The Growth of a God

Chapter 21: The Descent of the Ancient God

[Mother Goddess? Seems like someone with powerful backing.]

As the confrontation between the two worlds intensified, Li Hao also naturally heard the murmurs of Hephaestus.

Unfortunately, contrary to what Hephaestus expected, Yao Xin's actions were not merely her own willful decisions.

Long before acquiring all of Bahe Ru's memories, Yao Xin knew the price of forcibly reviving the Divine Remains.

In the last memories Bahe Ru left behind, she did not hope for the Ancient God revived from the Fallen Area to save her world.

Her final wish was to use her own Divine Remains to exchange for the survival of those Evil Ghosts.

Because those who managed to persevere in this Destruction World to the end were mainly Bahe Ru's most loyal and strongest warriors.

She did not want them to perish alongside her.

For this reason, she was willing to have her lifeless remains be used by other Gods if necessary.

From this perspective, Yao Xin eventually succeeded in replacing Bahe Ru to become the new "Unknown and Forgotten Beldam," which was actually not a matter of coincidence or miracle.

From the start, Bahe Ru foresaw this scene.

If there was anything Bahe Ru did not foresee, it was probably that Li Hao was not the conventional "Ancient God" she knew.

Just as Yao Xin was about to use the power of the Divine Remains to forcibly separate the two worlds again, Li Hao promptly stopped her actions.

[Danger... also means opportunity.]

A mere mangled Divine Remains could not satisfy Li Hao's ambition.

Li Hao considered himself not to be a greedy person; he could even be described as being easily satisfied.

But watching an opportunity slip away without acting is also not in Li Hao's character.

In Bahe Ru's plan, even a broken Divine Remains was enough to be a bargaining chip in trading with the "Ancient God."

However, she never expected that after learning the causes and effects of this world's formation, Li Hao's interest shifted to this broken world itself.

[But before that, unrelated people must be sent away.]

Sneaking a look at the still clueless Hephaestus, a meaningful smile appeared on Li Hao's face, lost in thought.

.........................................................

Crack!

The sky suddenly shattered, and an aurora condensed abruptly.

Under Hephaestus's utterly shocked gaze, a gigantic eye opened in the fragmented world's dome.

Indifferent, profound, yet seemingly containing boundless mercy...

"Ancient God!?"

Feeling an aura as ancient as from primordial times, Hephaestus blurted out the identity of the other party.

Under the gaze of the Eye of the Firmament, Hephaestus seemed to feel a tremor from the soul.

The other party was definitely not an ordinary Ancient God.

Because the entire world was responding to His appearance.

Hephaestus had only seen a similar situation with a God who had ascended from the Primordial Spirit.

That was a God who had independently built a Divine Pantheon, and had several Apostles under His command more powerful than typical Main Gods.

No, according to their Goddess, that was a God above the Gods—a God of Gods.

Hephaestus did not understand the positioning of the "God of Gods."

But just from this title, He could tell that it was the Supreme God of Supreme Gods, possibly an existence second only to the Celestial Father.

"A returning Ancient God... turns out to be a God of Gods!?"

At the moment when the Eye of the Firmament appeared, Hephaestus clearly felt repulsion from this world.

Due to the chaotic time-space appearance in this world, Hephaestus was being gradually expelled back to His original time-space.

Hephaestus knew this was a gesture of goodwill from the God of Gods.

"Thank you for your assistance!"

"Great God of Gods, Your Eminence!"

He cooperated well without resisting the repulsive force from the world.

At this moment, Hephaestus demonstrated His well-educated and experienced understanding.

Though mischievous, Hephaestus never made foolish mistakes in significant matters.

This was a major reason why He was selected by a Goddess of Fate as a God Subordinate, to share the Attribute of Misfortune.

Fizz, fizz, fizz...

The body gradually became ethereal, and the dimension continuously elevated...

Having been forced to manifest physically, Hephaestus once again returned to His divine stature.

Precisely because of this, He could clearly see the entire situation unfolding in the Destruction World.

As Yao Xin's original form entered the Destruction World, the Divine Remains, resurrected by Her Primordial Spirit, gently lifted its head, revealing its battered face.

Contrary to Hephaestus's expectations, Yao Xin's original form did not absorb the power of the Divine Remains.

Just one step away from truly ascending the Divine Throne, Yao Xin unexpectedly chose to disperse her Divine Power, allowing Bahe Ru to return to the world she dearly loved.

Rumble!

It was as if the Celestial Pillar had collapsed, and the revived Divine Remains fell once more.

However, before the Divine Remains completely collapsed, the Primordial Spirits of Yao Xin turned into streaks of light and soared into the sky, flying to every corner of this broken world.

Accompanying those Primordial Spirits from the Divine Remains were the Evil Ghosts that were swept up.

They were once Bahe Ru's most loyal, bravest followers, who now shall forever guard the world where their Goddess was laid to rest.

[What a shame, just one step away from becoming a True God.]

As Hephaestus lamented Yao Xin's choice, a brand-new Power erupted from within this broken world.

This Power was so strong that even as a God, Hephaestus found it enticing.

[What!? Bahe Ru turned out to be an Innate Natural God!?]

He was stunned, watching this Power surge toward Yao Xin's original form; Hephaestus was once again left speechless.

The "Unknown and Forgotten Beldam" turned out to be a Natural God?

Moreover, a high-ranking Natural God directly nurtured by the world itself?

No wonder She never left this world until her death!

Because, in some sense, this world was Her Mother, how could She abandon Her own Mother to survive alone?

The greatest difference between an Innate God and an acquired god is that Their Power comes from the world itself, rather than from any civilization or followers under Their command.

When an Innate God falls completely, the Primordial Power of the world occupied by Them will also be released.

As long as one can obtain this Primordial Power from the world, even an ant could ascend to become the strongest underneath a Main God.

At this moment, the Power flowing to Yao Xin was the final Primordial Power of this world—Nothingness.

Beyond Nothingness, this world no longer held any value.

The mountains were gone, the waters disappeared, and the cycles of nature like wind, rain, thunder, and lightning naturally became a luxury...

When all things dissipated, the only thing left was Nothingness.
