated with his daughter after the dragon arrived. I know nothing else."
Sigh.
Baam!
Dorian landed another punch, this time, removing multiple teeth from the man's mouth.
His breath became labored and his vision blurred. The only thing he could see and hear was Lili waving at him to make sure he was still alive.
"Dude, you can barely keep your head up and you're still lying to me?"
Dorian sighed once again, his fist dripping with blood.
Ishtar had already told him almost everything he needed to know about the army, but the one thing she couldn't reveal was the soldiers' tactics during battle.
According to her, they were mostly confidential, and only one person was allowed to hear them and distribute them to the rest of the army when necessary.
The name she gave Dorian was Lion Yaima, the leader of the entire army. It's no wonder Ciel took him instead of the viscount. Actually, now that he thought about it, Ishtar had to be behind this too.
She is most likely waiting to see how it would all play out.
Dorian stared at the man for a while, and then raised his fist, ready to send yet another strike.
"Wait! I'll talk. I'll talk."
For someone so weak that one of his eyes was swollen shut, his voice sure was loud.
"Finally. Do you think I like hitting you? You people take your job too seriously. Now, I know you know what I want to hear. And you know that I know that you know that I know what I need, so don't fuck with me and tell me everything."
"O-our plan was... to distract the army while our second squad sneaks in and assassinates the head family. If they did, then Viscount Embre would take it all for himself with no one to oppose. But since that dragon appeared, that went down the drain. Now, he will most likely use us as a bargaining chip, but I don't know what will happen from there."
"..."
"I-I do know the viscount is not stupid enough to send another attack, not when you guys control dragons. I assume he… will ask for a peace truce or something."
"Eh? No fair, no peace, Master! Don't listen to this big-headed man; let's go and do the same to that other man. Lili wants to fight!" Lili uttered, while smacking Lion on the head.
Lion panicked a bit. "If you launch an attack, it will be—"
Lili covered his mouth before he could speak.
Meanwhile, Dorian remained where he was, his hand on his jaw as he thought about it for a while longer.
