Awakening: Mage of Oblivion with SSS-Level Infinite Evolution Talent

Chapter 84: Calamity Minotaur and Calamity Sentinel Ghost's Class and Talent

Star Healing! Immunity Shield!

Grace stood at the rear, her staff glowing as she worked nonstop to keep Ghost alive.

She was a support-mage through and through.

Her bright magic wrapped around Ghost like a shield, soft light clashing against the crimson pressure flooding from the two monsters before them.

Ghost herself was already in motion, her twin daggers flashing as she darted between attacks, weaving through the deadly swings of two legendary-rank bosses.

"Even with that buff…" Ghost's voice was low, sharp, her eyes narrowing behind her hood. "These monsters shouldn't be this strong. That eye… it definitely had something to do with it."

Grace shivered at the mention of the giant eye.

Every player on Earth had seen it.

That colossal, crimson eye glaring down from the sky for a few seconds before vanishing.

For most, it was nothing more than a terrifying vision, but they had felt it.

The weight. The fear. The crushing force that made even the strongest tremble.

What they didn't know was that Stark had seen more: panels, text, the truth behind that being.

Only he knew that the creature had been the [God of Calamity].

To everyone else, it was just horror.

And when that horror faded, the monsters changed.

Every single creature on Earth had been branded with a [Calamity Buff].

Ghost could still carve through most enemies if she pushed herself.

Her skills, her talent, and her hidden-class gave her more strength than nearly anyone else.

But legendary-rank bosses with that buff?

Even for her, this was pushing it.

Her daggers clashed against crimson armor, sparks flying, her body barely dodging the minotaur's massive swings.

'Oblivion…' Ghost thought, her instincts flaring.

Her [Assassin's Intuition] never lied, and right now, it screamed at her.

'You had something to do with this.'

She didn't know how. She didn't know why.

But her gut told her Stark was connected to the eye, to the buff, to all of it.

There was no time to question him though.

Her focus locked back onto the two monsters towering over her.

---

[Calamity Minotaur (Level 25)]

[Rank: Legendary (Calamity Buff)]

[HP: 550,000]

---

[Calamity Sentinel (Level 25)]

[Rank: Legendary (Calamity Buff)]

[HP: 600,000]

---

'I need to hit their weaknesses,' Ghost thought grimly, 'That's the only way my passive will trigger.'

Her SS-Rank talent, [Eternal Ghost], was broken.

Her first passive worked against ANY type of being, whether it was a basic monster, boss or player.

Everyone who knew about it feared her for that reason alone.

But the catch with that was that he had to actually find and land a blow on those weaknesses.

Still, she had to try.

Slash! Slash!

Her daggers blurred as she went for the minotaur's exposed head, the only part of its body not protected by armor.

The beast was a towering wall of muscle, two meters tall with a massive club that could smash houses to rubble.

Each swing carried enough force to crush her bones outright.

The [Calamity Sentinel] was no easier.

A tall knight clad in crimson armor, wielding a long sword with precision and discipline.

If the minotaur was brute force, the sentinel was sharp, refined killing intent.

They attacked in perfect rhythm, one striking while the other retreated, giving her no breathing room.

"S-Should I attack?" Grace asked hesitantly, her staff glowing faintly. "I have some offensive spells…!"

"No," Ghost's reply was calm as she ducked under a club swing. "Just focus on helping me."

The ground split as the minotaur's club smashed down where she had been standing.

Dust exploded outward.

Ghost blurred to the side, vanishing in a flicker of movement.

Fwish!

The sentinel's blade slashed for her neck—

Bam!

It connected with a shimmering barrier instead.

Grace's [Immunity Shield].

Ghost exhaled sharply, giving the girl a brief glance before vanishing again into motion.

Grace's presence was the only reason she was still alive.

And it wasn't just shields.

Because even when Ghost was harmed...

Star Healing!

Wounds closed across Ghost's side where blood had been dripping moments ago, her body pulled back toward peak condition.

For a support-mage, Grace was beyond valuable.

Her [Star Prophet] class was one of the rarest support classes.

But what made her terrifying wasn't her class. It was her talent.

[Goddess of Luck], An SS-Rank talent.

Her luck stat was absurdly high, tilted so far in her favor that chance itself bent for her.

Though she still hadn't activated it for some reason.

She was wasted in Stark's past life, never fully dedicating herself to the game, dying too early to matter.

But now? With Ghost as her partner, she was thriving.

The two made a solid team.

