Summoning Players into My Game

Chapter 138: The Demon in Gray

Azure Sky, the sky gradually darkens.

Although the entire city has been attacked by monsters and there are no longer any residents inside, the city continues to operate, with scattered lights illuminating severely damaged streets.

Inside a half-collapsed building, the Blood Wolf Gang, composed entirely of the Werewolf Race and ranked among the top fifty in the wilds of Ten Thousand Stars City, had gathered more than thirty of their elite members. Each wolf face was filled with tension and fear.

"Can any of you tell me what's going on?" The deputy gang leader of the Blood Wolf Gang, Dario, nearly three meters tall and clad in A6 level battle armor, was furious as he looked at the reports from his subordinates, angrily shouting, "In just half a day, how could the twenty-some squads searching this district disappear? That's over two hundred apprentice-level experts gone without a trace! Does no one know what's happening?"

For the Blood Wolf Gang, ranked among the top fifty, despite having many experts, losing over two hundred apprentice-level experts is a significant loss.

More than a third of their apprentice-level experts are gone, a loss far greater than an all-out war with other major gangs.

And the Blood Wolf Gang has no idea what happened. If word gets out, they would certainly be the laughingstock of other wild gangs.

"Deputy Gang Leader, I might know something." A middle-aged Werewolf with the strength of an Advanced Apprentice raised his hand and nervously spoke.

"Speak!" Dario couldn't help but look at that Werewolf, his gaze icy cold, "Who did this! I will make sure they know the cost of provoking the Blood Wolf Gang!"

"Deputy Gang Leader, I only heard it from passing members of other gangs." The middle-aged Werewolf looked around and whispered, "Those gang members say that Azure Sky seems to have imprisoned a group of demons. Due to a malfunction in the city's operations, those demons have now escaped."

"Those demons wear silver-gray T-shirts, moving across various parts of the city. More than fifty gang members have been attacked. Those below the quasi-martial artist level didn't even have time to react and were killed. By the time others reacted, the shadows were gone, leaving only their dead companions."

"Some gangs didn't believe it and set up ambushes to capture them, but the demon was exceptionally powerful. Just one of them took out dozens of besieging experts and still managed to escape."

"Attacked over fifty gangs, took out dozens of besiegers, and still escaped?" Dario couldn't help but frown deeply.

Many of the wild gangs that came to Azure Sky sent their elites, with not a single Basic Apprentice among them. The weakest were Intermediate Apprentices, while leaders were often Extreme Apprentices or Quasi-Martial Artists, and those in A6 level battle armor were likely not few in number.

Under such circumstances, to defeat dozens of gang experts and escape, such power could not be easily matched, even by a Quasi-Martial Artist in A6 level battle armor.

"Many gang members now believe that Azure Sky was not attacked by some monsters, but instead by these gray-shirted demons. Otherwise, how could such a powerful Azure Sky fail to emit a distress signal, leading to the destruction of the entire city?" The middle-aged Werewolf spoke worriedly, "Deputy Gang Leader, we should hurry back. If those gray-shirted demons target us again, it will be difficult for us to retreat."

The Blood Wolf Gang members who heard the report all nodded in agreement.

Below the quasi-martial artist level, they had no power to resist. A single gray-shirted demon was able to defeat dozens of experts. How could they explore Azure Sky like this?

"No!" Deputy Gang Leader Dario firmly refused, "This is a once-in-a-century opportunity. Just yesterday's gains surpassed everything the Blood Wolf Gang has achieved in a year. Are you willing to give up this chance to progress further? No matter how formidable the gray-shirted demons are, they can't stop us from exploring Azure Sky."

"Since the gray-shirted demons are formidable, we might as well never act alone from now on. Everyone will operate as groups of five squads. I refuse to believe that the gray-shirted demons can do anything to the Blood Wolf Gang!"

The Blood Wolf Gang members present felt that Vice Gang Leader Dario was right. The gray-shirted demons were formidable, but they were only one. At worst, they would act in groups from now on.

While the Blood Wolf Gang members were discussing how to divide into groups, a sudden scream came from outside the building.

"We are under attack!" Deputy Gang Leader Dario stood up abruptly, "Everyone downstairs with me! I want to see who dares to attack our Blood Wolf Gang base!"

The Blood Wolf Gang members present also followed downstairs, curious about who dared to directly assault their temporary base.

As everyone headed downstairs, the Blood Wolf Gang members quickly became stunned.

The sixty-plus gang experts originally guarding outside the building had already lost over ten people, and the remaining gang members were battling figures clad in silver-gray long-sleeve T-shirts.

"Gray shirts... it's the gray-shirted demons!"

"The gray-shirted demons have attacked!"

The middle-aged Werewolf watched the silver-gray figures slaughtering and shouted out in alarm.

This situation made all the Blood Wolf Gang members present feel a chill up their spines, their wolf hair and tails standing on end.

One gray-shirted demon had defeated dozens in an ambush. Now, there were six gray-shirted demons present. How were they to fight this?

"What are you panicking about!" Deputy Gang Leader Dario shouted angrily, "Look closely! They are not demons at all, just a group of Human Race experts!"

Under Dario's shout, the panicking Blood Wolf Gang members finally saw their attackers clearly: they were a group of humans wearing silver-gray long-sleeve T-shirts.

However, these humans were strange — none of them used any weapons. They were only holding B2 level arrows in battle, yet their combat was exceptionally skilled. They could accurately pierce the neck or heart, rendering A6 level armor completely useless.

