The Growth of a God

Chapter 23: Sun Hunter Ra (2/3)

Like all the Celestial Fathers, the origins of Ra are unrecorded.

When all the Gods became aware of Ra's existence, He had already become a renowned War God in All Heavens and Myriad Realms.

Of course, from Li Hao's perspective, the original Ra seemed more like a God of Destruction, a Destroyer God.

At that time, Ra roamed All Heavens and Myriad Realms, chasing after the sun.

Whichever world birthed a sun, that world would witness Ra's arrival.

Then, Ra would unhesitatingly seize that world's sun, bringing cold and darkness upon the land.

Due to such terrifying deeds, Ra was dubbed a "Sun Hunter" by the Gods of that time—one who hunts the sun.

Initially, the Gods did not understand Ra's intentions, treating Him merely as a Lost God fixated on the sun.

In All Heavens and Myriad Realms, many reasons could cause a God to wander; having a Lost God obsessed with the sun wasn't unusual.

The real mystery lay in how Ra, without faith and a world, could be so powerful?

Not until Ra's actions became more outrageous, drawing interference from a Celestial Father did the Gods realize His true ambitions.

Ra wanted to hunt all the suns in All Heavens and Myriad Realms, artificially creating a Supreme Authority!

—He desired to become the new Celestial Father!

When the Gods realized this, unprecedented fear spread throughout All Heavens and Myriad Realms.

The sun may not be essential for the birth of life, but most worlds with life have sunlight.

This meant that as long as Ra lived, He would eventually appear in their world.

What really happened in that distant past?

Even the not-yet-born Maitreya did not know.

What could be confirmed was Ra's actions had birthed an unprecedented Divine Abomination—Demon Snake Apep.

In fact, the existence of [Demon Snake Apep] far surpassed the standard definition of "Divine Abomination."

It was a vast shadow formed by countless worlds that lost their suns, an "Enemy of God" destined to bring destruction across All Heavens and Myriad Realms!

Unfortunately, the above description is all that All Heavens and Myriad Realms know about [Demon Snake Apep].

[Demon Snake Apep] seemed to have destroyed many worlds and waged a continuous war across All Heavens and Myriad Realms with Ra.

Yet, the strangeness begins here.

All Heavens and Myriad Realms somehow lost the records of that massive war, only knowing that [Demon Snake Apep] eventually became a legend.

Considering such a massive catastrophe vanished mysteriously, leaving not a shred of written record.

Li Hao had reason to suspect this was the work of the Third Celestial Father—the "God of Time," whose name and deeds were lost.

Because eradicating [Demon Snake Apep] was His accomplishment, so too did the records of [Demon Snake Apep] vanish with His disappearance.

Were it not for [Demon Snake Apep]'s connection to the Fourth Celestial Father—Sun Hunter Ra.

Li Hao might even believe that even the name [Demon Snake Apep] would not have been preserved.

.........................................................

With the disappearance of [Demon Snake Apep], the former Sun Hunter Ra also underwent a transformation.

It seemed as if atoning for past deeds.

Sun Hunter Ra split His authority, transforming respectively into the Sun God of the Morning Sun, Aten, the Sun God of Noon Amon Ra, and the Sun God of Dusk Atum.

The three Sun Gods simultaneously restored the suns of All Heavens and Myriad Realms, thus officially establishing a prosperous era of life.

According to legends, wherever the sun's rays reach, life will inevitably be born.

The sun became the light of life, the light of hope, becoming one of the most powerful Gods in the following Divine Pantheons that emerged.

It was based on this achievement that Sun God Ra was truly recognized by the Gods as the Fourth Celestial Father.

So, the question arises: Did Ra die?

Maitreya did not provide a definitive answer to this.

Yet, upon delving into Ancient Egyptian Mythology, coupled with various information and clues collected from the [Civilization Game],

Li Hao quickly came up with his theory—Ra indeed died, but was resurrected.

Ancient Egyptian Mythology differs from other myths worldwide.

The most distinct characteristic is that in the mythological genealogies, Gods die and live, live and die again.

The entirety of Ancient Egyptian Mythology roughly narrates which God died, which God lived again, which God killed which God, and which resurrected God killed another God in an infinite cycle.

As the Supreme God in Ancient Egyptian Mythology—Ra certainly possesses the same nature and resurrection ability.

The same can be said for the Sun God in Ancient Egyptian Mythology, who is largely excluded from the Sun God sequence due to His image—[Sacred Beetle Khepri], probably Ra's reincarnation.

After all, Egypt's veneration of the sacred beetle is deeply ingrained, and [Sacred Beetle Khepri] symbolizes rebirth.

Combining the information and clues from the [Civilization Game], it's hard not to draw this connection for Li Hao.

Most importantly, if Ancient Egyptian Mythology is indeed Ra's Divine Pantheon, then every kind of God therein collectively evidences that Ra has yet to perish.

This is a simple deduction: If the Supreme God has died, the Divine Pantheon would no longer exist.

Conversely, if the legends of this Divine Pantheon continue, it indicates that Ra's Divine Pantheon still authentically exists somewhere in All Heavens and Myriad Realms.

[The only confirmed dead Celestial Father at present is the Third Celestial Father, whose very name has vanished.]

[Even the Celestial Father·Haojun, who hasn't appeared for a long time, has merely hidden from view.]

Considering this, Li Hao's gaze returned to the Dark World where Andiro and Wu Kui were.

Hmm, perhaps the Dark World could consider a name change now...

Although the "Buddha's Light" obtained from Maitreya cannot rival the real sun, it is more than enough to illuminate a world.

[Artifact: Infinite Great Light]

[Type: Divine Format]

[Quality: Rare Treasures]

[Function①: The light born of the collective faith of all living beings, so long as there remains hope in the hearts of beings, the light will never extinguish.]

[Function②: Though stripped of 'faith of the Buddha' by a certain Buddha, it still holds the potential to birth Gods.]

...

This [Infinite Great Light] is a Divine Format, analogous to the authority of the Sun God.

Any Ascender of this realm who gains recognition from this Divine Format can easily ascend the Divine Throne and become a True God.

The most crucial aspect is that this Divine Format also falls under the jurisdiction of the [Celestial Tao System].

This means that the Mountain and Sea Realm has gained yet another "window" to the outside world.

[The current question is, who is qualified to become this world's Sun God?]