Strength Buff!

A golden aura flared around Ghost, and her movements sharpened.

She dashed toward the minotaur again, daggers flashing.

The beast swung its massive club, but she twisted past it, her figure blurring like smoke.

Ghost Slash!

Her daggers struck the minotaur square in the face.

-47,400! -47,400!

Blood sprayed, the beast reeling back.

But the instant-kill didn't trigger.

"Tch, seriously?" Ghost hissed.

BAM!

The sentinel slammed its blade into her side, sending her crashing across the ground.

"M-My healing is still on cooldown, hold on!"

Ghost spat blood, her health dropping sharply.

Her vision blurred for a second, her body screaming in pain.

Her second passive threatened to trigger.

---

[Eternal Ghost (SS-Rank)]

[Description: The "Eternal Ghost" will never die, no matter how much they are struck. From the shadows, they will reduce all to nothing.]

[Passive #1: If you manage to hit an opponent's weakness, there is a chance you will instantly kill them.]

[Passive #2: Upon receiving a mortal wound, the "Eternal Ghost" will endure it and be strengthened, fighting back from the brink of death.]

---

She had never triggered that second passive before.

When she died to [SoulsGod] in her past life, it hadn't activated because she had been stunned.

But now… now it felt like it was close.

Roooarr!

The minotaur bellowed, rushing forward, not toward her, but toward Grace.

"Hah?!" Grace froze, eyes wide.

'Shit,' Ghost thought, her heart pounding, 'Not fast enough—!'

The club lifted high, aimed directly at Grace's head.

Grace shut her eyes, bracing for death and the loss of 100 Lives.

But before the strike could land—

Piercing Bone Spikes!

Fwish! Bam! Bam! Bam!

Fifteen skeletal spikes erupted from the ground, impaling the minotaur's chest, arms, and legs.

Each spike tore through flesh and bone.

-36,000! -36,000! -36,000!

In an instant, 540,000 damage ripped through the beast.

Its health bar emptied, the creature collapsing with a thunderous crash.

Its club fell to the ground, shattering the earth.

Grace gasped, spinning around.

She didn't need to see him. She already knew who it was.

Oblivion was here.

Thump!

Stark landed lightly from his [Ghost Wolf], staff in hand, his expression calm and unshaken.

The wolf's translucent form stood behind him, golden eyes gleaming.

"Sorry for being late." His gaze flicked to the [Calamity Sentinel], then to Ghost. "Let's deal with the other one."

Ghost blinked at the sheer destruction his spell had caused, surprise flickering in her eyes before she masked it.

She gave a curt nod, daggers tightening in her grip.

The sentinel didn't hesitate.

Fueled by the buff, it charged directly at Stark, sword blazing crimson.

"Hit it from behind," Stark said calmly, "It'll be dealt quickly after that."

Ghost froze for half a second. Her eyes narrowed.

'Wait. Does he know about my class's passive?'

Her class, [Vengeful Assassin], was a hidden-class.

Almost nobody knew its abilities.

One of its passives was that if she struck an enemy outside their line of sight, she dealt ten times her normal damage.

And Stark… had just told her exactly how to use it.

Or perhaps he just said that out of nowhere?

She didn't have time to question him.

She blurred into [Ghost Invisibility], vanishing from sight.

Normally, she didn't risk using it against bosses, if she dropped aggro, enemies would immediately target Starfall.

She wouldn't let Grace die like that.

But with Oblivion here, holding aggro? She could.

The sentinel's sword carved downward toward Stark.

Grace lifted her staff, "Immunity Shield—!"

But Stark didn't even need it.

Storm of Lightning!

Lightning exploded around the sentinel, forcing its body to seize up, stunned for a fraction of a second.

-173,016!

And in that frozen instant—

Ghost reappeared behind it.

Ghost Slash!

-237,000! -237,000!

Her blades tore through the back of its armor, her hidden-class passive amplifying her damage tenfold.

The sentinel staggered, its health bar plunging.

It tried to recover, but it was already too late.

Its HP hit zero, its armored form collapsing to the ground with a metallic crash.

Ding!

The fight was over. Two legendary-rank bosses lay dead.

Grace's eyes lit up, relief flooding her face.

"We… we did it!"

Ghost, however, didn't relax.

Her eyes stayed locked on Stark, sharp and suspicious.

'He knew about my passive,' she thought, 'I never told anyone except for Starfall, and she didn't tell him about it.'

She couldn't figure it out.