"Which gang are you from? Why are you attacking the Blood Wolf Gang!"

Dario fully activated his A6 level battle armor, wielded his A6 level battle saber, and charged towards a young man armed with a B2 level arrow in one hand and an A6 level Super Electromagnetic Spear in the other, his eyes bloodshot as he demanded loudly in the Human Race's language.

Apprentice-level martial arts, Mountain Opening!

With one slash, his strength doubled, and with the assistance of A6 level battle armor, the slash force reached nearly two thousand kilograms.

The young man was caught off guard, and the arrow in his hand rose to meet the attack.

Bang!

The arrow and the battle saber clashed, sparking, and the intense impact caused the ground beneath their feet to shatter.

The young man took several steps back before stabilizing himself, and though his arm holding the arrow trembled violently, the expression on his face was one of extreme excitement. Instead, he looked at a woman in the distance and spoke.

"Sis, we're in luck; there's a talking leader monster here!" One Leaf Floating Cloud looked at Dario, who was roaring about something, and laughed as he spoke to Ye Qinglu, "This leader monster is quite powerful, if it wasn't for the Body Strengthening Secret Technique I'd mastered, that sneak attack earlier would've crippled my hand."

"A talking leader monster? That implies a fair level of intelligence! Perfect, I'll let it try out my new move!" After having pierced the heart of a Blood Wolf Gang member with an arrow, Ye Qinglu eagerly charged at Dario.

Dario, seeing the two of them not taking him seriously and even insulting his intelligence, was furious.

"I don't care which Human Race faction you belong to, if you dare come against our Blood Wolf Gang today, you're staying here!" Dario said as he raised his saber at the approaching Ye Qinglu.

Seven Spin Slash of Martial Artist Level!

This move was also Dario's trump card, a famous technique he used outside Ten Thousand Stars City, once defeating a fellow quasi-martial artist expert with a single strike.

Suddenly, seven blade shadows coming from different directions sliced towards Ye Qinglu, each carrying nearly a 1500-kilogram force, not something a quasi-martial artist could withstand without using martial arts.

"As expected, he's clever, even knowing martial arts of Martial Artist Level."

"Go!"

Ye Qinglu, not alarmed but delighted by the incoming blade shadows, had six B2 Level arrows strapped to her back that detached and shielded her, forming a spinning round shield in front of her.

Bang bang bang...

A series of crashing sounds rang out, and though the defense shield formed by the arrows was shattered, it completely blocked Dario's Seven Spin Slash.

"How could this be possible!"

Dario, seeing Ye Qinglu unharmed, was astounded, unable to comprehend what she had done.

The arrows first naturally floated from her back and then formed a shield that arduously blocked the martial arts move Seven Spin Slash of Martial Artist Level. Such a combat strategy was entirely unheard of and unseen.

Yet before Dario could regain his senses, he saw a floating arrow stop in front of Ye Qinglu, and she struck out a palm imbued with thunder light.

Bang!

A blinding, scorching white light burst forth. Instinctively, Dario tried to cross his battle saber in front to block, but as he did so, he felt a piercing pain in his chest, and his world began to darken.

"Demons!"

"They truly are grey-clad demons!"

"The grey-clad demons have arrived!"

Members of the Blood Wolf Gang, who were battling on the side, were stunned to see the scorched hole in Dario's chest.

Dario, the second-ranked powerhouse of the Blood Wolf Gang, was instantly defeated, and none of the gang members could clearly see what had happened before he was taken down.

"Run!"

"These grey-clad demons aren't something we can handle!"

A middle-aged werewolf from the Blood Wolf Gang saw this and immediately shouted, then turned to flee without daring to stay a moment longer.

"This leader monster is really disappointing. The Thunder Light Three Techniques I've painstakingly developed start with the Thunder Spear, and it's already over with just the first move. Indeed, the creatures in the outskirts are nothing special," Ye Qinglu looked at the fallen Dario, somewhat disappointed.

After days of research, Ye Qinglu felt that Thunder Light Sword Control would be a good direction for development, so she painstakingly devised three techniques, each more powerful than the last; according to her own estimation, the third technique should reach the Seventh Rank level.

Unfortunately, over an entire day, there wasn't a single leader monster in the whole Azure Sky that gave her a chance to use the second move, let alone the third.

"Sis, why don't we head to the city after we've cleared this place?" One Leaf Floating Cloud watched the scattering Blood Wolf Gang members and suggested directly, without pursuing, "The gang members are getting sneakier, now moving in teams instead of solo or small groups. It's reduced our exploration efficiency. I see Sister Wu's team has cleared what they could with minimal gain, so why don't we go for a big game in the city and check out the high-level maps."

"Alright, there's nothing of value here anyway. Let's deliver the loot and head to the city," Ye Qinglu nodded. "I'm also curious about how the high-level monsters in the city are. If they're too strong, we can return to explore."

"Great! Let's hurry, so the other teams don't beat us to it," One Leaf Floating Cloud said with anticipation.

Azure Sky, night falls.

The rescue team from Chasing Light City arrived near the city.

"These major gangs and families in the outskirts are ruthless. They don't spare anyone who dares to approach. I don't understand why those wild gang members have gone mad; despite the repeated warnings from major gangs in the outskirts, they still rush here at night and keep increasing in number," Qin Mu gazed at the members of various wild gangs running from afar, puzzled.

"I heard them mentioning something about the grey-clad demons coming and wanting to seek help from the major gangs and families in the outskirts," Hou Fei shrugged his ears and translated.
