Abyss Sequence

Chapter 33: Made Public

In the steel jungle of thousands of towering buildings, monsters not native to this place rampage.

They suddenly appeared and charged wildly, slaughtering and devouring the pedestrians leisurely strolling along the streets.

People panicked, fleeing for their lives. The patrol and security robots launched an immediate attack but proved to be ineffective.

The monsters surging from the Abyss Entrance that appeared in the city not only possess deflective shields but are also covered in bone plates, making patrol and security robots' firepower insufficient to kill them.

Some brave individuals drove their cars to crash into the monsters marauding the streets, managing to kill them. But in the next second, even larger monsters squeezed out of the entrance, crushing a sedan underfoot.

The city's garrison quickly responded, dispatching drones to launch suicide attacks to delay the monsters' advance.

Then, floating troop carriers transported soldiers to the areas around the monster-ravaged city center, setting up barricades to limit the monsters' range of movement to a few streets.

However, many people couldn't escape, trapped in various buildings, with monsters even breaking in to hunt humans.

The military commanders decisively dispatched numerous soldiers and police through air drops to protect those unable to evacuate from the buildings in time.

Nevertheless, they barely maintained the situation.

The deflective shields nullified the effectiveness of weapons that usually sweep through any battlefield, and the urban environment limited heavy firepower performance.

Those best suited to fight monsters in such conditions are the Hunters.

Yet no one anticipated that these monsters could interfere with the Hunters' Magic Power, rendering them as powerless as ordinary people.

When Ruan Shuxuan broadcast the newly received information, those trapped in the battlefield fell into despair.

"Yan Luo!"

In the live footage, Ruan Shuxuan suddenly became excited, pointing out the window and shouting, "Yan Luo is here!"

On a bustling avenue crowded with monsters, a breach suddenly appeared.

Yan Luo swung his spear like a stick, and any monster that touched it died instantly.

Most of the monsters on the city streets were dangerous and lethal level, but these levels of monsters were no match for Yan Luo.

Seeing this scene, the commander behind the barricades immediately shouted, "Quick! Advance the line, follow behind Yan Luo, and rescue the people trapped inside!"

The soldiers and police quickly sprang into action. The three-dimensional shields erected in the barricades were unlocked and pulled open to the sides, allowing soldiers and police wearing exoskeletons to lead security robots into the forward streets en masse.

At that moment, Yan Luo took the mobile shield from his back and smashed it on the ground without triggering its mechanism, using sheer muscle strength to prop it up.

The gears locked instantly, securing the fully extended shield.

Yan Luo pushed off the shield with one hand, leaping over it to continue slaying monsters.

He pierced through a monster's body with his spear, and with all his might, flung it away, smashing a flying monster about to attack a tall building from the air; both monsters fell to the ground, crushing several monsters below.

"Shield!"

Yan Luo didn't look back, reaching out and shouting.

The soldiers and police behind him hesitated momentarily before reacting, throwing a mobile shield towards Yan Luo.

Without even glancing, Yan Luo effortlessly caught the mobile shield, expanding it just like before.

With his power alone, he might be able to clear through the street or push into the other side of the Abyss Entrance, but he couldn't rescue everyone trapped in the buildings.

Relying on the mobile shields placed by Yan Luo, soldiers and police quickly constructed a defense line, with the main force behind following closely to advance.

Reinforcements and logistics teams rushed to the high-rise buildings lining the streets, eliminating the monsters inside and rescuing the trapped civilians.

Chen Shan watched Yan Luo's progress closely, relieved to see him continuously advancing without slowing.

However, Yan Luo alone couldn't clear out all the monsters coming from the Abyss Entrance; he needed help from other Hunters.

Thinking about this, Chen Shan sent a message to Wu Zechuan, asking for his advice.

The response from Wu Zechuan was, "I can't make this call; you should ask Yan Luo directly. He's a very decisive person and will make the right choice!"

Seeing this reply, Chen Shan took a deep breath and sent a communication request to Yan Luo.

"What's up?"

Yan Luo connected with Chen Shan, knowing that Chen Shan must want to discuss something important by contacting him at such a time.

Moreover, although Yan Luo was fighting demons, it felt more like a one-sided slaughter.

Neither dangerous nor lethal level monsters could withstand a single blow from Yan Luo.

Chen Shan explained his situation, then softly requested Yan Luo, "Even though I know saying this might seem like moral coercion, could you please share your blood..."

"Let them come!"

Yan Luo said these words without a hint of hesitation.

Hearing Yan Luo's response, Chen Shan was stunned for a long time, realizing he had judged Yan Luo wrongly.

Yan Luo didn't care about these matters; all he cared about was whether he could destroy the demons and close the Abyss Entrance.

"Alright!"

Suddenly, infinite courage surged through Chen Shan's heart.

Then, Chen Shan entered the Hunters' communication channel for the Lingquan City support battlefield, telling them, "All Hunters, head to Yan Luo's location. His blood can help you resist the superpower interference from those monsters!"

Chen Shan suddenly awakened all his Engravings, eight rings of light blooming behind him.

"—Just like me!"

Pushing off the ground, Chen Shan lunged forward.

As he reached the monsters, his Engraving behind him briefly twisted but quickly corrected itself, maintaining Chen Shan's extraordinary power.

Chen Shan swung his long sword, releasing a blade aura.

Wherever the blade aura passed, all monsters instantly ceased all activity, their bodies cleaving into halves as the upper torso slid off.

With one swing, Chen Shan slew eighty monsters!

The urban environment limited his performance; otherwise, his strike could've halved a skyscraper.

Following Chen Shan's message, Hunters already on Yan Luo's battle line quickly gathered near Yan Luo.

Having smashed down another mobile shield, Yan Luo paused instead of advancing further.

Encircled by a group of soldiers, the Hunters arrived behind Yan Luo.

Glancing back, Yan Luo pulled a pistol from a soldier's holster and shot his own wrist.

Everyone was startled, unsure of Yan Luo's intentions.

The next second, they looked stunned.

Yan Luo shot his wrist with a pistol, but it wasn't pierced—only a wound appeared.

Yan Luo discarded the pistol, pressed a bullet against the wound, and asked for a container to let his arterial blood spray into it.

After filling a 500ml water bottle, Yan Luo released the bullet, allowing his muscles to push it out, stopping the bleeding and healing quickly.

"Drink one sip each; more than that is useless."

After saying this, Yan Luo picked up his weapon and charged back into the monster horde.

The massive blood loss was taking a toll on Yan Luo, so he didn't hide any longer, grabbing a monster and biting into it.

The bone plates that even rifle bullets struggled to penetrate were crushed by Yan Luo's bite, the shards accompanied by the monster blood and flesh consumed together.

Dragging a wailing, howling monster with one hand and wielding his weapon against others with the other, people viewing Yan Luo's back felt an emerging wild, savage aura.

His stomach rapidly digesting the monster blood and crushed bones, Yan Luo strode forward vigorously.

A tide of monsters surged ahead, rushing violently, yet he showed no sign of slowing, stamping hard on the ground to propel himself forward—

Savagely crashing into the monster tide!
