Abyss Sequence

Chapter 7: Kill

Yan Luo didn't know what 'demonic creatures' were. To him, there were only prey.

The various abilities of the demonic goat might be tricky, but they weren't beyond dealing with.

Now the demonic goat's hindquarters were severely injured; it wouldn't be easy for it to recover completely. If it had regained mobility, it would've chased after him rather than lying motionless on the ground.

Yan Luo kept his eyes on six directions and his ears on eight, observing the trees around him and listening to the wind flowing between them.

Then, he constructed a three-dimensional figure in his mind.

Thinking of this, Yan Luo began to run.

He transformed into a lumberjack, dashing around the demonic goat, swinging his axe to cut the support points at the bottom of the tree trunks.

"The tree's falling!"

With that shout, Yan Luo pushed the already precarious trees and started running again.

The trees fell in succession towards the demonic goat.

Attracted by the sound, the demonic goat turned its head and saw the tall trunks slicing through the smoke, rapidly crashing down toward it.

Boom!

The first tree slammed onto the demonic goat, making it roar angrily and twist its body, trying to shake the trunk off.

But it couldn't make large movements now; twisting its body would touch its wounds at the back, and the pain would make it slow down its movements. Because of this, it didn't manage to shake the first tree off itself.

Soon, the second and third trees came down.

Their trunks, with the weight of destruction, broke the branches of the first tree, and in damaging the first tree, they were also harmed.

The branches of the three trees intertwined, destructively entangled, as if they had grown together, inseparable.

The massive weight pressed onto the demonic goat, which could have been easily thrown off before by a simple twist, now required over ten times the strength to break free from the suppression of the trees.

Because its legs hadn't healed and its strength hadn't returned, no matter what the demonic goat did, it couldn't escape this cage.

In the Abyss, Yan Luo couldn't do such things.

The scenes in the Abyss couldn't be interacted with, and Yan Luo rarely had the chance to use the surroundings to kill demons.

The Elf World was different; everything here was real, and Yan Luo could use the environment to limit the demonic goat.

Three trees pressed on the demonic goat, immobilizing it, but this was far from over.

Yan Luo ran further away to chop down more trees, letting them fall onto the trees already suppressing the demonic goat, making it even harder for the demonic goat to break free from restraint.

By this time, the smoke had mostly dispersed, and Julia and three drivers saw the scene of the demonic goat pinned down.

The mechanism suppressing the demonic goat wasn't clever, just several trees employing the leverage principle, but they pinned the demonic goat firmly to the ground, making everything but its neck immobile.

Now the demonic goat could only rage helplessly, its forehead tentacles chopping the branches and leaves covering its head, able to do nothing else.

"Yan Luo, are you okay?"

A truck driver used the radio to ask Yan Luo.

Yan Luo came from afar, casually answering, "I'm okay. Now I need to figure out how to kill this demon completely."

The demonic goat's scales were hard and muscles strong, even when Yan Luo used all his strength, he could only cut through some of its muscles.

What would cut off a piece of other demons.

Just then, Julia interjected: [Demonic creatures' vulnerabilities are only the brain and heart. Destroy one of these, and you can completely kill the demonic creature. But be careful, when demonic creatures die, the demon influence infecting them will leak out, so after killing them, completely destroy their body!]

Hearing Julia's words, Yan Luo frowned slightly.

When did 'demonic creatures' appear again? And what was 'demon influence'?

Perhaps realizing Yan Luo didn't understand the concept of 'demon' and 'demonic creature,' Julia patiently explained to him the background of the Elf World and the demons.

After listening, Yan Luo's first reaction was—these 'demon' things actually existed in the world.

According to Julia, demons might be stronger than elves, as even elves must be cautious when handling demonic creatures.

Simply influenced by demons, creatures become much stronger than before, so what if the demon itself comes down?

It seemed necessary to watch out for demons besides the Elf World and Abyss.

Thinking of this, Yan Luo couldn't help but let his thoughts diverge.

Because he always felt like he was experiencing a story from a novel, and the author couldn't find a story to write, so they began overlapping boxes.

Soon, Yan Luo exhaled a breath of muddy air, suppressing unnecessary emotions.

Now was not the time to think about these things; the demonic goat was rapidly recovering, though its current position made it difficult to exert full power, but since there's a chance to kill it sooner, why stand idly by and watch it regain full strength?

Yan Luo remembered Julia's warning that to kill a demonic creature, the brain or heart needed to be destroyed.

For the current Yan Luo, this posed quite a challenge.

The thermite axe could indeed break through the demonic goat's defenses, but those were scales and muscles; beneath the muscles lay bones.

To kill the demonic goat, he must first destroy its bones.

Yan Luo arrived in front of the demonic goat and closely observed the demon.

Even pressed on the ground, the demonic goat was taller than him. Seeing Yan Luo appear in its view, the demonic goat roared angrily, opening its mouth to spew fire.

At that moment, Yan Luo suddenly jumped up, brandishing the axe to strike.

The thermite axe slammed heavily into the demonic goat's forehead, sinking into its head through the third eye socket.

The tentacles protruding from its eye sockets were cut off by the axe blade.

Clang!

Yan Luo slapped the back of the axe, letting the axe blade detach from the axe body, then expressionlessly swung the axe again, hammering the blade farther into the demonic goat's head.

He used the axe body as a hammer, slowly pounding the red-hot axe blade into the demonic goat's head.

"Ugh!!"

The demonic goat frantically shook its head, but Yan Luo grabbed one of its horns with a grappling gun, stepping down and bending backward, firmly standing on the demonic goat's head.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Time and again, continually hammering the axe blade, forcing it deeper into the demonic goat's head.

Gradually, the demonic goat lost the strength to shake its head, its head hung low, life or death unknown.

Dead?

No, Yan Luo was a cautious Hunter; until he was sure he had completely churned the demonic goat's brain into mush, he wouldn't think he had killed it.

Tearing all the shock grenades from his tactical vest, Yan Luo forcefully stuffed the explosives into the wound on the demonic goat's forehead.

While making this move, the demonic goat's body twitched once, but eventually failed to move.

Yan Luo then jumped off its head, standing before its mouth.

"Ugh!"

The dying demonic goat suddenly regained vitality, straining to lengthen its neck to bite Yan Luo's body in half.

Beep——!

——Boom!

All six shock grenades exploded inside the demonic goat's head, instantly destroying its fragile brain, even the nerves didn't escape disaster.

Its forehead and throat simultaneously spurted out a large amount of blood, its body suddenly stiffened, and its head crashed heavily onto the ground.

Looking deeply at the demonic goat's corpse, Yan Luo suddenly asked Julia, "Can demonic creatures be eaten?"

[Ah? Ah...no, no, no! Yan Luo, what do you intend to do? Demonic creatures absolutely can't be eaten! Eating their flesh will make you infected with demon influence, becoming a demonic creature yourself!]

Julia, momentarily unable to react, rushed to stop Yan Luo's dangerous idea once she understood his question.

"That's so..."

Yan Luo lowered his gaze.

Honestly, he really wanted to taste what demonic creatures were like.

But then again, probability dictated he was a 'Saint,' taking a bite...shouldn't be a problem, right?
