Hunter of Mysterious Creature

Chapter 159: The Deranged Hunter

The seemingly blunt scythe blade sliced through the combat uniform with slash-proof effects without any hindrance, opening a deep wound on Huangfu Sha's waist revealing his organs. Huangfu Sha endured the searing pain and directly pressed the gun muzzle against the opponent, pulling the trigger repeatedly!

The sound of bullets tearing through flesh echoed as blood gushed out from the back of the female Hunter. Even if Huangfu Sha's shots didn't hit her heart, they certainly pierced her lungs... Normally, humans who suffered such injuries would lose the ability to fight even if not killed instantly, but this female Hunter acted as if nothing happened, effortlessly pushing Huangfu Sha to the ground and mounted on top, swinging her small scythe to cut open Huangfu Sha's throat!

Huangfu Sha instinctively covered her throat with her hand, yet the hot blood continued to gush through her fingers. Just as the female Hunter was about to swing the scythe again, a loud gunshot like thunder reverberated across the street.

Sun Hang put down the sniper rifle, glanced at the female Hunter still mounted on Huangfu Sha but with her upper body now shredded by the anti-material sniper rifle, and turned to the fisherman, saying, "Hurry up and save her."

"Ah... Oh!" The fisherman was stunned at first, then hurriedly dashed indoors, kicking aside the remains of the female Hunter, and pulled out an emergency medical kit.

"Hemostatic gel... Damn it, where's the hemostatic gel? Who has the hemostatic gel!" shouted the fisherman.

"I've got it!" Shino hurriedly took out a spray can from his bag and handed it over.

The fisherman took the can, shook it vigorously, and sprayed it onto Huangfu Sha's relentlessly bleeding wound.

The white spray quickly solidified into a gel upon contact with the wound, gradually stopping the bleeding, yet Huangfu Sha's condition showed no improvement—her breathing became rapid, her complexion increasingly pale.

"You can't spray it on directly like that!" Shino said rapidly, "Her injury is on the throat, the gel will also block the trachea while stopping the bleeding!"

"Let me do it!" Shino pushed the fisherman aside, took out surgical scissors and two hemostatic clamps from the emergency kit.

"Have you studied medicine?" the fisherman asked.

"No, but I've dissected more live humans than the girls you've dated!" Shino said without looking up.

"Uh... I've been solo since birth..." The fisherman scratched his head and said.

"Then I didn't say anything!" Shino replied irritably, "Is there a clean tube? Like some kind of disposable straw or something?"

"A tube? Where am I supposed to find something like that now?" The fisherman looked around in a daze.

"Use this." Sun Hang took out a ballpoint pen from his pocket, unscrewed the pen tip and back, removed the ink cartridge, leaving just the pen tube to hand to Shino.

"This will do!" Shino's hands were steady, he used surgical scissors to cut away the clotted blood and gel stuck to Huangfu Sha's wound, then inserted the pen tube into her trachea, finally spraying another layer of hemostatic gel outside.

"Adrenaline." Shino held out his hand, and the fisherman promptly placed a syringe into his palm.

After injecting the hormone into Huangfu Sha's veins, her condition visibly improved, her pupils which had been slightly dilated gradually returned to normal.

"Is she...saved now? Or is it just a brief recovery right before death?" The fisherman couldn't help but ask.

"It depends on luck. If the blood that entered her trachea doesn't coagulate and block it, then she still has a chance." Shino's hands were stained with blood, he wiped the sweat from his forehead with a relatively clean part of his hand, and sat on the ground with a hint of weariness, "Otherwise..."

He didn't continue, but the unfinished sentence was clear enough.

"Damn it, what the hell is going on?" The fisherman walked over to the remaining two-thirds of the Hunter's corpse, turned it over, "This person... has she fully gone insane? Or become an aberrant cadaver?"

"The equipment didn't detect any anomalous meme frequencies... logistically, her infection progress should still be within safe thresholds..." Shino said.

"Safe thresholds?! Are you kidding me? Didn't you see just now? She came at us like a mad dog without saying a word, where's the safety in that?" The fisherman shouted, "Even those Angsa people wouldn't be this hostile towards us, right?"

"That I don't know... But that's the result of the detection." Shino collected some samples from the remains on the ground, placed them into the device, "See, the results are the same, three green lights, meaning her infection progress is quite stable..."

"Shino, didn't you tell me earlier that you can't sense her emotions?"

"Yes."

"I think... her body might not be affected, but her mental state may not be normal." Sun Hang said, "Do you remember the survivors mentioned in the intelligence provided by Dubhe Tower?"

"Survivors?" The fisherman turned around, asked, "You mean the survivors from the fourth batch of Hunters who set foot on the island?"

"No, the survivors who escaped to Xiazhou Continent over a hundred years ago after the accident occurred." Sun Hang said, "Their mental state all deteriorated, in short, they went mad."

"Oh, that one, I remember." The fisherman muttered, "I skimmed through that report, didn't pay much attention."

"Shino, have you ever tried using your ability to sense the emotions of mad people?" Sun Hang asked again.

"I have." Shino nodded solemnly.

"How does it feel?"

"Some people's emotions are chaotic, some are extremely paranoid, and others..." Shino paused for a moment, looking at the mutilated remains on the ground, "Just like her, as calm as a stagnant dead water."

"Are you guys suggesting she's gone mad?" The fisherman asked in astonishment.

"Yes." Sun Hang nodded.

"This woman was one of the Angsa Hunters." The fisherman said as he crushed a small piece of scalp at his foot with his shoe, the piece was still clinging to a tuft of bloodstained blonde hair, "No idea about the current condition of the other Hunters, nor whether she was abandoned here or sneaked off alone... damn, why do we have to take the wristband back to the lab to decode its internal data?"

Sun Hang removed the wristband from the corpse's wrist, walked over to another section of torso—notably from a male Hunter, with the chest up and waist down parts severed, the cuts were very smooth, seemingly done by some sharp weapon.

The remains lacked arms, understandably there was no Hunter wristband to be found.

Nevertheless, judging from the skin color, the deceased Hunter should also be an Angsa person.

His thoracic cavity was split open by that insane female Hunter using the small scythe, the internal organs were shredded into a complete mess.
